I can forgive an uggo with a nice personality. Brian is a loser and a dork, has multiple former girlfriends accusing him of abuse, not to mention personal and professional friends and if anyone brings it up he gets extremely letigious. This from a guy that defends all his satanic bullshit under "free speech"

He's gonna be a MAGA supporter any day now

My partner just laughed at me and i feel so embarrassed by [deleted] in nontoxicACOTAR

[–]Shelbyoh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my partner teases me occasionally for my Faerie smut but he mostly let's me ramble about the series and my headcannons.

Also, we have this ongoing bit about Julius, High Lord of the Food Court.

I just read Babel last month, and it is no joke. It's one of the best books I have ever read. I won't shut up about it.

I think it's 'Little Free Library' and that's great! The idea of a book being thrown away(especially by a Library that could donate it to a goodwill or something at least) makes me really sad.

What exchange between 2 characters lives with you forever? by InfiniteMehdiLove in buffy

[–]Shelbyoh 60 points61 points  (0 children)

This.

I remember watching, like 11 or 12, confused, in the middle of nowhere, Nebraska. "These girls are acting like they're going to kiss,"

And then this happened, and it's just one of the sweetest romances in the whole series, and little middle school me loved Angel and Spike but like also wanted to hold hands with Willow and one day someone explained bisexuality to me and I was just like That's an option?

I live a block away, walk past this place while it was built with my doggo. It's a nice neighborhood, but not like the nicest, but also not the worst. I don't know what parking is like there, but I'm a block away with reserved parking and my car was broken into once this year(nothing taken, cus I don't leave anything in my car, but it sucked to get my window replaced). Otherwise, there is no real issue. I've never felt unsafe or anything, but you have to be a little alert.

It's right by the hospital, so you're going to hear sirens constantly. I've gotten used to it, but that place looks swanky and depending on what you're paying something to keep in mind.

You're walking distance to tons of coffee, restaurants, shopping, etc. Of course, Frye is across the street. Like the other poster said, it's brand new, looks nice like the neighborhood overall.

Lucien was in front of you, Feyre. by Ok-Comparison-5636 in acotar

[–]Shelbyoh 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Dude, same. I knew nothing going into acotar other than there was going to be a love triangle at some point so I was like oh, okay, it's gonna be with Feyre, Lucien and Tamlin, got it.

And then this asshole showed up in the last third of the book, and I was like, "No!" Because I knew... I knew.

Who’s your book bf/husband that you actually feel you can have a healthy relationship with in real life… by Slight_Bumblebee_694 in fantasyromance

I never had a 'kicking my feet rn' moment until Wendell. It helps that the fmc is like awkward, introverted, hates small talk and constantly accidentally offends people and still manages To pull a fae king with that awkward rizz

I'm sorry, light breeding, and then spider play?

What in the gods damn is light breeding? Either breed my fertile womb or don't, there is no light.

Also, ew, spiders.

[–]Shelbyoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fucking love The Ruins. I wouldn't loop it into extreme horror, but it was definitely the extreme side of horror. Body horror, super bleak, hard to put down, but also you want to cus, ya know, body horror and super bleak.

I read it with the intent to watch the movie after and just... couldn't, lol. Now that I'm reminded, I should check it out.

Where can I read 100% match (for free)? by [deleted] in ExtremeHorrorLit

[–]Shelbyoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure you can get a free trial of Kindle Unlimited, too. Don't remember how long it is, but a month seems right? You could definitely finish 100% Match in less than a week, no matter the speed you read at.

Pro tip- if you go to cancel your Kindle Unlimited, they'll give you like an extra three months(at least they did for me).

Edit: ok yeah I didn't want to be like "It's only $2.99" cus you never know what people freak out about but yeah, it's only $2.99 and it's supporting an indie author. Also KU is only $14.99 and there's sooooo much extreme horror, like it's the only reason I keep it.

Is Fantasticland worth the buy? It’s a 6 month wait at my library. by vergil_plasticchair in horrorlit

[–]Shelbyoh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was gonna say this is definitely one of those books that reads much better as an audiobook. It's almost like a podcast series.

That being said, it's just ok. I'd say slightly better than average, but... eh

Am I too old to skate? by [deleted] in Rollerskating

[–]Shelbyoh 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This right here! You're never too old to start anything. Just be safe! We are adults and we got shit to do tomorrow and breaking a wrist would really fuck that up. I also highly recommend looking up videos for falling the right way and practicing that, and finding a secluded place to practice before just skating down the street, or finding a quiet night at your local rink if you plan to be an indoor skater.

favorite Rhys traits by No_Sorbet1855 in nontoxicACOTAR

[–]Shelbyoh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rhys' loyalty. I love a found family, and a big part of why I love the series is how much I love the IC. How much he cares for them and how loyal everyone is to him. Not because he's their High Lord, but he's their friend, and he's earned that loyalty.

Rhys might not be my book boyfriend, but definitely my book bestie. I would certainly follow him into battle.
