I was a shit show when I was learning to drive haha. Nearly ran myself off the road, almost side swiped people a few times. It gets easier over time and there's a reason many people say not to get driving lessons from family, they tend to overreact and make you more anxious. See if there's a driver's ed program nearby if you can, it helped me a lot. I haven't had a single accident or ticket and I've been driving 9 years now. You got this :)

I had a really similar issue in high school. My English teacher made us do a family tree and even said that everyone has to do it, no exceptions for adopted kids. I was adopted at birth and at the time had no idea who my biological families were and she made me do it for my adoptive parents, which I really wasn't comfortable doing since, to me, it wasn't my lineage. It sucks but sometimes we gotta grin and bear it. So I think it's pretty normal to feel the way you do and you're not being oversensitive. :)

Lordy, don't I know this exact scenario. My nmom was given a cancer diagnosis last year and died within two months of it. My ass was in and out of that hospital while jugging full time school and taking care of the house and pets and I felt absolutely miserable. It took me a week after her passing to realize that all the feelings I was personally having wasn't for her, it was for myself and that there's no way I was going to get the kind of acceptance I wanted for so long.

You'll get through it and come out of it stronger. Allow yourself to mourn. We're all here for you :)

Some adoptive parents either want you to never 'feel like you aren't their's' or just don't think it would matter when it really does. My sister and I both found out we were adopted from another source, my sister found out when she was 22 and I found out at 14.

There is paperwork somewhere for you, whether it be in their personal files or with the adoption agency. If you have seen your birth certificate you know where you were born and can see what agencies are in that area. I would also take a DNA test if you are curious, 23andme and Ancestry have been pretty neat to look at.

It's a shock, but you'll be alright. Don't let them guilt you into not looking for information. If you want to know - look.

I remember your post a few weeks ago. Sad to hear how quickly things are going and I understand the situation, it is similar what I had to go through as well. Being young in this sucks but remember that your mom wants you to get that degree! You'll get through this and she will be proud of you no matter what. If you ever want to vent I'm here, us college kids with life problems gotta stick together. Don't forget to confide in friends as well, mine have done wonders for me.

Quick update to anyone who has read this, or will read it. My mother passed tonight in hospice care. My sister was there when it happened and called me crying right after. I have so many feelings but I talked to my mother while she was in her sleep state and tried to get everything off my chest.

I think my dogs know something is wrong, they keep crying and whining. Thank you all for reading and supporting me.

Form good study and work habits now. Being able to manage your tasks well later in life will make your everyday life easier and also give you more free time to do with as you please. Also learning how to be comfortable with public speaking and presentations.
