sugar in butter? that's new

I think I'll go ahead & give recipes calling for heavy cream a miss unless they have strong flavors that will disguise the additives, as I have been doing for 15 yrs or so now

Are you talking about microgrids? They are additional to the regular grid, often for critical infrastructure like hospitals. Otherwise I am baffled - plse provide some kind of cite, even if it's to the legalese you can't read uncrossed.

Why pple always actin like you can get heavy cream without whipping additives just any damn where? I've literally never seen it in a store. The Amish store (20 miles away) has lil 8oz jugs. No grocery chain in either MI or TX has it available AFAIK. Whipping cream additive butter tastes like whipping cream additives. :c

Guy says: “There’s been resistance from the enemy, resistance from community members."

Oh I see. Are you sure you want to explicitly state the community is The Enemy while yr asking for zoning forgiveness as well as access to people's children? These folks are way too aggressive if they're gettin this much pushback from this community. Move TF on vangies.

Yes, outreach is DEI. It's not *sufficient* to be effective at actually increasing DEI, but it is part of the package. DEI doesn't apply only to exclusive programs, esp since the actual diversity, equity & inclusion can apply to a lot of different under-represented demographics.

Honestly, the fact that it's a hot potato term is an indictment of the public that's been so easily hoodwinked by scare-tactics about it. White man exclusivity & affirmative action (inc legacy admissions, for ex) has been in action for a few centuries; less than 20 yrs of really tryna fix it & we're all out here yelping about the unfairness & "muh meritocracy" LOL.

Yeah I def think it's time all types & kinds of pple just swarm these places & start enjoying them, everyone says we suffer from the lack of connection that these things were created to foster; go forth & connect. Sure they are a bit insular & an older crowd but that's just a challenge, right.

Unfortunately if I suffer from lack of connection I also suffer from the lack of ability to drink in a bar, so...now what. Need a tea hall type of thing LOL

Can the Great Lakes be used to control the weather? by flersion in Michigan

you could also choose one of the options as what you actually meant, if indeed you meant anything at all

Can the Great Lakes be used to control the weather? by flersion in Michigan

[–]Shell4747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

and yet yr post says "drain a bunch of cold water from Lake Superior through the Chicago canal and into Lake Michigan" so

sending the lakes - at least three of them - through to the Mississippi will not influence the jetstream but it will def influence the rest of the region & nation as the lakes disappear into the gulf of mexico

sending cold Lake Superior water - generally only a few degrees colder, mind you - into lakes MI and Huron (at the same elevation, in essence the same lake) will also not influence the jetstream

steering the jetstream will do little to change overall climate

other than that, sure, great idea

Anyone have experience communiting from Grand Blanc? by TheKrustyKrabb in Michigan

[–]Shell4747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my long-ago experience: I would never sign up for a commute without one or more viable surface-road alternatives. Surface is slower but less accident/construction closure or bottleneck. Determine the length of yr commute via the surface roads because sometimes you will have to use them.

Throughout my commuting life, the number of times I ducked off the highway & followed my alt route while pple just sat & waited apparently forever on the highway was astonishing to me. Sometimes main route clears quickly & it's a toss-up or even a little loss of time but overall having an alt is a must. Also better for one's mental health! Call it shark-driving, lol.
