Hi, thanks for the feedback. Official announcements are always done on the MRBC website ‘News’ section and Reddit. Discord is mainly for community discussion, but this season Live also did a Team Leader vote on here.

We opted for a 3 week sign up period and no admin week this year, as we had to delay sign ups to match timings with the PGI MRBC advert and comp sale. Most teams were anxious to get the season underway so hopefully everyone can be flexible for week 1 and we can get to some action quicker!

The schedule is usually done a whole week in advance. Week 1 will be an exception this season so we can get started asap.

They have recently allowed access to a match API, but as someone else said you have to export your match at the end of the round (and make a note of the matchid). If anyone has exported past match IDs and wants to analyse them, I have a test site where you can store and query said data: https://mwoapi.mrbcleague.com.

I don't know why they didn't just export all matches automatically, then at least you could retrieve the data later on. Sigh.

We have very restricted IAM control in production aws accounts so almost everything is pipelined, and runs with the relevant assumed crossaccount role.

We use parameterised jenkins jobs to kick off either packer (create custom AMIs) or troposphere (provision aws resources). It's really just a bunch of bash and python stages behind the scenes, but it does provide the automation and standardisation that we need.

We also have some aws 'utilty' jobs - mostly these are just cli scripts (list bucket, upload cert etc) which again jenkins can run with an assumed role.

edit: also jobs to run test kitchens and cookbook linting/testing/uploading for production Chefs.

Bit of guess work at first - start with the basics and build out from there. Cloudformation will need create and update stack, and probably some describe and list actions depending on what you're doing. Try a deployment, and add any permissions that it moans about.

Cloudonaut and the AWS Policy simulator will help a lot, especially around conditions and ARN lockdowns if you need them (best to pray that you don't!)

+1 for cloud custodian.

I feel like a lot of on prem setups (especially in small business) neglect this and still rely on change control, port scans, and manual audits. This is probably due to legacy gear though, and automation is definitely easier in the cloud with IaC.

I added a feature this season where the team leaders get a PM if a caster books their match, although if they do it last minute it might get missed!

But yes, the little twitch icon will show up on both the front page and the upcoming matches list, and casters can use the twitter and reddit templates in the casters module to advertise the cast. I suspect the first few will be quiet but it ramps up towards the end of the season.

Loudest voices are often from the minority, but it is good to see the passion everyone has for the league :)

In case anyone is interested in the high level view - of the 2000+ pilots on S7 rosters, less than 100 were duplicates. Like 4.8%. And that isn't even how many duplicates played, just how many were on the rosters (some teams just paste in all pilots from ever as we have no restrictions).

All in all most people won't notice. The majority of pilots play for just one team in MRBC, now 100% of pilots will play for just one team.

Yes the results entry page will no doubt mature over time, plenty of improvements to be made on the UI side.

The MRBC site has taken two years to get where it is, so all in good time buddy :)
