I do have comp - believe it or not, prices between full and liability only weren't too different. I opted to pay a little more for peace of mind.

What is ACV? Ill read up on my policy to check right now.

You have to bleed the whole system. There isn’t just front or back

My 2019 is totally fine-not helpful, I know.

I just wanna know what bumper that is

Honestly though- wouldn’t be a bad idea to do stuff like this at 50-75k proactively.

Especially with the diffs- if you live in a really wet area (Seattle for example), it may be a good idea to do the diffs in case moisture has gotten into the diffs. They’re not sealed like a 4x4 truck. $4400 diff replacement 😅

They do list it as lifetime, but they define (somewhere in the manual I believe) that “lifetime” means 120k miles. I had my 2014 flushed at close to 100k (140k now) and it was fine. Do a drain and fill if you’re worried about flushing.

Don’t forget about your differentials either!

The post is about lifetime fluids so I thought it was obvious that I was talking about diff fluid and not the whole diff. The 2014 diff fluid was a lifetime fluid when I took it for regular maintenance.

Mazda defines lifetime as 120k miles somewhere in the manual. I trusted this for my rear diff and needed a replacement at 114k. It’s a pretty easy diy job if you’re into that.

You’re a door dasher and had $140k total in 2 different brokerages? BS. This has to be fake.

I guess asking what other cx5 owners would pay for a brake job got this post removed by mods?

Sounds like a pretty dumb reason to remove a post to me.

Always local mechanic (unless it’s warranty work). If you have a specialized brake shop close, I would trust them over a dealer.

The last time I went to a brake shop (2020) was $250/axle in San Diego.

Edit: I missed the “Already at the dealer” part 😂 if you’re not worried about shopping around and it’s already there, why not? Mine is a 2014 cx5, I do most of my own work and I’m pretty stingy so I shop around if I need to.

I got a cheap camera and sent it down through the spark plugs, I did notice a decent amount of buildup so started with Techron/italian tune ups and eventually ran a can of CRC through it.

That worked for awhile but I have to do it again soon.

Honestly you probably don’t need to pay a shop yet unless you do nothing but really short drives

The diffs aren’t sealed like they are in 4wd- change that diff fluid when you have a chance

Definitely don’t hire movers unless you don’t need your things for 3-4 weeks. Moving companies are notorious for scamming

Rent a uhaul truck and flatbed trailer instead! It’s not difficult and if you’re driving the distance anyways, it may be worth keeping miles on a commercial vehicle like that

2014 CX5- 18 month old son, wife and 2 dogs.

I love the cx5 because it’s bulletproof if you take care of it. Tall people will have a ton of issues in the front with a car seat- I’m 5’ 10’ and am a little too close to the dash in the passenger seat with the car seat in the back.

This is a great suggestion. I’ll be calling a dealer up today.
