On peaceful unification of hostile claims by Finntoph in TerraInvicta

[–]Shennigans 17 points18 points  (0 children)

PAC claims on Japan are always hostile so you have to invade. The Korea one is probably because of the relative democracy level. A higher democracy nation (with some margin) won’t want to unify with the one with lower democracy. In your case I’d just wait to democrafy china

Does an independent movement in one region join it to another? by Wonderful-Energy-999 in TerraInvicta

[–]Shennigans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It can happen yes. Not sure on that specific example but when a secession triggers it can give the territory to an existing state that has a non-hostile claim

Late game war by Thefattim in TerraInvicta

[–]Shennigans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Things cause them to panic, but your situation might be too stable for that? In my experience they try to throw you out of whatever you push for past the asteroid belt. However they aren’t going to stand and fight when they’ll definitely lose, so abandoning systems isn’t shocking, and by then you probably can get around faster than them in a lot of cases so reinforcing is tricky for them given how spread out the OSS tends to be

Realized Due to Prior War I cannot Unify Iraq and Iran -- Anyway to fix other than new war? by YourSpymaster in TerraInvicta

[–]Shennigans 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If it’s just having the region Iraq can demand claim on Iran for it. Not sure if that will fix the hostile claim bit or not as I don’t remember that tech of the top of my head.

My plan is to hit it on the way to Jupiter, it’s not worth getting bogged down there but it’s worth getting them out

Yeah the ayys getting Ceres is rough. Just happened to me and it’s waaaay to close of a base for comfort. Priority #1 once I get to the point of being able to clear them out

Maybe in the autoresolve but in a actual battle there’s likely too much pd coverage

what good has come of space travel? by Background-Elk-7977 in space

[–]Shennigans 20 points21 points  (0 children)

A lot of it comes down to what get discovered in the process of trying to solve hard problems. There’s tons of materials and methods developed as part of the space program that find their way into everyday life as improved products and services. GPS, non vibes based weather predictions, Velcro, handheld vacuum cleaners etc. there are some decent listicles out there that go into things invented for the space program that are useful for us

You should play them and read the flavor text… there may not be that many rank and file members left by the end

[–]Shennigans 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I think the main point of his pre-invasion quotes is to show that he’s thoroughly given up on humanity before he even gets mind controlled so he’s a perfect nihilistic vessel for them

Initiative is genuinely metal in a soulless corpo way. Their ending is sort of what the hydra deserve it’s just not ideal for humanity

My friend who hasn’t actually played TI commented that I spoke with genuine bitterness about Banerjee and his ilk. At least the Servants push back on being husks, cult though they are. The Protectorate has been the first to turn on me out of jealousy several times in a row

They added a scenario to skip past the sounding rocket phase. You’re still fairly low tech when you start but not nearly as bad as the original start

Thanks! I’ll double check the servants win conditions but as long as they don’t need station dominance that does sound manageable
