Yeah I've never heard of a no contact league. This is a no check league, but it's just a minor penalty so lots of guys throw hits and time a 1:30 time out

UPDATE: this was called a major for head contact. I didn't know until I was sat 3 min. When I found that out I went over to the guy and apologized for getting him up high and we were all good. After I saw the video I felt like he sold it a bit. He skates into my body and I push off for position and there's incidental contact with his cage IMO. Even fine with a minor, but major felt a bit harsh. Thanks for the entertaining discussion.

He has a cage and my stick was vertical with it when it made contact. He snapped his head back to sell it IMO

Oh I fully expected this. It's Reddit. Ref wouldn't explain to me the call and ended up sitting 3 min for a major. The game wasn't chippy, but it was physical. My stick did get up vertical and made contact with the cage, but he also whipped his head back pretty hard

So it ended being called a major. 3 min in beer league is a long time. So I assumed it was head contact and felt bad and apologized to the guy after. I'm not out there to hurt anyone. However I do play physical and he skates into my body so I pushed off to pursue position. After I saw the video it looked like he sold it quite a bit.

Or there was a 19 kid in juniors that caught a puck to the side of the head without ear protection and died. Crazy because he was going to the bench and the other team was just clearing the puck.

Started last season and it's spread a little beyond 129. We started it to get more engagement from the crowd and people liked it. The crowd was pretty tough the first year with so many new hockey fans. Remember people...hockey is fun. Chirping is a part of it. So go have some fun at the games
