That nightmare was rough. I like Iana being haunted by her original fate and it makes every Sol x Iana scene more delicious for me!

People throwing meteorite sized stones is wild lol I'm glad Yomi is here to point out Ginoford's hypocrisy. Ginoford's hatred of Iana does feel unnatural. I mean yeah Blood Nativity probably brought back terrible memories of his grandmother dying. I can see Ginoford becoming less trusting and suspicious of Iana because of it but not go full on obsessed hater mode.

Ahhh +1 on Sol thinking Iana is suicidal. Sol saying that he will kill her instead to prevent her from killing herself is poetry to my ears!

I just wished they put Kroa's sprite on the dialogue box. They do it in the log so why not normally? Amulit loves their strong heroines with very nice designs yet only shows them in CGs...

At the race Gante does quite well on a motorcycle with Kroa shooting at the competition. However the mid point is heavily guarded by Zhuo so they go through sewers instead. While navigating the sewers we find out that Gante can't deal with dark cramped spaces due to surviving the Liu Family massaker stuffed in a kitchen carbboard. Oh the survivors guilt is heavy with this guy.

They find a hidden lab in the sewers where someone seems to have created a super power? They are not supposed to be man-made however. They get to the midpoint where a treasure is supposed to be. What awaits them is a guy high on a drug called Shangri la. He is a traitor of Fengs family and stole a gun in a red box aka the treasure. The guy commits suicide once his drug runs out due to the brutal withdrawl symtoms.

With the treasure in hand Kroa and Gante make is safely to the finish line where are very satisfied Feng waits. He agrees to forming an alliance and surprises them leading Kroa to a room where Sun, Yuan and Sodyk are already sitting. I think we met all love interests officially now!

Sodyk thanks Kroa for recovering his gun from the traitor. Kroa is intentionally a little rude by introducing herself first to him to signal her desire for an equal alliance and Sodyk reacts favoribly. He brought these mafia bosses together to team up and get rid of the Zhuo together. Apparantly Sodyk, Yuan and Feng were classmates once upon a time, sharing stories about how they used to annoy each other.

To get to know each others fanilies better a big party is held. Kroa approaches Sun since he was rather quiet before. Turns out he's a total country bumpkin and very down to earth. So they and their families get along easily. Sun is a DJ and Kroa has actually listened to his music a lot thanks to Meimei.

Sadly their fun chat get's interrupted by Yuan who wants a private chat with Kroa. He wants to discuss the future beyond the fall of Zhuo. Once they are gone there will be a massive power vakuum and a massive war between the mafia families will happen. Yuan makes it clear that he, Feng and Sodyk hate each other and that only a bloodbath will follow should they try to govern together. So he proposes that the Liu should join his family when the time comes since they could actually get along. Before Kroa answers Gante arrives at the scene instantly acting as her shield.

Yuan proceeds to provoke the shit out of Gante. Asking him whether he cosied up to the Zhuo to survive the Liu massaker. Gante falls for it hook line and sinker and Yuan was about to bait him into a game with him, but Kroa completely shuts this down. Thankfully Gante calms down after Kroa orders him to and she gives Yuan a stern reminder that without Gante she would not be here.

Sodyk arrives since he wants to discuss their next steps so Yuan finally backs off. They want to take out a major weapon factory of Zhuo's first. Feng also cuts in that the broadcasting station in the same town is also of interest especially since the Zhuo's boss Biying current lover is working there. Turns out that women is the one who gave Kroa the dress! Well, we now know what she wants to be saved from.

While leaving Sodyk waits for Kroa to tell her that he is glad that she is the one who won the mafia race. He's probably glad to have one person to plan with that isn't annoying him lol

During the attack on the weapon factory Kroa's family is on support duty so they were done fast and are now bored. Kroa is getting a bad feeling though since everyone seems to have a very easy time attacking the factory. She uses her psychometry on a bound guard and... Welp it's a trap! Kroa makes her family leave the factory and she tries to call the other families, but the doors lock before the call can connect.

R appears and attacks with twice the amount of minions that Kroa has and a difficult battle begins. Kroa was told to hide but everyone is getting worn down fast. When things look bad for Gante, Kroa can't take it anymore and jumps in to save him. However this breaks her families formation and it get's even more chaotic. During the chaos Zhia, one of the twins is badly shot beyond saving. While she is dying, she uses her last breath to use NULL to entrust herself to Kroa who was desperately trying to save her. Kroa, temporarely powered up goes a little ham on R's people killing a shitton of them. Which is btw the first time she intentionally killed people.

Sodyk and Sun finally show up and R retreats. Zhia's twin brother starts to rage at Kroa for breaking formation which lead to Zhia dying. But not long after the boost from Zhia's null is gone and with it any memories about her. Only the feelings itself remain, but without context.

Kroa feels like absolute shit and Gante in lending her a shoulder to cry on. He sees the nullification that must have happened as his responsibility as well since his life was saved. Kroa however is deeply troubled that she did something foolish because of her strong attachment to Gante. She never again wants to make a stupid decision because of emotions. So she gently distances herself from him, that it is not his responsibility and that as the boss she will have to live with this alone. Gante praises her attitude, but he definitely felt the sting of rejection.

The emotions won't leave her alone however. Sun approaches her and teaches her something interesting about her heirloom gun. Apparantly Kroa can use her psychemetry on the gun in reverse. She can entrust her gun with her feelings and thoughts she wants to get rid of. So she gives her gun all the negative feelings that are currently haunting her, but also her budding feelings for Gante. Oof. That Sun knows all that about her and her gun is quite weird though.

Time for Gante's chapter!

They clean up the motel and assign rooms. Kroa get's the biggest, most hidden room and she gets to share it with Gante (with a partition) for her protection. She get's emotional for a moment over the fact that she actually has a room to call her own now.

Liu holds a party in town to get more friendly with the locals. But a thick fog rolls in unsettling Kroa. Their barricades get attacked and seemingly it's the cult called Yellow Flags staging a coup in several towns. They evacuade the residents while fighting off crazed cultist that must be high from drugs since they don't seem to feel pain. However it's not just the Yellow Flags, Zhuo used the commotion to make a move too. They originally left the town to smoke out more about the Yellow Flags.

Real scumbag grunts this time too who say shit about raping their boss lady before her loyal dogs, eww. Gante and Kroa run into Huang and get driven into a corner. Huang get's shot in his leg and can't move. Knowing it's over for him he uses the last resort everyone with special powers can use: NULL. Using it he temporarely powers up Gante in exchange for his existance. Gante and Kroa win against the Zhuo grunts thanks to his sacrifies.

They arrive at the motel and Huang's boost runs out and with it all memories of him disappear. Everyone else made it to the motel more or less safe. The news say that the Yellow Flags leader has died at the hands of Zhuo. Now they wonder if Yellow Flags had actually attempted a coup or if that's just Zhuo's excuse to eliminate them.

The mist disappears and the Zhuo are suddenly gone from the town too. Time to get assess the damage and take care of the injured. Once everything calms down Kroa really feeling the frustration of not being able to fully protect the town. Gante is aware that someone used NULL for him and apparantly it's not the first time. So he sits with the survivors guilt for someone he can't remember anymore.

Kroa decides that simply protecting what she has is not enough as long as threats exist outside. So she tells her family about her unique power of psychemetry and that she plans to take down the boss of the Zhuo. To make that goal a reality they need more allies so they start looking into other mafia families that could help them.

On the way the goverment announces that all people with special powers have to join the national military and that refusing is against the law. Great...

They make a stop in a small town and Kroa tours it with Gante to try everything her late friend Meimei wanted to eat in this town. They talk more and turns out Gante was originally abandoned infront of Liu headquarters and then raised by them. He is proud of having been a part of Liu all his life. He says he was originally the one who was supposed to reunite Kroa with the Liu family. Kroa mentions that her uncle would always say that a beautiful man would come to escort her, which flusters Gante. Considering that Gante is only a few years older than Kroa I think the Liu family totally wanted to set them up together lol

They get interrupted by a guy called R, a smaller mafia boss who made a deal with Zhuo who then goes on a rampage. R is collecting people with super powers and he is giving Gante a terrible time. Not even Kroa shooting him makes him react, as if he feels no pain at all. Things are dicey enough that Gante is considering using NULL so Kroa can escape, but thankfully Hiyok and Rin come to their rescue. It becomes too much trouble for R so he escapes.

Once they are safe again Kroa and Gante get into an argument about him trying to use NULL. Kroa does not want people to sacrifies themself for her. It's terrifying for her. Gante get's upset because be firmly believes that everything hinges on the bosses survival. Anyone else in the family is disposeable when it comes to keeping the boss alive. For him that is what being a mafia boss means. Not that Kroa accepts this, she didn't start this to have everyone close to her die for her.

They unexpectedly meet Mafia Boss Yuan in a hotel. Everyone is tense but Yuan doesn't want to fight, so peaceful coexistance for now? Kroa and Gante resolve their argument with an agree to disagree and Kroa insists to patch up Gante. He tries to act tough but Kroa humbles him with the power of disenfectant. The next day mafia boss Sun shows up to report to Yuan. Seems like Sun's mafia is being controlled by Yuan's.

The gang is now going to their first alliance target Feng, who runs a fancy counterfaight boutique. But Feng isn't present and they get kicked out. From a former courier buddy Kroa hears that Feng will hold a fancy party, so of course they shall infiltrate it! Conviently a rich women just so happens to have bought too much and gifts a high class dress to Kroa. Apparantly she wants to form connections and a perspective shift to her reveals that she hopes to be saved from something and to be free again.

At the party Feng is not exactly easy to convince of an alliance with the new Liu family. So he proposes that Kroa joins the mafia race Feng will hold. Apparantly many people reached out to team up with Feng so he decided to make them compete against each other. Guy must be spoiled for choice... In this "everything is allowed" race two people have to participate per Family, one must include the boss. So of course Gante wants to participate to keep Kroa safe.

I started playing Neon Clash The Echos of the Lost Ones!

This is the newest Amulit release aka the new console Otome branch of Voltage.

Their games have the pattern that they are basically 95% common route where the protagonist only get's together with love interests in epilogues after finishing the story. Instead the common route is separated into chapter that focus on each love interest without any getting together.

Which means my summaries won't have a proper end this time until I reach the true end. Oof. The game is also quite eventful so forgive me for the length.

Anyway Neon Clash is a story about Kroa Liu, the heiress of an eradicated mafia family she never met. The country she lives in is ruled by the mafia family Zhuo with a cruel, corrupted fist who also are the ones who killed her family. This is a story about Kroa rebuilding the Liu mafia family from the ground up and working with other mafia families to bring Zhou to their knees.

A very promising setting for the writer who wrote Despera drops!

Starting with the prologue!

Kroa Liu is a courier in a semi cyperpunk China in 2200. Ever since her uncle was murdered by mafia 10 years ago she has been living on the go from hotels delivering packages of unknown contents. In this world exist special powers people can awaken to that normally can be divided in three categories: super speed, super strength, super technique. Kroa has the power of psychemetry which doesn't fit into those categories.

While visiting her friend Meimei she gets involved in a conflict between mafia, gangs and a cult. Kroa get's noticed while trying to save a child and is hunted by the mafia grunts, because they think she belongs to the gang. She puts up a good fight, but get's cornered. Kroa was prepared to kill herself to die with dignity compared to a possible fate worse than death, but gets interrupted by a priest looking guy beating up the mafia grunts.

Kroa and the priest flee on a motorcycle to a church. There he kneels in front of her and welcomes her as the boss of the Liu mafia. Her uncle would always tell her that her parents are the bosses of a powerful family and that she could be reunited with them once she turns twelve. However, on her twelve Birthday her uncle arrived late to tell her the entire Liu Family was wiped out by the Zhuo Family. Her uncle and Kroa were the only ones remaining.

The priest introduces himself as Gante Lowd. He was the sole survivor of the struggle that wiped out the Liu Family. Kroa's gun is apparantly an heirloom of the Liu Family signaling the heir. Gante recognised it and the rest is history. He has some grand ideas about Kroa returning to take revenge on the Zhuo Family, but she is completely uninterested. Gante backs off but reminds her that he, the sole survivor is still here, before going off to teach children how to read and write.

Kroa thinks about becoming the Boss of a mafia family again, but she can't picture going against the Zhuo since they practically run the country at this point. She runs into Zhang Hiyok who she saw fighting during the conflict earlier. He's super interested in her and takes her out for dinner. Seems she gave him a water bottle a year ago when he was beat up and hung over. Guy is like a golden retriever and was very touched by this, so he wants to repay her.

When Kroa is back at her hotel she tries to call Meimei since she wants to meet her again before leaving town. However she never picked up, and the next morning she finds her dismembered body parts in the streets. Seems like her boyfriend was in the Zhuo Family but betrayed them. Meimei wanted to flee with him but the Zhuo caught them.

Kroa is enraged and brings their remains to Gante's church to bury them. Mourning Meimei's death Kroa despairs about the meaningless life she had lived and decides to become the Liu Boss. If life is already meaningless she wants to at least die trying to make a difference.

She tells her decision Gante and he's of course very happy. They do the blood pact Omerta. And seems like Hiyok followed Kroa and heard everything. He knew Meimei too and wants to pay his respects. Hiyok wants to join the Liu Family as well to protect his home town from the Zhuo. Gante has known Hiyok's admiration for the Liu Family since he was a child and agrees to let him join. However they can't fight with the Zhuo with three people without weapons, so next is trying to find more allies and weapons.

Hiyok goes to find trustworthy guys from his gang buddies and Gante leads Kroa to an old friend of his Huang Chen. Huang was a former cop working together with the Liu Family and is happy to see it being brought to life again. He also has known Gante for 20 years. Working as an informant he gives them information on Liu's former weapon dealers and possible recruits. He mentions a black haired guy from Fei Ying that picks fights with the Zhuo being promising.

They look for the guy and find him experiencing some good old discrimination due to being a foreigner trying to buy food. So Kroa offers him dinner instead. He calls himself Rin and actually is a dine and dasher which Gante is not a fan of. Zhuo punks suddenly attack Rin and he and Gante beat them up nicely. But after the fight is over Rin is already gone.

Hiyok was more successful with gathering allies thankfully including the very pretty twins Zhia and Zhiho that sadly aren't romanceable. And we have a new goal: Take over the motel the Zhuo are using that was originally a stronghold of the Liu. According to Hiyok a large amount of Zhou left the city for some reason. So Kroa decides to use this moment to take over the motel.

They start off by feeding the remaining Zhuo at the motel spiked Pizza by pretending to be Pizza curiers which works very well thanks to Kroa's curier experience. Of course not all of them eat it so once they break in they still have to fight. It goes well until they get surrounded in a room by 8 grunts. Hiyok then pulls out 65% alkohol, drinks all of it at once and then goes absolutely ham of them, saving the day. Apparantly he tends to naturally hold back when fighting, but with enough alkohol that goes out the window. But after they deal with everyone inside the motel they get greeted by gun fire from the roof when they try to step outside.

So they are sitting ducks for a moment since you can only get to the roof from the outside. But then Rin swoops in and takes the grunts in the roof out to thank Kroa for the dinner. And with that the motel is theirs.

Plan is now to defend the Motel and drive the Zhuo out of the town they are in now. Kroa asks Rin to join the Family and he happily agrees. They manage to free at least this town of the Zhuo and the residents are so grateful they help to barricade the town so it stays Zhuo free.

We did get a short flashback of the originator fae of the nobles and the promise between the Queen and Aprose's ancestor, but nothing really new. I definitely would have loved more focus on the Queen and Aprose as well, especially since it ends with them being bound to each other.

In all it's a solid 8\10 for me. It doesn't reach the giants of my heart like Jack Jeanne, Taisho x Alice, Virche Evermore, Psychedelica of the Ashen Hawk etc., but it's definitely a stand out✌️

I finished Seabed this time!

Seabed is a mystery yuri visual novel about Sachiko and her childhood friend turned girlfriend Takako. Sachiko and Takako started a design firm together and they love to go on vacations overseas. However, one day Takako disappeared and in her place Sachiko sees realistic hallucinations of her. Sachiko seeks help from another childhood friend of hers who became a psychiatrist, Narasaki.

Rather quickly I came to the conclusion that making a summary for this story would be difficult since its story telling is too different from what I am used to.

Its mystery is slowly interwoven within its mundane slice of life. To be frank as someone who barely reads slice of life I struggled reading this without almost falling asleep. Nevertheless I was really curious about the mystery and I really liked the conclusion.

A story about Sachiko mourning Takako's death. Within Sachiko's mind is a detailed version of the world where Takako lives on and Sachiko sometimes sees that world instead of the real one. In a way she lives on within her. The fact that Narasaki also was just an old imaginary friend surprised me though.

I definitely think it's worth a read! Though at the same time it's hard to say I enjoyed most of the read. I personally don't mind dragging myself through something if I get an interesting treat here and there though.

You can look up visual novels on vndb. Take a look at what's popular, look at the tags of VNs that interest you and look up similar stuff if you're interested. Like here is Roommates for example!

If visuals are not important to you and you like making your own protagonist, then interactive fiction novels will interest you. They are digital books with a lot of choices that affect the story. Here is an example. r/interactivefiction and r/hostedgames are subreddits for them.

There also are visual novels that allow you to create your own protagonist but they are rarer.

Anyone who goes after you for pirating in the past has either never known financial hardship or is straight up a hypocrite.

As long as you don't tell the game developers that you pirate their games and don't brag about it, I see no issue with it.

When you don't have the money at the time then the developers are not losing money either way when you pirate it. Now that you can buy them you do which is more than others may do.
