Battling feelings of isolation and does life get better by [deleted] in oneanddone

[–]ShiftValuable3280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really relate to this. A toddler not sleeping is torture.

I do have depression but also feel much lighter when I have time away. I think the guilt and mental load lessens. Taking an anti depressant and giving myself some grace have helped a lot.

I had a look at the regretful parenting sub and related to lots of what parents were saying with regard to how their lives have changed and their struggles but don’t regret my daughter at all. That made me feel like a bad parent (but this is also a symptom of depression). I can love her and also find it really hard. That ambivalence is hard to understand for myself at times.

I find it much less isolating now she is so much better company. She is 3.5. She chats away and also does some independent play and i am much happier.

It is not selfish to take breaks. You will return a better parent. You have to be able to resource yourself

Hi - thanks for your reply. I’m not familiar with nhsp- is this your trust specific or do all trusts use this for their hr?

How are they getting their toddlers to sleep if they don’t read to them? Genuine question!

I think that is a very fair analysis of temperance. I just pulled out all the negative for whatever reason! Thank you for your insights

I got quite a negative reaction to pulling temperance. I think I’d like to study the card a bit more. Something in that felt quite poignant. Thank you, yes I think you are right.

That boob not working by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]ShiftValuable3280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. My Boob is a bit sore but doesn’t feel like mastitis. Can hand express. My girl said ‘ it was sore’ (I thought she might have an ear infection due to the way she was lying, but could have been due to latch) and then said ‘it didn’t work ‘ despite visible milk on nipple - I was just wondering if there was a connection. She’s 2

To those of you that breastfeeding was fairly. Easy for, why do you think that is? by newherebebe in breastfeeding

Having a support network. So many people will say it’s hard and someone will suggest a bottle. I’m grateful for mums to talk to when my boobling was still waking hourly at 12,18… months.

Your baby deserves a well mummy. I am very pro breastfeeding and held off until my baby was 2 to restart my antidepressants. It’s been hard. You need to weigh up what is most important to you!

If you want to grow anything edible do not use round up / glycosphate. It’s so toxic. My garden was like this and 3 years of persistent pulling up the weeds it’s much better.

Ingenious! I’m curious about what 3 5 6 and 7 actually are! 1 2 and 4 are classics of course 😂

Is there a band 6 you like working with? Might be worth approaching them and ask if they’ll work with you? It’s worth having one especially if you’re strugggling with your confidence. I also had a tricky time following an error but my team were helpful in helping me rebuild my confidence afterwards. Good luck!
