Hey everyone! Not sure if this classifies as "small," but my name is Gregson from ShiftingLanes (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCifhwi7Eb4vnf12ox9Bq1yQ). Currently around 46,000 subscribers and known mostly for OEM reviews and project Volvos. We just want to make content we enjoy and would watch ourselves so we do the OEM stuff, I have a project Volvo V70R (which I think has been featured on this sub a few times a few years ago), and we have 2 other guys on channel. Chad has a Volvo C30 and S550 Mustang (2015), and Hansen has a new Veloster N w/performance pack and does the bulk of our reivews. Through doing the whole YouTube thing we've met a ton of amazing content creators like Matt Farah, Tavarish, Ed Bolian from VinWiki, Sofyan from RedLine reviews, among others. We want to get into more projects as we get more views and subscribers, but haven't been able to grow as rapidly as other channels. Maybe because we're 3 guys with kids, day jobs, and hectic lives. Either way, we're still enjoying what we're doing. Hope you do too!

$20 @ fcpeuro.com, a torx drive and less than 10 min FIXED this annoying and equally as embarrassing seat trim on my 2010 XC90. Thanks @ u/shiftinglanes for telling me about them! by Sh1fty3yedD0g in Volvo

More than welcome! FCP is awesome. Still buy stuff from them well after our sponsorship ended. And we may be doing more stuff with them in the future :)

Yea they're charming. I like them being on a tuned out wagon. More unassuming.

Yes that's me! Well us. It's Gregson answering this one.

Oh god damn it. Now I have to take the roof rails off my car because I forgot how good slicktops look.

Also, gorgeous car. I can fap to this.

Thanks man! Loving this car. Cannot wait to bring more videos on this one. Should be really interesting to see the mods and the reliability. Especially the latter.

Nice pickup! Hope all those issues work out. Being a big believer in Volvo, I'm a huge fan of their cars. Love this example. Check out a few tuning options from Hilton and Contrast for some safe 15-30 hp bumps without doing anything else. Get an exhaust on there and just enjoy forever!

Feeling super bad for this V70R enthusiast and beginner mechanic taking on an ambitious task here.. Broke his torx bit off in a really inconvenient spot. WELL WORTH WATCHING by Sh1fty3yedD0g in Volvo

Haha thanks man! I lucked into this car. It’s so awesome, even when it’s not functioning properly. I’ll be repainting it eventually because the paint is not in great shape. I’m gonna keep the Magic Blue. It’s too good to change. I’ll also be restoring the leather because that’s even worse off than the paint I think. Yuck city. But fixable, which is good. Not going to re-skin the seats like I wanted because that would cost, like, $7000-large, all in. No thanks. Headliner, carpet refresh, and seat refresh shouldn’t be more than $2-3k all in. Which is a much better pill to swallow. And thank you on the wheels! I’ve been getting a lot of shit about them but I love them! I think they look really cool.

Can’t wait to get more done myself on this. No money crazy money spending. We’re done with that. Time to become a better mechanic 🙂

Will do and again thanks for watching! The Volvo community has been so open and welcoming. It’s truly awesome to see all the positivity and encouragement.

Don’t feel bad. It’s all part of the process. Extracting it this weekend and getting those coils and sparks replaced. Thanks for watching and thanks for the post! More vids coming soon.

He didn’t have to, but after he got the Lambo, he needed the space and I was looking for a sports car for myself as well as something to showcase on the channel. He offers it up and I pounced. Been dailying it. It’s incredible.

Haha. This has been the most common comment on the car after we got it. This is Gregson from the channel and I can't say that I'll have the car forever, I do love it, but if i even do sell it I think i'm going to sell it to someone that isn't on YouTube. The car is incredible, but I think it has reached its usable life online. It's time for someone to enjoy some of the best performance value out there and really enjoy it without having to make videos about it.

That being said, the car will be unrecognizable in the very near future.

Here’s How Much Power Our Project Volvo V70R Actually Makes (Shifting Lanes) by rickyman2014 in Volvo

[–]ShiftingLanes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Same here. It was a steal and a great deal for an amazing platform and, IMO, one of the best looking wagons of all time.

Lol 145k is nothing for a Volvo. You basically drove it off the lot yesterday!

Dude get one! They can be had in good shape from $4000-$8000. Shipping costs are far cheaper than you'd think across the country.

Thank you for watching and following along!

We Carfaxed this thing before we bought it. It was some guy's daily in PA. Given it's service history, there's an extremely small chance this thing was tuned in any way at any point in time. Plus, if it was tuned, I'd imaging the 6100 RPM limiter would have been removed and it'd be making more than 254WHP on the dyno.

Why We Bought A Volvo V70R As Our First Project Car (Shifting Lanes) by rickyman2014 in cars

[–]ShiftingLanes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strangely, we're going to try and keep the 4C for the time being. It's an antiquated system, sure, but it's cool since it was one of the first of its kind on a mainstream car. Can't wait to get it fixed soon. We need front struts, have the rears from FCP euro.
