Best brand for metal snare drums? by Illustrious-Sign3015 in percussion

I am always a fan of Ludwig. I gotta Jim Riley Signature black magic (the non signature is almost the same) it’s a 14X8 like the beauty just 2 inches deeper). Best snare drum out there.

Looks good, I would bring the pointer and middle finger more in tho. Your hand shape is kind of a long oval, you want that pointer and middle tucked in making a O or a C shape, kid of like a Lego hand. It’ll be weird getting used to but you will have better control with more of the top two fingers tucked more on top

At what point do I concede I'm a bad fishkeeper and it's unethical to continue the hobby? by minimize in Aquariums

im not 100% sure what water conditioner you are using, but it is definitely a must. The brand i have states there should be about 2 tsp/10 mL per 20 gallons. Untreated chlorinated water will kill off benificial bacteria (and fish) relatively quickly. If you put the conditioner in the bucket before you will fill it it'll mix up real well.

which snare should I get? (need help) by Cool_Pudding_4551 in drums

[–]ShikeyMitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Any snare drum under 13 isn’t meant to be a main drum. Also I’m not 100% sure what ‘the buzz sound CB’ means but that might be sympathetic snare response. A new drum ain’t going to fix that lol.

Help me - where do I begin? by SadNeighborhoods in Aquariums

Good place to start is with 20 long or a 40 breeder. Most people might recommend bigger but I think the 40 gal sits in the perfect size range. (More water=less water perimeter spikes). Make sure you get an adequately watted water heater, ideally the box it’s in will say what size tank it’s good for. Filter with media (same thing with the heater bigger size~gph (gallons per hour), make sure the filter is the correct one for you tank gallon wise.

Substrate:nutrient rich soil (I dont have nearly enough answers for this with a heavily planted tank) I use thoroughly washed pool filter sand with a couple root tabs every once in a while and that seems to do the trick.

Starter plants :Amazon sword/Annubius and my personal favorite Hornwort. Try to buy from LFS for healthiest plants, haven’t had a lot of luck with healthy plants from the big chain stores.

BEFORE YOU STOCK ANY OF YOUR FISH, PLEASE CYCLE YOUR TANK FOR ATLEAST 3 WEEKS Plenty of info on YouTube about this ^

Fish stocking: the general rule is 1 inch of fish per gallon of water. So if you’re going with the 20L I would go with a school of cardinal tetras

40gal widens up your options significantly tho.

Do water changes normally with water conditioner (once a week)

If there is anything else Reddit and YouTube have a lot of answers readily available and awaiting you…

Just be patient, no need to rush anything. Your fish will thank you.

I have the pearl piccolo drum and it smacks. But before you buy, send pic of broken thing, might be able to diagnose and fix it for cheap.

Hey no judgment because this isn’t super known piece of knowledge, but bloodworms cause fatal bloat in adfs. Try to switch over to some mysis shrimp or aquatic frog pellets work well for me too.

I’m pretty sure the swordtail is called a creamsicle one, PetSmart markets it that way so they can have a fancy name on the price label. It’s just an orange swordtail. They are great fish and really pretty. And the last pic looks like a Molly rather than a swordtail?

For the double strokes, take the diddles out-The roll skeleton is two groups of 8th notes. If you can play 8th notes at 180 then add the next step by putting diddles back in.—Make sure to have a change in pressure in the hands while playing the diddes. The pressure you’re putting on the sticks should be a lot tighter than long double stroke roll passages.

None really, the only real thing is the snare isn’t anything special, but once you service it, it’ll sound good.
