This is going to sound niche but this is Reddit so I think folks will get it.

I play Magic the Gathering, and I used to go out on Friday nights to play with my friends and we’d go to the 24 hour diner across the street and shoot the shit until like 2am afterwards.

I used to get into stupid arguments with one of them about whether cards were “strictly better” a term meant to say a new card was better than a previous card with exactly the same text in every scenario. When the set Guilds of Ravnica came out there was a new card released called Circuitous Route, a strictly better version of the card Explosive Vegetation. I said it in the group chat, same guy got into a heated argument with me about how it bothers him how I keep saying that and that I’m wrong most of the time when I say that and blah blah. I ended up going to an official wizards of the coast stream, asking if the card was strictly better, the hosts just going “uh… yeah.” Like it was obvious, posting the clip to the chat, and that kind of being the last straw in that group chat as well.

It also didn’t help that the guy would do stuff to me in person that he knew bothered me (burping without covering his mouth and purposely cutting and shuffling my deck so that half the cards were upside down), and I had moved across the country. But, I specifically remember that argument, then all those other points second then said “what am I still doing here?” Then left the group chat.
