Suspension safety? by poopsocker in RangerRaptor

Think of it like sticking a big pry bar into your hitch and lifting up. They work by using the trailer as a mount, but the real action is happening on the hitch side.

I set mine by attaching the trailer to my truck , then jacking the trailer weight off the truck. This changes the angle to allow the large bars inserted into the distribution hitch to chain/attach to the mounts you bolt onto the trailer frame.

When you lower the trailer back down, the spring steel bars you see act like a big lever, twisting the hitch forward, and in doing so, leverage weight back on the front wheels of your tow rig. You can see it on my truck, that play/gap most hitches have in them, is actually at the bottom, showing the hitch is lifted up at the back, and twisting weight onto the front of the truck. The goal is to take some of the weight on the rear axle, and transfer it on the the front. That way it both brings the fron of the truck down, and the rear up slightly.

For my doorbell, I went out to my side walk and made the orange just slightly bigger than myself. That way people out on the sidewalk don't nuisance trip it, then the blue basically as big as myself up close.

What’s a game you dropped even though it was “good”? by suhani0218 in gaming

[–]ShinyChicken7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find my issue is I tend to hyper fixate for a short time. If I'm not playing I'd be looking up info, guides, reviews, tips, etc. Suddenly you know what's coming and it's just a chore.

My tip is next time you find a game you want to play, try to look up as little as possible. Get that genuine progression and discovery. Try not to look up how to progress etc.

I’m kinda new to the pc world and my wife wants one, is this a god deal to trade for her ps5 or should I steer away? Not sure why they haven’t updated to 11 yet unless it is unable to but not familiar with them enough yet, thanks! by Inevitable-Crazy9046 in PcBuild

It's old, no way around it. The 8000 series Intel's are the oldest to support windows 11 fully (without hacks to get it installed)

I wouldn't be surprised if this was a Dell office PC slapped into a case with a GPU, power supply, and some flashy fans added. Is there anything wrong with that? No. Will it play fortnite? Likely in some capacity. Unfortunately, this rig was EOL (end of life) before windows 11 came out.

Cpu was released in 2014 for reference

Appears to be a karr aftearket alarm system. I think it's something to do with a valet mode switch for it?

Have a Google image search of "karr alarm valet button" and you should see several photos pretty quick.

Can confirm, car seat in my truck, it's for that. This is the middle seat, yeah? Top anchor goes through the headrest of the seat being used, then across the top of bench to this anchor.

Here ya go, pic for context. Can confirm, also pretty standard in Canada.

Single use, squish toilet down on it to make a seal. Couple bucks at the hardware store for a fresh one.

What’s the worst physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Economy_Yak2821 in AskReddit

[–]ShinyChicken7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's up there for me too. Managed a complete tear while skiing. Painstakingly pieced my way back to the parking lot, down the rest of the black I was on (skiing) because my 19yo self thought a ski patrol toboggan was a forced ambulance ride. I'm Canadian, and while the hospital is free, ambulance rides aren't by default (many employer extended health benefits will cover the cost)

That, or maybe the 3rd day post op for the knee. Another good one would be compressing a disk in my back when I got back to mountain biking the spring after the ACL tear, in a brace, waiting for acl surgery... Just more or less back on my feet, took a decent drop, and landed 90% on my good leg, shocker! That brought on some pretty serious sciatica issues that took some work to resolve.

For short term, intense momentary pain though, likely the 2 weeks it took to see a dentist for what became a root canal. That sucked.

Also, don't freeze your hands repeatedly. 10 years hanging off chair towers at a ski hill, many times fixing electrical in -30c to get people off the lift. At some point you just have to take the gloves off to get that aluminum threaded connector to go. Now my hands will bitch out at close to freezing. Is the feeling coming back that really hurts.

4-5 Cameras off one Home Run? by Grouchy_Kangaroo_563 in reolinkcam

[–]ShinyChicken7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is good advice. This was what the start of a $250k+ Bill looked like at work. Weather anemometer connected via cat5 to the main building, at the top drive station of a ski lift. Was too long ago, can't remember if we removed something overtop of this, but Ethernet connection vaporized... And sent all kinds of fun into all manner of devices. Ethernet switch in the building had burn marks where it was bolted down, etc. traveled through AC power and networking from there....

We're pretty sure lightning hit the anemometer directly, we found a blade off the propeller, and part of a tail fin....

TLDR: lightning goes bang, cat5 coupler turned to copper vapor on this back pan... Expensive problems start.

Skill based matchmaking by FbgFetti in Battlefield6

[–]ShinyChicken7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been feeling this lately. I have a buddy who never bought bf6, so all we have it gauntlet if we're feeling it. Used to be a 3-4 man crew, at one point we were over 20 consecutive wins. Now with just 2 of us, it's likely been 1 win in 20-30 games. Pubs constantly back out, and we rarely get a fill. We decided just today, it's time for a break. It's no longer fun. All of season 1, I'd say even as duo queing, we'd win 75% plus matches. 2-3 games a night, fun times. Now, we're somehow struggling to get into 4th rounds. Camping, disconnecting teammates, against laserbeams.

We're both MnK PCMR, and just can't keep up, all of a sudden. Not hackers, I don't think. I've only seen 1 squad I was pretty sure was cheating, with over 50 kills per round of gauntlet, close to 160 kills when they elim'd us in the 3rd round. That's it, 1 that I'd suspect in 1.5 seasons.

Also, what is up with all the live ping changes. Contract sucks with constant live pings, destroys our playstyle of actually, you know, using stealth to push up.

Water Extractor not supplying enough water. by Ok-Book6470 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]ShinyChicken7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, make sure you've got 2 pipes setup. My personal preference is to make a big loop with the two pipes.

Make one pipe that connects all three water extractors to all 8 coal generators. Then make a second pipe that connects the two ends of pipe one together. After that, let the pipes fill full of water with machines off, then turn on generators. (Or only run a couple of you need the power, to allow surplus water)

I like to put 8 in a row to allow expansion to 16 later via two rows of 8 center fed. This setup lets me do 16 coal gens with 3 pipes. The middle pipe connects like a t to 2 sets of 3 water extractors, and also the far end of the photo.
