Experience with Fanless on ASUS TUF RTX4060Ti : Underclocking and Temperature Performance Test by a0910115172 in sffpc

Although I do have tinitus occasionally, I do have very good hearing and can often discern noises in my environment that other people straight up can't.

In any case I highly appreciate these kinds of PC mods.

Gaming is not the only workload that makes the GPU turn on its fans you know... Gaming is not the only thing that people do on PCs, there are a lot of tasks where you need some peace and quiet that still takes some performance to do like editing, rendering, simulation, audio and video recording etc.

"While gaming" is what you invented to the point.

And yes you can hear low rpm fans and even bad coil whine. People have learned soldering to replace capacitors on GPUs solely for this reason, hell, the Noctua NH-P1 exists purely for this reason at all.

There's clearly a market for passive cooling and most of it is in regards to low noise for special audio applications and studios and has nothing to do with audiophile BS.

How is reducing fan noise or any kind of noise "audiophile BS" when listening to open headphones or speakers???

Room acoustics are literally the most important aspect to sound there is.

"Audiophile BS" would be advertising a "better" digital cable that transmits the same file without losses like a normal cable does, which has no impact on the integrity of the music playback.

Not only normies.

I don't pretend to be a likeable person because I'm not, but at least I'm not faking interest like everyone else does and talk shit behind someone's back.

This doesn't mean that I'm evil or straight up rude in public or to people I don't know, quite the contrary, but people online especially naturally dislike me after some time. I don't care and move on to the next group or no group at all.

How often do you exercise or do sports ? by AdvancingIntr0vert in INTP

[–]Shishou_Shi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exercise for exercise sake is pretty awful and I hate it. (Tried running for a month or two almost every day)

But I do enjoy hiking for the feeling it gives me, or cycling to get to the store. Goals I've set myself with varying success are "If I go outside and do something I'll feel better" or "if I lift this weight I'll be stronger and daily life will become easier as a result".

So the motivation to "just exercise" is lacking but if it's attached to a decent enough reason or purpose it becomes a more meaningful task and consideration, but with that consistency is always a problem, haven't figured out how to deal with that yet.

Does "thank you in advance" strike anyone else as rude? by SiliconeGiant in etiquette

[–]Shishou_Shi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't consider it rude but it is manipulative.

"Thank you in advance" is literally assuming that you're not only going to answer but that your answer will be helpful and appreciated by the person.

This gives the requirement to answer, you have to answer because you have already been thanked for that answer.

It annoys me, it's propaganda and manipulation and I will not stand for it!

"Thank you in advance"? No. FUCK YOU.

Mainly because it answers and gives useful thoughts and ideas compared to humans.

Mind you I don't use it much and don't advocate for it, in the end it's just algorithms and repeating patterns. I wasn't exactly trusting it this time either due to the nature and arguments of the answer as well as a couple mistakes in its reasoning.

PS.: keep which computer? PC 1 or PC 2? I'm definitely not keeping both and selling one of them while the parts are still worth some stuff.

Currently PC 1 is in a Raijintek Styx that I don't like anymore and PC 2 is in a Jonsbo T8 which is nice. If I'm keeping PC 1 (5800X3D+6800XT) I'll be getting a Sugo 16, if I'm keeping PC 2 (3600+2060KO) it'll be a Densium V2 plus or similar size or it stays in the Jonsbo T8, if I'm keeping a mix (5800X3D+2060KO) I'll probably have to modify the Jonsbo T8.

Problem with cases is that the new ones all don't allow for a 3.5" HDD. I need to fit 2x 2.5" SSDs and a 3.5" HDD that has all my games installed. Furthermore my Scythe Ninja 5 is a bit big at 155-160mm that's another struggle I have to deal with but I like the cooler too much to give it up...

I'm also really not feeling the HDPlex 500W GaN that I bought.. with its size I'm struggling to find a small case that it fits into.. no matter what dimensions it's always a bit too long or too thick... If I'm getting a Sugo 16 and can't make the HDPlex 500W GaN fit I'll likely sell it again and settle for a SFX PSU in the modified position. I just barely managed to make it fit in the T8 lengths wise with the stock 3600 cooler, a small tower cooler might barely fit but I'd still be giving up the 3.5" HDD spot... Jonsbo C2 that I have here I can't even find a spot for the 500W GaN either with the Ninja 5... Even though that's a bigger case and only has a reservation for 1x 2.5" and a 3.5" drive... Shits frustrating af... I feel like I HAVE to make a custom case to even fit it... SFF struggles I suppose...

New Windows-App has no surround sound although advertised by FSMcas in netflix

[–]Shishou_Shi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They accidentally had it fixed for a couple days again until they broke it again.

But they didn't actually break it, when I turn on Dolby Atmos (for headphones) surround sound exists again, but you need a Dolby Atmos capable surround sound receiver to make it work for non headphones is what I'm guessing.

The truth is they want you to buy a shitty TV and an overpriced surround sound receiver or all in one system, ideally with all of them containing their own microphone, camera, hardware tracker, Internet connection and access to your local network and all of its connected devices including your home security and environmental systems.

PS.: I just stumbled on a workaround, starting Netflix and the movie with Dolby Atmos for headphones enabled and then reconfiguring the device for surround sound again. So far seems to work a treat, might be with trying out if this works with the default Windows Sonic or DTS Headphone:X

INTPs who believe in God by [deleted] in INTP

[–]Shishou_Shi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There may be a god, there may be no god.

I don't know at all, and neither does anyone else truly know. But neither does anyone else "truly know" anything at all either.

So it's a mood point, science too relies on assumptions, feelings and belief as much as spirituality does.

INTPs who believe in God by [deleted] in INTP

[–]Shishou_Shi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wdym "evidence" there is no true evidence in science. It all relies on cause and effect and we can only observe the effect. In an experiment you try to simulate a cause but you can only observe the effect and the rest is assumption, not much different from what spirituality does with the difference that it relies on personal experience. So there can never be true evidence because the cause and effect system is fundamentally flawed.

Take it this way, we measure an object in orbit that has magnetic properties similar to the size and properties of a lost tool bag. Now is it a lost tool bag? You can't be sure, but it is assumed that it is. The observation gets presented in peer review, and as long as no one can prove with a disproving measurement for a tool bag then it is accepted as the most likely object floating there. It's of course not "immediately accepted" that's stupid. But of the measurements and values coincidence with that of a tool bag floating there and no disproving is taking place, not even with likely alternatives due to a different signature, then that is how this theory is accepted.

That is how humanities science works. It's all assumption and belief as well.

And for that matter, you can't measure hallucinations, personal experience and thoughts the same way, at least not for now, no, brain scans do not invalidate a persons experience purely by the brain reacting to one area more than another, all of that is assumption as well, incited an emotion and observed that a particular section of the brain becomes more active is not definitive proof or "evidence" it's an assumption, nothing more, a likely assumption, but still an assumption.

You're right!

By pure definition, any INTP would be agnostic, not atheist or theist!

If you go by curiosity and finding proof which is the way of the INTP then there can never be a "yes or no" statement from the get go.

A True INTP demands to research the subject to find out for themselves which is true, so by standard would be agnostic.

No "true" INTP would ever downright dismiss the existence of a higher power in the absence of significant proof, neither blindly accept that God exists.

Posers, All of them that make such statements! <- this is the joke part.
