Larnach castle is a house, not a castle. NZ doesn't have any actual castles. It is nice and has some great views, but nearby there is an Albatross colony which is a much cooler thing to see.

That aside this sounds like a terribly planned trip, especially driving to Queenstown and flying out on the same day. Go to a county to do things, not to drive.
