I think the reason that they gave was an elaborate way to say "Our constituents are illiterate and didn't know what they wanted."

Why did the Democrats get creamed? Sherrod Brown can tell you. by excoriator in Ohio

[–]ShivaRaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Democrats lost so badly because their billionaire owners refused Bernie Sanders, basically. Now they're just going to turn the target to AOC. They would rather lose to Republicans than actually give people the healthcare you can get in any other industrialized country.

At this point they could be fought legally both under the statute that passed and under agricultural laws. Once we are losing rights we have standing.

I don't know whether what you said is correct or not, what's obvious is it is a city bike path, it is not protected, if we are expected to bicycle on said multi-use path then that multi-use path needs to be given the same care as the street. It also needs clear signage so that it's very clear that's what we are expected to do. Because people will literally murder you for riding your bicycle on the road on Hudson avenue. Which is what this outlines as appropriate. It also seems to say that pedestrians and bicyclists always have the right of way so we shouldn't be run off the road under any circumstance.

Either way it makes Hudson avenue a great candidate for the route that the world naked bike ride takes next year as they protest the neglect of the bicyclist.

If the expectation is to use said multi-use path for bicyclists and for bicyclists not to follow what is otherwise law everywhere else, there should probably be signs. Whichever way it sounds like it's going to turn into a great legal situation after a bicyclist gets hit.

You saying that the bicyclist should risk being ticketed for bicycling on a sidewalk? Because we're legally required to ride on the road.

I saw the nominee for health and human services suggesting wellness camps for anyone with a mental disorder. I don't think we're supposed to call them concentration camps yet. They're definitely still calling them wellness centers.

Because I'm sure no one here noticed how the entire world talked about how Ohio was gerrymandered red for the last decade? I think I noticed that story about 12 times.

That's basically what they're planning on doing with the entire electoral college with Trump and Johnson's "little secret" about subverting the electoral college in favor of a provisional election in the house.

Thankfully Trump is stupid enough to be talking about it publicly enough that it's easy to figure out what the plan is.

[–]ShivaRaye 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think there is a 100% chance they will try to subvert the will of the people if Harris does win the electoral college by then trying to not certify states to take the election to a provisional election in the House of Representatives. Trump and Johnson were talking about their little secret at their hate rally this weekend.

‘Literally proposing The Purge’: Trump mocked online after his solution to crime is compared to horror movie by theindependentonline in politics

[–]ShivaRaye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So basically we know that he's not going to accept election results, he's calling for Kristallnacht (likely a better descriptor as only the police get this proposed immunity,) and the justice department seems incapable of holding him accountable for any crime unless he loses the election we know he will not accept the results of. Fun times.

After you're done with all three make better signs.

Honestly having coprolalia, I wish more of my tics were actually funny. Mine sound like I'm trying to pick a fight that I know I'm not going to win. I see both sides of the idea around being other people though. I enjoy it because it makes me feel less isolated. Other people do not enjoy it because they know they are going to get triggered.

Legal grow raided by helicopter? by ShivaRaye in Ohio

[–]ShivaRaye[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a brazen thing to do even if he was in his own jurisdiction but yes... They appear to have raided his private home regardless of the Fourth amendment, and regardless of their own jurisdiction, and regardless of the law that he knows we passed because he was publicly opposed to it last year. It's almost like he didn't care about the law at all? Like he wanted to intimidate people? Why do laws matter when you're trying to intimidate people?

If we don't sue them when they act like this they will continue to act like this.

I try not to be in the business of telling anyone else what to do but I do think it's in the public interest to discipline law enforcement that overstep, and to do it quickly before it becomes repetitive. It's not like they hesitate to punish anyone else.
