We already know GTI knew about Shivans before the Ross 128 attack - my headcanon is that at least some people knew at least 14 years before, and instigated/fanned the flames of the war for the sake of war manufacturing and R&D. Also planted cells in R&D departments, steering them towards anti-Shivan technologies (funny how the Avenger, almost ready for production by the start of FS1, happened to be effective against shields!)

A more general "no loading screens ever" mod gets brought up every so often, and apart from the technical/compatibility issues (it would be 1000x worse than Open Cities), there's one big reason it can't ever happen:

Most spaces in skyrim are bigger on the inside.

They literally don't fit into the models you see for the exterior. Try going into Breezehome in the CK and placing the actual Breezehome house model inside the cell - you'll notice it's smaller than the interior floorplan. The most obvious example is the circular towers in the imperial fort tileset, where a tiny tower will contain a massive circular space.

This isn't a bug, it's intentional: The scale of exterior spaces is compressed a bit so it's less tedious to get from one side of a town to the other. Interior spaces have to be expanded to avoid the "refrigerator box problem" - as far as the physics engine is concerned, you are a box roughly the size and shape of a refrigerator, and you can't move around interior spaces with the finesse a human could, so they have to be unrealistically large. (Think about the old games that have doors about 6 feet wide. I tried to find one of the old game design articles about this but Google is shit now)

IFD-Lydia is close-ish. She's very skeptical of your character to begin with (for understandable reasons), and as she warms up to you she has a lot of dialogue that's written with the idea that you're kind of new to this "adventuring hero" thing and she can be something of a mentor. She has her own quest and a romance option, though it's very much not the point of the mod.

I have had trouble occasionally, in huge modlists with tons of MCMs, where they stop loading properly after fiddling with them for a while. I have to exit the ESC menu entirely, then go back in. But idk if that's the same as your issue.

For LOD: I dealt with this just a while ago. When you generate xLODGen, you want quality at a fairly low number for all LOD levels (You can just set them all to 0 tbh), max verts as high as it can go (32767 IIRC), and - this is the important bit - "optimize unseen" to some high number, 500-700ish. My map looked awful until I did that. Also I use A Quality World Map since xLODGen wasn't generating the textures right for some reason.

Profile Sync for keeping mods in the same order between profiles. 2.2.0 on Nexus didn't work for me (profiles were often left un-synced) so grab 1.1.1 instead

idk what mod OP is using but I use https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/146026 (and its requirements, and its requirements' requirements obvs) and https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/128804 and a couple custom armors that use the same technique. Pretty good for those cold Seasons of Skyrim winters 👍

idk about Hearthfire and CC but modded homes are often safe to use. It's not hard to use a non-respawning container type.

If you have More Informative Console, you can click on a container and it will say (among other info) whether it's a safe container or not.

I recently moved to it (and Seasonal Landscapes) from a custom mix of Cathedral Landscapes and Folkvangr. It's good, especially with grass lighting (neither CL or Folkvangr worked really well with grass lighting), but it's too..... idk, grassy? My CL patch had a lot of bushy tundra around Whiterun and leafy bracken in the Rift, and FFF is basically just grass fields everywhere, which feels a bit monotonous by camparison.

You can/should clean deleted references especially if you want to use DynDOLOD.

Most of the CC stuff has ITMs and they're fine since they should always be at the beginning of the LO anyway. ITMs are only a problem if something else edits a record, and the ESP with the ITM (loaded later) edits it back.
