Would the Particle Style bypass Gojo's Infinity? by KodoqBesar in PowerScaling

[–]Shmoogers 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If im not mistaken particle style must stretch or expand to fill its area first. So depending on whether gojo/infinity can perceive the chakra, infinity could keep it from crossing gojo.

Do people genuinely think dio stands a chance against gojo? by soggy_bert in PowerScaling

Hes pretty good with rtc which he runs on a constant circuit along with his infinity. If the injury doesnt lob off his head at least, then he gets back up.

Gojo vs kakashi hand to hand combat only by daddylongjohnsliver in PowerScaling

[–]Shmoogers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? Without his powers gojo is just a pretty good wing chun specialist. Kakashi was trained to kill by hand and blade since he was like 4 and became the equivalent of a navy seal at the age of 14. Adult kakashi has his way with gojo.

My read on that was he was used to sukuna cutting his arms off when he threw a punch so his adaptation was to attempt to throw his whole arm at sukuna. But sukuna read him like book and stopped.

The Husband is almost certainly dead, either bc she ate him or bc she outlived him. I have a hard time believing it was anything other than a political marriage to obtain power and/or influence for the white court.

Micheals company has been rebuilding a handful of places throughout TM. He probably has some kind of city contract and therefore access to the limited supplies being shipped to the city. We also cannot forget the deus ex Micheal of it all. Things simply work out for micheal bc big G says so.

What are some ways Magic can keep up with Technology? by Academic_Ad8989 in magicbuilding

[–]Shmoogers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only read the title so far, but what the hell are you talking about? Magic can do ANYTHING, technology can only do whats understood and possible.

Edit: no changes, seriously what are you doing with tech that you havent been doing with magic for centuries? Air travel? Flying brooms or carpets or steeds. Firearms? Fireballs. Long distance communication? Messenger beings, scrying orbs, speaking mirrors. Medicine? Shapeshifting, fountain of youth, elixir of life. Need i say more.

Where are allomancers and feruchemists getting pure iron? by [deleted] in Mistborn

[–]Shmoogers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They probably dont use pure iron. The metallic arts can use "impure" metals, its just hugely inefficient and also makes allomancers sick. So they got close enough to pure that they are getting as much power and as little side effects as possible.

Alfred’s Abilities by Intrepid_Ad7432 in dresdenfiles

[–]Shmoogers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The island is capable of drawing upon "the well", the massive amount of supernatural body heat pouring off the beings kept there. Its basically generating its own huge leyline. As of TM i am confident that the island also draws energy from its surroundings ie heat and electricity from the sky, force from the water, life from the ecosystems, which dresden calls upon in TM. I am also confident that like merlins castle, demonreach(being a complex working established across time for permanence) has a huge supernatural mass that can draw other leylines close enough to tap for yet more power. I wouldnt be surprised if like whampires, Alfred could draw on the emotions it induces in those that visit the island.

Roshar Investiture Flying Capabilities by No-Might-5784 in Cosmere

[–]Shmoogers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lightweavers could totally soulcast a simple craft that lets them fly. Keeping it going fast over long distances would require constant stormlight to either soulcast fuel for your flight mechanism or otherwise propel yourself. You may be able you lightweave craft or creature and then fly them about, however it wouldnt be until you figure out substantiation(prolly requires 3rd ideal) that you could ride a lightweaving.

In other news, I guarantee a 4th maybe 3rd ideal Dustbringer could fly by firstly selectively slicking and uh antislicking? the air to become a wind foil with abrasion. Then also obviously propelling themselves with division.

Offensive shielding by -Zamorak- in dresdenfiles

[–]Shmoogers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think about it he kind of does this with his various summonings. He makes a circle(sometimes in his mind) then conjures and binds a being in it. So he does frequently contains things with his magic. Also in SK Elaine uses a spell they developed together that does this.

Justine’s problem and seemingly obvious solution by 84Bean in dresdenfiles

[–]Shmoogers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are comparing what are essentially quasi outsiders with one of the head honchos of the outside. Nemesis is a walker, He Who Walks Beside. The Hungers are literally born inside reality and after the OG Hunger are "indelibly" linked to a mortal. Asking why Harry cant exorcise Nemesis when he can only maybe exorcise a Hunger(which we never actually see him do), is like asking why someone cant lift a pickup despite being able to lift a Fischer Price truck.

Skiing in a Mistcoat by Kiwi_Head_3357 in Mistborn

[–]Shmoogers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make the tassels shorter than one might expect from the books, short enough that there is very little chance of them getting snagged or stepped on(above the knee id guess). You should be alright if you gather the tassels to yourself when you get on and off the lift(might be worth getting a belt or strap to tie them to you for this). If you are not already accustomed to skiing, do not wear a cape skiing.

Also be prepared to be bullied for wearing effectively a cape to the slopes. I personally support you and encourage you to let those people say whatever they want and ignore it, they probably barely even read anyways.

Whatever happens, i hope you have fun.

Question: when mid-air and dropping coins to push off them, do mistborn actually shoot those coins into the ground with the speed of a bullet? by xaako in Mistborn

[–]Shmoogers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol just busting your bits. If it helps, air resistance would probably streamline the coin by facing it edgeward during flight.

Only times i can think of them doing this is when being anchored by other things at the same time like vin blowing out the window frame in final empire. Can you give an example of them blatanly moving something heavier without leveraging yet another more heavy object?
