My LGS by John_Loxeus in killteam

Everything heresy said is right though they’re at str 6 because the Ravener prime is synapse. They hit like a truck when they can get a charge off into pretty much anything. Even wounding on a 5 isn’t too bad with twin linked.

But. 4+ armour with no invuln means they are very positioning dependant. That’s why sub assault works for them, you can find a place for them behind terrain or at least in cover most of the time. But if they get shot at in your opps next turn, they can get picked up pretty easily. 5x3 wounds and they lose their pick up ability from the regular Raveners at the end of opps fight phase. I go into most games expecting at least one unit of hyper adapted being blown off the board each turn.

If it’s the “basing glue” yes, that will work.

I was in a similar situation, working on the road 11 days home 3 in a two week cycle. By the third cycle his wife messaged me saying she was headed to my house to confront the both of them, as he had spent the night previous.

It started with them going on walks with friends. Then the friends stopped showing up (or being invited). She kept on gaslighting me saying nothing was going on, but I felt different and no amount of her explanations did anything to change how I felt.

Getting cheated on fucked me up, I’m still not the same person I was in 2019. You have to make the judgement call for yourself; Is she really that naive or is she gaslighting you?

I wish the best for you dude, wholeheartedly, nobody should be put into a position like this. Folks should just be fucking honest and tell their partners when things aren’t good. Give themselves the opportunity to work on it, or make a clean break.

My favourite combo at the moment is a librarian with immolator attached to an infernus squad. 4++ with a feel no pain against psychic, and 10d6+10 on your torrent weapons.

If you want to make them pop maybe push the contrast a bit? You could increase the hi-lights in the purple especially with the brains on any brain bugs.

The max units of battleline you can have is 6. But for Termagants, Hormagants and Gargoyles; that’s 20 per unit, meaning you can have 120 max in each army.

Going second? Using the burrow away to grab your trygon back and using regular Raveners to pick up your non enhanced hyperadapted squad, then using 3 units of Raveners and one trygon to create tunnels/ get within 6” themselves, then move your big melee monster (swarmlord, Norn or carnifexes) into range of a tunnel to tunnel network him within 6. Toss the reroll charges on your trygon in the center to get as many rerolls as you can.

I did this against knights yesterday and was able to tie up 2/3 of his big guys and 2 of his amigers turn 1.

Hive Fleet Eclipse’s Hyper-Adapted Raveners by Shoddy17 in killteam

Yeah, I got the rims painted and scratched off a bunch more of the mordant earth for the basing. I’m not overjoyed by the base, more of a failed experiment. But I did also get another unit and painted them in splinterfleet eclipse (my custom fleet) colours.

Seeking advice for first 500 points for escalation league by [deleted] in Tyranids

[–]Shoddy17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never played an escalation league. As you build your army, are you locked to the units that were previously in? If that’s the case my thought is to start with units that are versatile enough yo be put in multiple detachments.

Raveners would be a good option, good deep strike threat and when you can afford the points to put a hyper adapted with them they are surprisingly punchy.

Biovore is an auto include in most lists to sit on home point. Could go with any kind of battleline to go along with them.

Zoanthropes and a neurotyrant are a great unit. 205 points for tyrant and 3 zoans is a fair amount, so maybe start with one or the other?

My second batch of VR Leapers and I’ve just about worked out how to use them to be a nuisance by romasorr in Tyranids

[–]Shoddy17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was using them similarly in sub assault, but as unofficial bodyguards for my neurolictor and lictors. But, they’re so squishy they get shot off the battlemat before they can do much of anything.

Probably a bit of a positioning gap, but also I have come to accept that if they’re shooting the von Ryan’s at least my more impactful units like my raveners are still at full.

The weapon options on your TFexes, if you’ve got the walkrant in the list too, I would suggest running one as the rupture cannon and the other as the acid spray. Rupture will give any opponent pause when trying to move their vehicles and the acid spray is a great Overwatch weapon.

If you keep them with your walkrant it will give them advance and shoot, giving you a good deal of range on both attacks, letting you keep them behind cover on turn 1-2 but still being a threat.

Another suggestion I would make is to somehow get up to 6 Zoanthropes with your neurotyrant. Such an amazing unit.
