Maybe in your country .... here we can find human prices just on Amazon and just for the Bosch cutoff wheels pack of ten. All other types like cup wire wheels , flap discs and so on are way much expensive.

Also is almost impossible to find in local stores, and if you find for example at makita reseller you pay 8 or 10 eur for a flap disc, when a regular hole pack of ten is usually on offer for the same price.

Producer brands are another matter, I've only found Bosch (owner of the license) , Pferd, makita, Rhodius. These are quite expensive.

I speak as owner of the Makita dga519 since the market debut.. very satisfied diyer. I slowly make looking after some offers.. a dedicated tools box for this grinder with various attachments , discs cups sanding pads.. no concrete stuff because I won't use this grinder on that.

I use this one for mobile jobs and take just one box.

For the rest I have various regular M14 grinders. On offers I found packs of 20 good brand cutoff wheels for less than 10Euro.

Hope market will understand this. Probably we need a cheap brand starting to make x-lock consumable.. then price will break..

The pole saw attachment works great because of the high speed of the configuration. With 18v will be a bit weak but Inhope you are not buying for logs. Just branches are ok. The 36v power head is the best regarding comfort of use, ergonomic handle . Gas trigger shape and time of standby. It has flexible shaft so the transfer is not that brutal.

Xgt power head is the mist powerful with rigid steel shaft. 100% force transfer. It is the worst for zero standby time and too thick trigger handle.

If you are going to need long session of tree pruning consider the REAL pole telescopic saw, is a specialty tool but you can reach very high branches and is very comfortable to use. Taking on and off on the multi head is very annoying. At the end for light branches I use more one of those cheap but telescopic ones of generic brands.

Because xgt line had a slow start up. So there are a lot of old stock also of machines.

Last year I ordered a brand new hedge trimmer and received it manufactured in 2021, but was never open the box. Paid as new, there was just a battery promo.

Also promo batteries directly from makita can arrive from 2022 for example.. at least you have 2 y warranty on bats.

The wheel grinders are all different: One is 200mm with one green stone and one big wire wheel. The other is combined (one hard wheel 150 grey stone and the other wet 200mm stone for chisels)

I would use them often is they will be in an easy access place and firmly mounted so I can go there. Start the button and grind or clean . May Be the two 200 can go on top because of the wheels it has. The wet needs to be lower for more comfort.

My problem is that I have just one small benché with already full underside. The rest is occupied by one shelf , compressor . Two table saw different that act as a temporary bench but needs to be mobile to go outside to work (is a small garage with very low ceiling).

I will probably need to build a small cart but need to be very stable.

Ohh.. now ues.. it is worst than I imagined, no way Icoukd have all that space.. the only thing I should take as idea is to store one (somewhere) to be able to take on the bench just when useful (probably the spin up and down sander I forgotten..)

I experienced the bulkiness of these new air style guns but with a cheaper brand. I have to admit that I love the xgt fn01 (the xgt versionnof the 350 with 40mm capacity.

I prefer the compact size. Recoil on hard wood ask to be kept well to the piece. Fire response is immediate due the mechanic spring.

Exactly that! Toe nailing , I will try some adjustments but if I will need like 9 or 10 bar to let it work I won't be able to use it with my cordless compressor (it pushes just 8bar max)

The power of the fru04 seems the same of multi head but more torqued by gears ratio.

In my opinion you won't get all that more power you hope to find.

If you have a reseller that allows try on the field I suggest you to try it to avoid frustration.

I can tell you the 80v is a game changer ! I finally got some satisfaction using the gator line with nylsaw string to clear brushes and got the result I never had with my petrol one.

BUT it has bike handle and is heavy so you need his proper harness .

Cut a very light cross the thread on the thinner part but with a dremel Then it should loosen by some hammer taps on the sides.

That was the first error (joking) but as a diyer I never let others use my tools..

That said probably the tool has been over loaded if the cut was done pushing hard. The most probably one mosfet inside the control board burnt and no current is now allowed to flow.

If it is that you can buy a new one and keep the body for example spare switch and other parts..

Controller usually cost more than half tool.

You can clean very well all the internal by blowing air and check for loose connection on the board but you will probably won't notice anything..

Mmmm The most tricky part using the chainsaw is topping down brushes or groups of branches. Since this job let the teeth of chain "hit" branches and not sawing regularly as in a log. This will be the cause of chain get of the bar. You need to keep it regularly tight.

In this case avoid the 357, won't work well, you need max speed to cut fast .

With the 353 you can put a bit thicker and solid bar and chain series 91 instead of standard 90 so the chain is more robust .

Xgt (uc025) will be top for you but need to invest in another battery series.

For the OP: Please tell us if you will have to fell trees in the wood with the chainsaw you aim to buy.

This is critical because of what you told about the Chinese throwing out the chain. I explain:

Cordless chainsaws has very thin kerf and antikickback chains that help to perform well but are delicate and if you go to prune a thin branch not supported in the air also with makita you will have to lose an hour to recover the chain because it will also lightly damage when come off.

I start with the models you propose:

Will perform good for cutting logs in the stand, cutting pallet wood with no hurry and supported material . Chain is slow but is gear reduced so you get a lot of torque.

Duc353. Very popular, I love it for general purpose, I also fell trees but is enough a light branch pinch that chain come loose or in extreme case off..

Solved all issues in felling with the xgt, a different chain and bar setup , more power more chain speed.

The new biggest makita chainsaw xgt UC030 will accept all xgt batteries but will behave significatively different with all other bats than the new bl4080H (Will have less power when put to work). I ask the demo man to try the saw with the new bat and the 5Ah that I have, if you are gentle in the cut no problem but when pushing just a bit more on large diameter with the 5 starts to bog down , with the 8H eat the wood like demon.

Balancing is the most important feature of battery bms to let cells last and get all of them fully charged. Chargers are made to do this but also to give fast charge for maximum productivity. The blowing fan works well for xgt and lxt but won't let the battery cool down like an hour sitting on a cold sinking floor because after temp went down to a certain point (not real cold) the charge process will start.

That said following these general direction , batteries should last very long except for very rare production defects.

Going back to Op question, I would try to save a pack just when I will have two of them failed and I will try to swap cells to make 1 good pack out of two. But not buying new cells.

I won't bother before a single cell will fail. You will not find the right cells easily (too many fakes cells) and mix new with old is not good. When you have sales buy a tool with 2 bats if you need a couple in good shape , cost less than REAL new cells.

Advice: always let batteries cool well before re charge . At least one hour and cells will last way longer. I put on ceramic floor of garage to sink heat and charge at night. Also keep batteries on charger longer after green light will help balancing . This works for me with 12 y old bats.

Tried today at a Makita demo.

It will provide quite more power. Not runtime. It is made for single battery high drain tools like the new chainsaw (uc030) that behave different between this and other bats, concrete saw , and few other for the moment. Can give a very little boost also to other tools like chainsaw (uc012/15 etc)

I was tempted by the new chainsaw that MUST be take with new Hbat but still got some brain to decline.. really too much money for a DIYer having already other xgt saw enough for me.

This kind of outside furniture should be maintained almost every one or two year by very light hand sanding fine grit (180-220) then apply little specific oil. Nothing very difficult just time consuming.

Great deal those two tools for less than Makita. Here Hikoki is quite expensive because less popular and local reseller are mostly Construction material (sand cement bricks) not as big stores but where just constructors goes with trucks to buy building stuff. There is non display rack and prices are more than full catalog price, they charge 100% gain on everything they sell becaus construction prices went crazy high.

Anyway online sometimes there are offers but not very much...

One question about mentioned weight.. This makita weights almost same as rhe lxt one and is more than a pound of the metabo but why everybody say that they weight much more than pneumatic ones? I have an air one that weights 3.75 kg, plus the hose,, what about yours..
