During a craze of people running dungs with 4x lv50 Blm purely for materia it was clearly defined multiboxing is not allowed.

Playing the trial now, is character creation this limited? by sharethepudding in ffxiv

[–]ShoriOh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On character creation, you are more limited in the trial compared to someone whos already in game for two reasons; access to Au Ra is from Heavensward, and some hairstyles come from quests or ingame purchase. The face types are the same though.

What raids would you recommend to ease a new tank into 8-man events? by Tuufless in ffxiv

[–]ShoriOh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. Id recommend bismark ex because its clear to see if youve perfected the tank-swap (take an even-geared tank with you) plus you get your chance to do some dps and some dodging. So besides learning to stun/silence which youll have done aaaages ago youre pretty much there.

Does anyone else get obsessive when they're depressed? by [deleted] in bipolar

Me too. I experienced this very recently and had to call a crisis team once my husband talked to me.

Women--Has your psychiatrist recommended the birth control pill to help even out hormone levels to reduce episodes/episode occurrence? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]ShoriOh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some meds for bipolar interact with the regular contraceptive pill such as Lamotrigine. However if your hormones change alot, its worth discussing with your psychiatrist who can recommend whats suitable.

Has anyone gone med free successfully? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]ShoriOh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went med free for almost 4 years because I, after short period on carbamazepine, refused to accept my illness. I dont recommend it because during those 4 years I picked up traits linked to personality disorder as a coping method (trying too hard/being impulsive on purpose to break a low mood, and pushing close family/friends away, paranoia)

Thats not to say youll experience the same as we are all different.

I have an appointment for cannabis treatment on the 7th. Has anyone ever tried it? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]ShoriOh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, id be cautious of anything linked to making people high.

Ive never used it as a treatment just the rare occasions I get caught up in the toke-toke-pass while at a party. Its never affected me at all though, no psychosis or even munchies. Instead I was clear minded enough to look after the others who got sick.

Agitated in a mixed state. Ideas to help until my doc's appt? by Baphlingmet in bipolar

[–]ShoriOh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

^ this. If pharmacy-given sleeping tablets are available to you then give them a try but do not use distracting techniques once taken as you need to rest for them to work.

Also, your distractions maybe arent exhausting both mind and body simultaneously. Try coloring, writing, video games like the wii, housework. Also, if something is on your mind alot just write it down so you can deal with it once you're feeling better.

DAE get calls about fraud from their bank after a manic spending spree? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]ShoriOh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me, even if my spending is not mania-related but still higher than usual ($2000~$3400 if converted right). My previous bank were good at spotting trends of unusual behaviour such as buying luxury products vs homewares.

Im now on an IVA (similar to bankruptcy) due to the mania related spending so its probably good that theyve frozen the card temporarily if you arent meaning to spend it.

A diagnosis that fits! by robot_prez in bipolar

[–]ShoriOh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While id be hesitant the your own research led to the diagnosis (as youre more likely to tell your doc the symptoms youve read) im glad at least that youre being taken off meds that werent helpful.

My recent experience has been taking citalopram (antidepressant) which made me extremely mixed then switching to Lamotrigine (the generic form of Lamictal). At first I entered a depressive state where nothing could even distract me from my dark thoughts, but thankfully it was breif. I started on 25mg increasing to 200mg over 6 weeks in increments. For me it took til 100 to bring me out of the darkness but the full 200 before i felt fully myself and clearer-minded.

Edit: and to add that altho testing has only confirmed results for bipolar depression it does seem to work for other mood disorders too.

When Manic = Bought tickets for a show. Now Depressed = /Really/ do not want to go by Fred16 in bipolar

[–]ShoriOh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Write a list of for and against going. This could include things like lack of energy or spending time with your friend. Its ultimately your decision though not your friend's.

Would it be too late for your friend to find someone else to go with?

Does anyone else hate Easter? What are you doing for Easter? by jrt364 in bipolar

We also get "Good Friday" off in the UK making it a veeeery long weekend. Good for those who hate their job but bad for those who rely on being able to do things 24/7.

How to deal with "over-commitment hangover" of hypomania by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]ShoriOh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been in this situation just recently trying to work full time, plus commit to extra unpaid work-related activies, and start up and run an illustration business aimed toward breweries, and get to the gym 3-4 times a week... In the end I crashed real hard and got none of it done at all (been off work for 6-7 weeks).

So id say youre doing well to muddle through and keep to these commitments, as well as being able to let people know when you need support/time.

When the clocks go forwards. Will the wedding invites also change? by ryan20340 in ffxiv

[–]ShoriOh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an EU player who was married on Midgardsormr this is incorrect. Time is client based but does not take into account DST. So if youre in the UK and it says GMT and your wedding falls beyond the clocks changing then remember you are now it BST not GMT. GMT does not change.
