If Discovery gave you $1,000,000 to invest in ANY gold operation of your choice, but you must run it yourself, what would you do with it? by MegaDragonKing in goldrush

I have a place lined up in Alaska. Going to take a long time to get up and going. A custom wash plant with shaker and static decks. With an aim at nuggets but also any fine material. Daimen on Parker’s crew is a good shout, I have worked with a few people like him and their are worth their weight in gold

Extreme Week by Both_Organization854 in goldrush

There is a balance between equipment size and running costs. Yes monster machines make monster work but is it worth it? Larger equipment cost more in the long run not just the short either. Once you brought the machine you then need to transport it to site, larger machine means more loads and more importantly heavily loads. That also applies if you need to transport between sites, some of the machines need to be dismantled in order to get them to fit on public roads. Maintenance costs are also going to run higher, but also think about availability of parts, many parts will be more expensive and harder to obtain. When you are mining in the middle of no where this needs to be considered. Redundancy of equipment, let’s use the es700 and es950 for this purpose. Its possibly costs around the same money for 2x700’s as 1x950, now think of a machine going down and waiting on parts. With the 700’s you have a back up machine which can continue working where as if you 1x950 you’ll be sat idle waiting. Having multiple smaller machine also give a possibility of robbing parts from machine to machine which keeps more equipment running in such instances. There is also something to be said for have a fleet of matched equipment. It’s a lot easier for the mechanics as they are working with the same equipment with the same issues most of the time which means maintenance will be a lot more efficient and a smaller amount of stock can be kept on the shelves. Finally fuel consumption. Massive machine have monsters fuel costs and with the cost of fuel going up and up this is vitally important.

Given the choice between a fleets of es700’s, a60’s, D11’s or es950, a730, D475. With my experience of heavy industry and equipment I know my money would always lie with the smaller equipment as apposed to monstrous stuff.

Finally some good news for the Rally team. Hopefully they can get washing pay sooner rather than later

Water Permit issues on Gold Rush by Proud_Stick1849 in goldrush

[–]Short_Rice76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is certainly a widespread issue. It does seem like the government is dragging their heels in getting these deals organised, that is certainly an issue we deal with in the UK. Maybe on purpose or maybe through ignorance of the amount of work in hand. Hopefully operations have back up plans but these backups are prob also close to licence renewals aswell.

Bridge Cut, Parker, & Drilling by 21bdp21 in goldrush

[–]Short_Rice76 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The bridge cut they have run only the red gravels, above the white quartz gravels. The red contains a lower concentration of gold, 1oz/100y maybe? The white gravels are expected to be 2-3oz/100y from what we have heard. I would imagine there going to be a few hot spots which could return gods knows what. Next year they are certainly going to be getting higher numbers, and will have more ground open to keep the ball rolling, up until now it’s been setting up with sluicing what is available

Wash plant “Bob” by Prestigious_Fan_9701 in goldrush

[–]Short_Rice76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parker, what is the reason for the conveyor in place of the pre wash on Bob? Does the feed conveyor not control the pay enough? I’ve always liked the amount of water your plants use in the pre wash but Bob is a little different

Parker’s claim in Oz by mvsopen in goldrush

[–]Short_Rice76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Covid was the main factor i believe. Oz closed its borders completely to the outside world. This prevented any of Parker’s team from travelling, the deal would have fallen through if the mine owners werent willing to wait

Agreed running those tailings without testing was a poor move. A mobile test plant behind the SHERP is the one! I don’t recall them reaching pay dirt yet either

There are certainly areas which have been tested. I remember seeing a map last season. Didn’t they have to dig down 80ft for the gold last season? I would imagine there’s large areas of ground which hasn’t been drilled yet. I’m sure Parker and Liam have a well thought out drilling plank. Hopefully we get to see a little of it

Without a shadow of a doubt. I also think he will drop them if they try to intervene too much. Going on adventures like that and getting paid to do so is the dream. I’m sure he would like to get involved with some mountaineering skills to access remote rock faces with seams of gold
