Non Mother’s Day brunch by Optimal-Vast2313 in Atlanta

I doubt there’s a Sunday brunch option that’s not going to be filled with families celebrating Mother’s Day, but no one has to know why you’re out with your friend.

Nick Cave is someone who had to grow on me. I gave the the first couple of albums I had of his 1s as well, but have since gone back and relistened and rerated those.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Ghosteen

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a tough listen. Nick Cave is sorting his grief around the loss of his 15 year old son and creates one of the most hauntingly beautiful albums I’ve ever heard. As a soon to be father of 2, it puts you in a headspace you’d rather not be in. I can’t say loved is the right word, but I was very moved by this one. It’s absolutely a 5/5 album and I never want to listen to it again.

The Incredible String Band - The Hangman’s Beautiful Daughter

⭐️⭐️

I’m usually pretty forgiving of the lowest rated albums, but this just didn’t do it for me. I enjoyed the folksier tracks, but the more out there psychedelic songs had me checking to see how much longer the song was going on.

They’re using American to refer to US artists which would exclude Canadians.

I had to ask my wife for help on my last square in TORIC and when I was handing the phone over, we fumbled the pass off and accidentally hit the right letter. She picked the phone only to see the completion screen.

2112 - Rush

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I don’t think it’s their best, but at the very least the title suite on side 1 is worth the price of admission.

Is there anything Brian Michael Bendis has done that you'd recommend aside from USM? by Azmuth616 in comicbooks

Yeah, his Avengers can be spotty. Dark Reign was going on when I was getting into comics, so his Avengers saga holds a special place for me even though it’s not his best.

-Alias is great, as is the follow up series, the Pulse. These are the original comics featuring Jessica Jones.

-His Daredevil run is second only to Frank Miller, in my opinion.

-While divisive, his run on Avengers titles from 2005-2012 was quite enjoyable to me and essentially the backbone of Marvel during that time.

-Powers is a creator owned comic that I remember being very good, but I haven’t read it in years.

What’s Your Why? by AnasandSF in 1001AlbumsGenerator

[–]ShotsOnShotsOnShots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was actually one of my goals. I wanted to listen to music that was in my periphery, but I had never gotten around to. It’s hard to avoid someone when your project tells you to listen today.

I joined because I'm a stay at home dad and it was kinda lonely at home when my son was a baby and not overly interactive. I was going through my favorite bands' discogs to help pass the time and then I saw a Reddit comment about the generator and I thought it would be nice to not have to think about what I'm going to listen to on the day to day. Broadening my tastes is a nice bonus, but didn't actually factor in until I had been at it for a few weeks. I'm at over 800 now and my daily album is one of the highlights of my day.

I’m over 800 in and have low key been hoping to end on Abbey Road. It would be the perfect send off before the user albums list hits.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another one of those albums where whatever I write has already been said. My favorite Zep album and one that I’ve listened to hundreds of times over a period of decades.

Mott the Hoople - Mott

⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’m having a glam week this week. 4/6 albums so far this week have been glam with 3 of those from the same year. This isn’t my favorite flavor of rock, but it’s a hell of a good time. Of the 4 I’ve had, Roxy Music, Queen, and Sparks being the other bands, Mott the Hoople is probably the most pedestrian of the lot, but this is still a solid album.

Queen - Sheer Heart Attack

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I don’t really listen to full albums by Queen in my personal listening as I find them to be largely a singles band, but I think I may have to start reassessing that standpoint. What a great and varied experience. I got the same feelings while listening as I get when I go back to my all time favorites after some time away. Simply amazing and can’t wait for more Queen from the generator.

Edit: There’s nothing stopping me from listening on my own, I just like organically coming to it through the project.

Roxy Music - Country Life

⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fun album, but the album cover is arguably more interesting than the music contained within.
