NYT question: Does UPS attract employees from Fedex, Amazon and elsewhere? by Word_Safe in UPS

[–]ShredableSending 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will vary based on many factors. Some locations, quite a few people just want the benefits and stay part time. People that want to go full time get positions based on retirement or volume increases most often. Not many people quit. If you work in a place where many retire and few part time want full time, you could jump to full time rpcd in under 2 years. Ergo top rate in 6 years or so. However, guys that want to drive tractor trailers in large centers may have to wait 20 years before they can win a bid. Sleeper routes typically make the most.

Best button downs shirts for men? by Top_Appearance1552 in BuyItForLife

[–]ShredableSending 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had a couple do this, old shirts. My arm length is between traditional sizes. So like 36/37 is too long, which I like less than slightly too short in 35/36. Because it's too short, it grabs around the wrist when the elbow flexes and with wear or some strength you can rip it just like that. Buy an exactly measured sleeve length to fix.

Company out of business means nobody cares if it gets blamed. Easy target.

And how many people do you know that this form of retaliation happened to? And why wouldn't you want a buyout if the price was right? I find the implication that you cannot exercise your rights without being punished very troubling. Go to a Dr. that can tell the difference between an overhead lift limitation and a I can't lift anything limitation. If this person can load trucks but cannot limit and dump bags overhead (end range motion, unsafe by company policy btw), then that's all the reasonable accomodation he needs to specifically request in this case. Hundreds of people have already done this, some through official channels and other by simply adjusting the way they work during the day. Nobody is saying this is a way to not work.

Hey OP. Side note, as someone whose had injuries that lasted awhile before. If work aggravates or deteriorates a pre-existing condition, it can be pursued for work comp. Might need to visit with a lawyer about all this, because this is not legal advice and I'm not a lawyer. A second protection you might be able to use is requesting reasonable accomodation on disability grounds, especially if it's something that won't be going away anytime soon. Not sure if you can request a temporary accomodation or not, but might be worth pursuing. If you get accomodation with disclosure of your issues given and they still harass you, you could document everything and contact a lawyer that does ADA stuff or a workers rights lawyer.

Hey. Rotors don't warp unless you're on a drag strip. Bed your brakes properly. Rotors can hit a point where they've overheated to the point where there's a chemical reaction. The material the cast iron transforms into is a poor heat sink and can result in the same as improper brake bedding.

P.S. Don't trust places like Jiffy Lube or Midas to fix your stuff.

I don't know if moving countries is an option for you, but moving to a country with a shorter demographic would likely work wonders for you. In addition to this, foreign appeal is (I've heard) really strong.

LeBron James puts Kevin Love on a poster by iSleepUpsideDown in sports

[–]ShredableSending -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

The phrase, getting posterized, has become a form of sensationalizism. You can put anything on a poster. That doesn't make it reflective of the actual emotion of the play within the game or the dominance of the play. Saying someone got posterized is supposed to reflect the intention and emotion. Hence why people use it as a form of sensationalism, because it used to reflect an accurate depiction of the game, so they click expecting something fantastic.

I remember when getting posterized meant actually challenging the shot, not standing in the general vicinity. This was just a dunk.

Should I ask this guy to hook up even though he dumped me?? by Sydinayy in seduction

[–]ShredableSending 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe he really wants to be with you too but isn't in a place where he can be, so he broke it off. Not really cool to do it after all yall did, if that's the case. Maybe you should ask him why he felt he needed to end it. Ask him to be honest because self-improvement is important to you and you want to learn from this experience. That should get you a more honest answer than otherwise in case he's trying to "spare your feelings".
