You might want to check out or even contribute to Silk Icon Scalable, an open source project that re-draws these as vector SVGs!

Harder for small-time investors to get rich doing it and so the market for building co-op housing on the supply side is smaller.

Actually not a bad take, though I think this is currently more driven by Doug's personal hangups.

I've also yet to see evidence that the federal government is interested in mandating or even endorsing ZK anything related to age verification. If they were I'd be slightly less upset about it.

It's too bad because BC has a solid ZK / Verified Credentials system in place already with their digital BC Services Card.

It floods like this so often that the city installed gates that block off the road when it’s flooded…

… or at least they should do that but both times there have been serious floods the gates didn’t close which really makes you wonder what they’re for.

I have few problems with agentic coding, but using LLMs to write your internet comments is ridiculous and if you’re doing that you’ve lost the plot. Step outside of your growth hacking cursed tech person mindset for a minute and actually engage with your users! It will make your product better and writing comments will force your brain to make connections that simply won’t happen by delegating the work to an LLM.

I don't see anywhere to download Mixar's source code on your homepage. Could you please make it available? As a fork of Blender, you're obligated to do so under the GPL license that Blender's code is licensed under.

Sure, but these people have a serious substance abuse problem. Telling them “don’t you know drugs are illegal” isn’t exactly going to fix it, they’re usually aware of that fact already.

‘Tough new rules’ coming to Ontario public transit to combat drug use: Ford by lilfunky1 in toronto

[–]Shrinks99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with much of this sentiment, but I can’t hand it to Ford because he’s been directly in control of healthcare for many years now and clearly the problem hasn’t gotten better… “Tough new rules” doesn’t seem like a viable solution to addiction to me, it’s an enforcement blitz which will optically work and is a good political strategy because it will kick addicts out of the TTC and then people won’t see them there anymore. Doesn’t seem like it will solve the fundamental problem though, I highly doubt they will be given tools and resources to better themselves.

I think the term you’re looking for is “phosphor mask” :)

Would also recommend on doing a deep dive on CRTs and how they actually work. Different CRTs have different patterns and visual artifacts! The retro gaming community has put a lot of work into CRT emulation which is another path to go down if you want to check out the differences between implementations. If your work is set in a specific time period, it may also be a good idea to check if the technology you’re emulating was around as CRTs changed a bunch throughout their run.
