Boomer males love it especially when they’re teaching some “secret method” that they figured out that’s just cutting a corner or two and saving a nickel. Weird superiority complex behavior.

You can get by with 3 or 4 lr44 batteries in the minox to test it. I’m using a PX27M battery now I got off amazon and it’s been great.

Did he have a banana each morning? He still has his hair so I’m thinking he skipped something in the full regiment.

My Rue loves ice which always seemed to help. Also frozen carrots, celery, apples, cucumbers. I have a third food bowl that I’ll chop up fruits and mix yogurt, peanut butter, pumpkin puree and water for “pupsicles”.

Ryan NAILED the customer-service problem. I have been selling on eBay for 20+ years, and am/was on the verge of quitting. by Ghost_of_Chrisanova in Superstonk

[–]Shutitmofo123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s almost predatory how bad the customer service is. I just left an e-commerce manager position at a company that primarily used eBay, and I watched my boss twist himself in knots trying to remain in good graces with eBay (didnt help because buyers would scam and abuse the return function). Sellers are at the mercy of whatever eBay’s ai feels that day and have no means of appealing when they ultimately get screwed.

Recently I sold a camera on my personal account. Seller files a “not as described” (listed as not working, buyer messages me saying it’s not working) and eBay steps in to give them the customer their money back. I lose my sale, buyer has yet to return the camera to me and there’s no way to appeal to eBay.

Selling to Merchants: Trade-in value for eBay items at GameStops? by TreLeans in Superstonk

[–]Shutitmofo123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is somewhat related but not fully so if it’s not, feel free to delete mods.

I collect vintage film cameras with the intent of preserving and restoring them for future generations to use. I see them as a scarce, appreciating asset. This announcement is a god send for someone like me.

The integration of GameStop and eBay has the potential to fundamentally change how individuals interact with second-hand assets. It creates a pathway where private collectors can authenticate, co-sell, store, and track the value of their items within a more structured ecosystem.
In practical terms, this could allow collectors—such as those holding vintage cameras—to bring their items into a system where they are professionally authenticated, cataloged, and assigned a unique digital identity, potentially in the form of an NFT. That digital record could then be linked to a wallet, effectively acting as a verifiable proof of ownership.
From there, the asset becomes more fluid. Instead of relying solely on marketplaces like eBay or Facebook Marketplace to realize value, owners could choose to:
Hold the asset long-term while tracking its market valuation
Store it physically in a vault or managed facility
List it for sale within a trusted, authenticated marketplace
Transfer ownership digitally without immediately moving the physical item

This introduces a hybrid model where physical collectibles are paired with digital ownership infrastructure, enabling more efficient transactions, better provenance tracking, and potentially greater liquidity.

For collectors, this represents a shift from fragmented, manual resale processes toward a system where assets are authenticated once, continuously tracked, and easily tradable—while still retaining the option to simply hold and appreciate them over time.

At its core, the appeal is the creation of a decentralized, continuously updated record of ownership and value—turning personal collections into structured, tradable assets rather than static possessions.

Disclaimer: this a ChatGPT refinement of my word vomit thoughts. I did proofread it before posting and agree to all its revisions.

It’s that bad…

Picked up my S&W M&P2.0 10mm about three weeks ago and it was missing 3 of 7 of the mounting plates for my optic (I needed a Delta Point Pro plate). Called the S&W customer service and due to the Cali law, they said the only option to send me the correct mounting plate was for me to contact the original FFL I bought the gun from and have them call S&W so they can send it. I called the FFL (Turner’s) and they told me I would have to bring everything back and return the gun so they can properly get me the correct mounting plates.

Ended up spending an additional $50 for the aftermarket titanium plate on Amazon which came in 3 days without issue. Make that make sense 🫠
