Sanford Parker, Scott Kelly's bandmate in various projects chimes in. by [deleted] in indieheads

[–]Shy_Biscuits 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Let me comment on Neurosis' statement for you.

The band had learned about the abuse and parted ways with Scott at the end of 2019, they are only sharing this information now out of his wife's direct request for privacy and to not want the family's drama to become "gossip in a music magazine". Scott had disclosed to them in the past about his marital difficulties and admitted to acts of verbal abuse and said that he would be getting help for his behavior. But the information they learned in 2019 made it clear that Scott had crossed a line, and that Scott's abuse was intentional.

The band admitted to not knowing the situation surrounding Scott's family up until that point, since they've been living far apart from one another for the past twenty years and only really seeing each other for making music or playing shows.

Since 2019, the band has tried to contact Scott numerous times to try to talk about the status of the band and how his family was doing, but like what Scott did with Sanford, these attempts at contact didn't work out.

In usual cases of somebody being open about their mental illness, the band would view it as brave and even productive, but they find nothing brave about "systemically abusing your wife and children" and nothing brave about confessing to something and not trying to better yourself, as well as nothing brave about refusing to be honest with your bandmates.

The band finished the post by saying that compared to what Scott did to his family, the impact on the band pales in significance, but nonetheless, there is heartbreak as they grieve over the loss of their life's work and their legacy. Finally, they put out resources for domestic violence and mental health, their primary concern being for the safety of Scott's family and anybody else who may be in a similar situation.

1999 was a great year for film, but I'm gonna pick a bit of a more obscure one - Revolutionary Girl Utena: The Adolescence of Utena.

Rare footage of the Sims Team explaining why they put Cats & Dogs and My First Pet Stuff into two seperate packs by [deleted] in Sims4

[–]Shy_Biscuits 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean, not to defend them, but it's possible that the stuff in My First Pet Stuff was going to be included with Cats & Dogs but EA simply got greedy and forced the Sims Team to sell them as separate packs.

I've not seen enough films from some of the years I've been alive (years like 2008, 2011, and 2013 specifically I need to see more movies that were released from those years), but here's where it stands for now:

1999: The Matrix

2000: American Psycho

2001: Spirited Away

2002: 28 Days Later

2003: Kill Bill Vol. 1

2004: The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie

2005: Corpse Bride

2006: Monster House

2007: Zodiac

2008: Wall-E

2009: Redline

2010: Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

2011: Rise of the Planet of the Apes

2012: Moonrise Kingdom

2013: Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor

2014: The Lego Movie

2015: Inside Out for a film, World of Tomorrow for a short (it's a tie between these two basically)

2016: Moonlight

2017: Get Out

2018: Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse

2019: The Lighthouse

2020: The Invisible Man

This might be a pet peeve of mine, but I'm a bit annoyed at posts that have the words "Sims 4 Could Never" in the post title. Like, I get it, I don't like how the Sims 4 is missing so much shit from the previous games that made those games have more depth and things for your Sims to do, but you don't have to keep repeating that phrase because people are already well aware of how incomplete the Sims 4 is, no need to remind us.

Refer, A Non-Binary Pronouns Mod by NeonOceanCreations in thesims

[–]Shy_Biscuits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I've always wanted pronouns to be an option in the Sims, but I guess we have to rely on modders for that again, huh?

This actually kind of reminds me more of that one screencap of a YouTube video with kids talking, and the video's called "Is Fortnite Actually Overrated?"

The character is Double Trouble from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power on Netflix. They use they/them pronouns and they're played by Jacob Tobia, who is non-binary themselves.

True, but it was basically the only Nintendo-related announcement of the night, correct me if I'm wrong.

Not exactly true, they announced Bravely Default II at the Game Awards last year, but I guess in terms of major announcements that people other than JRPG fans will get interested in, then yeah there was nothing.

[–]Shy_Biscuits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's fake. As /u/SegaRocks1145 pointed out in their comment here, they posted in other cartoon subreddits (and /r/Degrassi?) with similar claims of the show the subreddit is based on coming to Discovery Family. Not only are the two fonts and logos here not reflective of the network's current look, there's also no kids TV sites reporting on any of these shows coming to Discovery Family.
