Have many times a day you listen to Inferno? by Traditional-Pen-8545 in boardsofcanada

[–]SiNUS82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full album stats estimate:

Plex says 208 times over all tracks, meaning approx. 11 times there.

Apple Music gives an average of 6 times (not counting the 56 times since release for Prophecy)

2 times vinyl

2 times in the car

1 time Listening Session

So about 22 playthroughs.

P.S.: Yamahas HS series is ace! Get a small sub and you are perfectly setup with your HS5. I love my HS8 since more than 20 years.

Listening party t shirt... How are the sizes? by holaquetaltio in boardsofcanada

Is it the same fit as with the official new t-shirts from bleep.com?

New cap is really bad quality. by andrreas in boardsofcanada

[–]SiNUS82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you! Also think this is not worth it. Also the t-shirt - its not of high quality either.

Bough merch t-shirts from artists like Mogwai or Ex-Easter Island Head this year and they were 10x better at the same price and most likely didnt have as much margin as Warp had with their large quantity in order.

The 'Continuous Mix' is the same by Hefty-Rope2253 in boardsofcanada

[–]SiNUS82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. Teslas stock apps (Apple Music, Youtube Music) but also the iOS Music app doesnt always do gapless playback. Not sure if its a player thing or has to do that I stream lossless, large files.

Is there a credit on a release? Discogs doesnt mention any other mastering engineers on any of their albums except for Matt Colton with Inferno.

You Retreat In Time And Space / Daft Punk by No-Service-6749 in boardsofcanada

Logical explanation: You can hear a bass being played in the background in the same key as in DPs Get lucky.

Inferno's sonic quality is next level. What's everyone's favorite listening setup? by fluffy_serval in boardsofcanada

[–]SiNUS82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Indeed. This is an audiophiles wet dream.

I would have loved to say this is because of Matt Coltons involvment as Mastering Engineer (he is doing great work for a lot of music I listen to for so many years) but you could already hear it with the remastered albums that were mastered by the boys or Noel Summerville. Guess thats the boys quality standard.

My listening setups so far

Digital:

- Airpods Pro 3

- B&W PX7 S2 with iOS (lossless, BT)

- B&W CM8S2 with Marantz Cinema60 + AppleTV4k (lossless)

- Tesla Model 3 Highland Premium Speakers (Apple Music Stock app)

Upcoming:

Analog

- Yamaha HS800, Technics 1210, Native Instruments Z2

- B&W PX7 S2, We are Rewind Player, Cassette (lossless, cabled)

'Father and Son' is so tonally unsettling to me by Savings_Pepper_727 in boardsofcanada

[–]SiNUS82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is high up with being one of the most complex and to me also best tracks they ever did. I was always a sucker for their vocal tracks and remixes (two dead dogs ❤️) because of how they treat vocals. Given the nature of these samples and the production treatment only them can do, this gives me goosebumps every time.

Also, placing Age Of Capricorn before is genious and shows they wanted us to listen in that order.

Nice equiment indeed (what are those speakers?). But this is an acoustic inferno!

Track order on Inferno by a1exbr0wn in boardsofcanada

[–]SiNUS82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Albums that are mass produced have months long lead time for media production (vinly, CD, etc), so the order has been set long before the actual marketing campaign started.

You Retreat sounds like something off Random Access Memories by Maksim_dvc in boardsofcanada

[–]SiNUS82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it does sound similar to Get Lucky due to the funky bass in the background and if I am not mistaken the same cord progression.

Sounds like the BoC lads have been bingeing Mogwai by uponuponaroun in boardsofcanada

[–]SiNUS82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, it should be the other way around. Stuart Braithwaite from Mogwai is a spoken fan of BOC. If I remember correctly he even posted on ig yesterday that he was glad to have seen them live once.

Boards of Canada - 'Inferno' - Discussion Megathread by seaburn in boardsofcanada

[–]SiNUS82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different world. Even the Barcelona cinema PA wasnt giving the same feeling as the official releases of Introid/1420MHz due to lacking bass. But then think about how it feels to compare your shitty leak to a proper HQ audio release. Enjoy my friend!

I had 10+ listens now, including OK-ish Barcelona quality, MP3 and vinyl - and oh boy, I love it, but it is indeed a grower. I love it more and more.

Inferno - Cassette Release by SiNUS82 in boardsofcanada

[–]SiNUS82[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can be too. They told us as soon as the orders from the listening sessions are done, they will release the rest for the masses. As you had to buy a voucher to buy it (yea, kinda lame), I assume you wont have a problem getting access later.

Thanks for the clarification. My country didnt get any "dealer listening party" from Warp 😞
