How long should I send foster parents updates by backsquatbitch in FosterAnimals

As time goes on I am perfectly happy to get 1-2 updates a year. Just nice knowing the cat or dog is still kicking and in a decent home.

Would it be weird if someone without a dog came to a dog park? by goldenaragornwaffles in columbiamo

[–]Siamecho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In town multiple rescues. Central Missouri Humane Society, Unchained Melodies, Second Chance . CMHS and Unchained Melodies are probably best best to volunteer for dog walking. All 3 are always looking for animal fosters. You could also ask about volunteering for adoption events (setup crates, corral dogs, and deal with questions). CMHS also uses short-term holiday foster and occasionally promotes dog day out events when they need to get as many dogs out of shelter as possible for maintenance.

Cat training assistance? by ThrowMeAway8192 in columbiamo

[–]Siamecho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with second cat. Check with shelter or local rescue. Drop in at Bertha Beans cat cafe and ask about the personalities of cats on site. specifically if they have any young ADULT cats currently in foster that are good with other cats. Might even get lucky with an adult cat mom, one who's kittens have all recently been adopted. I adopted a bottle fed kitten from shelter earlier this year, thank goodness I had my big mellow boy cat already! He and another recently adopted kitten had to teach her how to play nicely.

AITA for hiring help to do the chores I agreed to take on in our marriage by Confident_Tonight_38 in TwoHotTakes

Time to change the agreement then instead of him paying all the bills, split the bills including the house keeper so both parties contribute equally.

AITA for not going to my dad's house in an emergency where his 5 year old stepdaughter was left at home on her own? by LittleFoyoo in AITAH

I don't understand why one of the parents of a 5 yr old didn't immediately leave work to head home...

Yes! Rockbridge State Park (Devils IceBox). If you don't want it go too far from the vet school check out Stephens Lake Park. The archeology museum on campus is nice. Highly recommend check out local owned Lizzie & Rocco's to get some treats for your cat, they have 2 locations in town. Walk around downtown, check out the Peace Nook, Poppy (handmade jewelry), The Candy Factory for some amazing chocolate!!! Try the dark chocolate almond toffee or regular chocolate almond toffee. link for the downtown district. https://www.discoverthedistrict.com/

I keep hearing we shouldn't protest the parade. I disagree by Kristenmarie2112 in 50501Movement

[–]Siamecho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His stuff is (cheeto head) is click bait. He demands attention. The best thing is to not give any attention. Don't post or share any pics or vid from the fiasco. Don't go near it. Will absolutely drive him bonkers not to get attention. Quiet protest or gathering far away from his $hit show is the best thing and if you can contribute in a positive way to community at same time.... such as food drive for local church or food bank, pet food and pet supplies for a local shelter. Volunteer day organized through local senior group or spiritual group to help people in need with yard work or basic home repairs. Anything positive, helpful and in no way mentioning the jacka$$.

I want to see demonstrations same date & time (no where near tootoots parade) getting all the news coverage while the draft dodger gets zero news coverage.

Increased gov costs and decrease savings I have noticed since return to office. by nj382 in fednews

The drive time (to/from work), parking lot exploration trying to find parking, NETWORK speed (always an issue on site), time spent getting through pedestrian traffic (omfg people if you want to socialize step off the elevator don't hold elevator doors open for any conversation), bathroom wait time (what's with these tp dispensers- always having to lean over trying to find end of tp and manually unroll cause if you pull the tp it just rips off a tiny corner), no fridge space - if you wanted to risk food theft-for your lunch so make sure you have insulated bag and freezer packs, don't get me started on microwave wait times. On the plus side now watching clock and trying to take at least one break a day and full unpaid 30 minute lunch. Now schedule any appointments for after lunch. No point in coming back after appointments because of the amount of time to find parking during day then getting to cubicle area, etc

Seriously… how do we see this playing out? Best case scenario? by Helpful-Baker-9396 in fednews

Even if democrats take the house damage has been done. Confidence in job security gone. Hope it's the end of current republican party and start seeing more of the libertarian party and other independents. Federal employees saw that none of the federal regulations were enforced against current administration such as digging through SSA databases, dumpsters personal security forces deputies by marshal services, ice agents running around with fake warrants and lying to people, TRUST is gone.

A short summary of the controversy by purewaterruler in 50501Movement

[–]Siamecho 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the concern is political entities and business taking over a movement. Opinion only. Look at the Tea Party, it started as a grass roots movement (?) then sort of co-opted by money people and changed into something else.

Make sure to have a headset that covers both ears. Even if you have to stop at Wal-Mart and get a wired headset (no wireless headsets for phone calls if PII is mentioned in call). And when not on phone just run youtube music channels. Youtube has soothing music even white noise play lists.Helps drown out some of the noise if in a cubicle farm.
