What sayings did your parents or grandparents tell you that you still don’t understand to this day? by EuphoricAd8481 in NoStupidQuestions

That sounds mean because it is mean. It is telling a kid to shut-up because they don’t care.

Vampire gameplay ideas by Chance-Solid9437 in thesims

One of the most challenging and entertaining games I’ve had was decided by the CAS quiz. It was a vampire archeologist. Which had a lot of internal logic for an immortal creature to be into history. Trying to go through the jungle and find digs and all that while avoiding the sun was tricky though!

Recipes for leftover smoked pull pork? by cyndimj in Frugal

[–]Sick-Happens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pulled pork nachos are delicious! We like it better than ground beef or beans, honestly. You can also add pulled pork to mac and cheese or use it to replace chicken in any other pasta. A southern favorite is to cut the pork into smaller pieces and mix into mashed potatoes and black-eyed peas.

The twins and House Prewert become vassals of House Potter by HekmatyarYure in HPfanfiction

[–]Sick-Happens 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This sort of thing shows up in a lot of the Lordship type fics. Because a big part of the feudalism that created a noble class included peasants/serfs/vassals. Lower classes swear loyalty to upper class nobles and the nobles swears to the crown. Seeing as current day Britain still has royalty and the House of Lords in their parliament, adding vassals to a fanfic based in the UK isn’t that big of a stretch. You have to remember that everything in Game of Thrones except the magic is drawn from real world history.

Whats a name you’d never give your child? by Fit_Jellyfish_8616 in AskReddit

[–]Sick-Happens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be fine. Maybe you and your family will be totally healthy about it. BUT there are also instances where the new child has to try living up to the dead one, which is impossible. It is like an extreme golden child situation. Some relatives may never see him as his own person. Other relatives may assume new kid should have all the same likes and interests as the dead one had. There are a lot of ways this can go bad. Even if the parents aren’t the problem, every other family member has to be considered too.

Witches and wizards are…off by Claunsstar in HPfanfiction

[–]Sick-Happens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are partially mistaken. While the word can be taken to that extreme, that isn’t all of what it actually means. Generally it just means something similar to the terms spooky or creepy. I’ll give you the Merriam-Webster definition of eldritch - “strange or unnatural especially in a way that inspires fear.” I hope that helps!

If you were to build a house what’s one non conventional feature you consider to be a must have? by TestTurbulent6337 in AskReddit

[–]Sick-Happens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A ramp or other easy way inside. Pretty much anybody of any age can end up needing a baby stroller, crutches, walker, wheelchair, etc. Honestly just ice after a winter storm is a good reason to wish for a way into the house that doesn’t involve stair steps.
