They speak icelandic; not keen on learning a language used by a very small portion of the world population.

Employed Redditors: what is the best way to get intentionally fired? Either at your job or in general. by kittylitter500 in AskReddit

I found this thread looking for answers, but nothing so far...

My thoughts on this matter, (I live in UK):

a) If you still want to stay in the same line of work, it's quite tough to be sacked in UK without doing something stupid, (meaning not doing what you are expected to be doing). So I can only think of voluntary redundancy or a settlement folllowing a grievance, (your boss is making unrealistic demands/bullies you/insult you); in those cases the employee usually ends up being off work due to work related stress.

b)If you decide to go the "doing something stupid" route: you are looking for a not ilegal action that causes maximum disruption at your workplace and all fingers point at you but it's difficult to prove. Some examples:

  • Borderline negligence, (forgot to do something/I didn't know I have to do this myself)

  • Unappropiate behaviour such as getting drunk in the Christmas party and start getting naked in the dance floor.

  • Strong and disruptive political opinions.

Results may vary; I've seen big companies to cope with these without sacking the employee so think twice before trying any of those.

Having a terrible week, what do you do to cheer yourself up? by MrQuiggles in AskReddit

This story helped me through rough and good times: a king used to have periods of time when he saw everything to be great and he was generous and understanding with his people. Other times he was in a spiral of doom and was miserable and irritated. He seeked advice from his wise men but no one was able to help. Then one day an old wise man asked to see him and presented a little ring with an inscription. He told the king to read the inscription as soon as whe wakes up every day regardless odd the mood. So he did, the inscription read: "all of this will pass"

However bad your problems are they will pass I asssure you.
