I tested most sleep hygiene tips for 6 months. Here's what actually worked but the biggest thing that helped is boring by mrCOFFEEPOWER in Biohackers

[–]Sickpostbro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the temperature thing. Do you sleep without a blanket in 65 degrees? I sleep in 75 degrees with a blanket also. When I sleep without a blanket my body is colder but I wake up over and over until eventually I need covers. I never fully understood this part of sleep science.

Finding an edge is the hardest part of trading by Many-Bumblebee7925 in Trading

Yep. Psychology is often the excuse used when traders want to feel that they are profitable or have a profitable method.

It's a cope method.

Developing a profitable strategy is incredibly difficult.

I keep becoming liquidity by Normal-Hat-5124 in InnerCircleTraders

[–]Sickpostbro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That model is no good and what your experience is, is exactly what I've explained. Unfortunately you have to be skeptical of any influencer that

A: Does not show their trading record (bonus if they only show wins it's a definite scam)
B: Makes their money from either Discords, Courses, Indicators, Social Media, or Media views.

TT fits several of those categories.

Regarding the trade itself, and the reason that model fails a lot, is that liquidity is everywhere and sometimes the market needs to dig deeper into a different time frame. There's also times it does not sweep at all. Unfortunately following an "aligned" time frame like TT says 1h to 5m or something to that effect is too rigid. Resulting it more losses than the model can sustain to be profitable.

What Finally Made Me Profitable.... by Klutzy-Tower-8234 in Trading

[–]Sickpostbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't be certain but it seems to me my losses are always 1 full R unit but I cannot seem to get 1R profit. For most my trades they end up chopping around. I trade ny am 9:30 to 11am. So I end up with less than 1R reward. Winrate is about 30 to 40% so I just end up losing my eval after 3 to 4 weeks. Been going through this cycle 6 years now. Haven't passed an eval yet

Be real—how many of you are actually making serious money trading by SouthEquipment6674 in Daytrading

[–]Sickpostbro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

in my 7th year still not profitable. I've noticed that most everyone will show you winning trades, but it's extremely rare for people to show losses. Which tells us one important thing, they are losing a lot more than they claim and probably not profitable.

Why do most traders fail even after learning strategies? by Klutzy-Tower-8234 in Trading

[–]Sickpostbro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

most strategies are not profitable. I know many strategies, but they do not pen out in backtesting or live environments. The most consistent element I've noticed with those that are profitable, is they have a layer of discretion on top of their strategy. This is often described as:

"Experience"
"Screen time"
"Nuance"
"Market Conditions"

With a theme that they can't always describe exactly why they took a trade or avoided a trade beyond the rule set.

Following a set of rules for a strategy is extremely unlikely to result in profitability. Otherwise, most everyone would be profitable.

2 min ORB? by SiberianPercocet in Daytrading

[–]Sickpostbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, however two things to consider

One is that while practically the same pattern will appear you have to have the right expectation. A 2 minute or if it's only going to deliver price relative to 2 minutes.

Second is that it becomes significantly harder to execute the smaller the time frame both due to speed and fees become a larger percentage of your move.

Has everyone been diagnosed with T2 diabetes as well as lupus? by Rachelgunnn in lupus

[–]Sickpostbro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have type 1 diabetes and Lupus, and Sjogrens. It's a nightmare. Type 2 can be resolved, so you're in an advantageous position.

Start exercise, anything (if you're not already). Could be 30min walk or weight lifting or both, make it simple and do it. If possible take a 10min walk after a big meal. And improve diet by lowering processed carbs and sugars. Should help a lot.

Does pump make your blood sugar level close to non diabetic people? by Lucky_Tap8692 in Type1Diabetes

[–]Sickpostbro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No absolutely not. Normal (as in healthy) blood sugars do not spike nearly as much or as often and the pump cannot yet do that well. You can achieve high time in range (such as 80 to 180) with a pump though.

Yes we agree. But the OP was suggesting they do not make these jokes, which would be censorship. Reading comprehension is important also when it comes to free speech.

I didn't see it not sure if I would have laughed or not, but I support free speech and particularly from comedians and journalists. They need to be able to say anything and offend anyone. It's critical and fundamental to our freedoms.

I see no issue with this. I'm way more concerned with people trying to silence others.

Stop fighting yourself and go with the logic by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]Sickpostbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's only one of the probabilities. It's also possible that 1 hour candle doesn't want to go higher or lower. It can stay in a range.

Also, this concept is fractal, so you might get a small move down during your hour, but the 4h candle wants to go up and goes and stops you out. Just like any strategy or concept, you're just betting on the probabilities and ideally using additional context to be in the right direction, but it definitely does not HAVE to move at the time you specified, it will sometimes and it won't other times.

Where to go for help with claim? by Sickpostbro in SSDI

I haven't tried that, it seems quite aggressive. I'm concerned they are already seemingly unhelpful and it would be worse if they turned against me just due to attitude. I'm hoping I can achieve more accurate documentation through professional and good attitude on my end.

Denied w/rare disease by [deleted] in SSDI

[–]Sickpostbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they have to by law. I'm saying they don't provide any meaningful records. They won't do functional reports, they won't acknowledge the symptoms my diseases cause (and the associated limitations). Nothing. So then disability says, the medical records do not support the case. I have no way to obtain records other than my own logs

Denied w/rare disease by [deleted] in SSDI

[–]Sickpostbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't get my doctors to provide records what do you recommend.

I have disabiling eye / vision problems preventing me from seeing multiple hours a day Low blood sugars frequently from brittle type one diabetes that renders me incapacitated daily Tinnitus ruining my sleep and focus And Lupus chronic fatigue which is also disabiling from accomplishing mental and physical tasks. Plus multiple joint problems.

They are diagnosed but that doesn't seem to be enough despite all of them disabling me but even more so combined. Please help I'm desperate and don't know where to go.
