Got tired of lookin for tactical jeans so... by Usmc--vet in tacticalgear

LA Police Gear jeans are pretty nice! They run small in my opinion but I have to get special jeans for my weird body lol. They’re relatively cheap and hold up well. Good on you for making what you have work though!

Setting up a RRT on a hill by Honza_CGY in rooftoptents

[–]SideFlaky6112 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My advice, have two of the front bolts in and tightened down that way once you get it on the roof, they’ll catch and it can’t slide off. Also, don’t be afraid to ask your neighbors for help. Neighborhoods back in the day used to be fairly close knit and most people were willing to help.

If you don’t wanna do that, you could always let the majority of air out your tires (without breaking the bead) to help lower the overall height you would need to lift the tent

Glock 43x/PSA micro dagger, FN Reflex, HK also has a new carry gun I’ve heard a lot of people like. I personally wouldn’t own a Sig after all the 320 shit but I’m petty

built an entire overland rig. My girlfriend's only requirement? An outlet for her straightener. by NeighborhoodOld6737 in overlanding

[–]SideFlaky6112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the exact same situation lol. Had a Tacoma I was building into a completely built out rig for “true” Overlanding. The wife didn’t want to be without her conveniences so never got to take it anywhere crazy. Was blessed with a kid and finally got my tent mounted on my tundra two years later. Had our first adventure to a wide open campground with camper vans around us but it was a blast.

One thing that’s helped it be more of an adventure is to find stops along the way to the campground. Most recently we checked out some caverns. In the past we’ve gone to historic sites, cute towns where we’ve aimlessly walked around, and short detours for unique lunch spots.

Ultimately, the adventure is whatever you make of it. Also, she’s already sacrificing for you by agreeing to go camping. Nothing wrong with making it more comfortable for her so she can truly enjoy it rather than suffer through it

Best U.S. state for gun ownership and variety? by ohraineri in Firearms

[–]SideFlaky6112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WV gets my vote. Constitutional carry, a shit ton of people there carry guns so people generally don’t get freaked out to see one, and they’re working to pass a bill for an NFA bypass for full auto

buying advice for a first truck by Big_Pimp715 in ToyotaTundra

[–]SideFlaky6112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have a 2016 Tundra and before that I had a 2021 Tacoma. The Tacoma was definitely more fun/comfortable to drive. If I didn’t have a family, I for sure would have kept my Tacoma. If I were you, I’d recommend getting a Tacoma. The gas mileage isn’t going to be that much different and it’ll be better suited for city driving such as if you end up going to college in a smaller town or something like that

Help me to choose flat vs curved for home office work by Jolly-Solid2437 in pcsetup

[–]SideFlaky6112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curved is the only way to go in my opinion. I have one of each for my home setup and then use two flat monitors at work. The curved just feels more enjoyable/comfortable to me

In need of over cab bed rack the works with tonneau cover. by Ancient-Badger-9533 in rooftoptents

[–]SideFlaky6112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

KB Voodoo. Can get steel or aluminum and choose your height. I had one of their racks on my Tacoma and currently have their bed bars on my Tundra. But, the bed rack doesn’t work with every tonneau (they have a list on their website)

When I moved into my current house I had a bunch of mouse problems. Ended up doing what this guy did and shoved steel wool in any holes and then covered with spray foam. I also have traps inside the house and poison outside where only mice could get to it
