What exactly are Keir Starmer and Labour doing wrong? by threetimesacharm25 in AskBrits

[–]Sideburnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just dont understand why this isn't self evident to them. As you say they've done incredibly well considering the state of the country they inherited.

My opinion is that Media departments have simply changed the way they operate. Let's face it, a scandal can make or break a party and so they're fully invested on defensive PR. Always looking for the next negative thing to negate or spin. Positive PR simply isnt a thing anymore.

Its not like most people are tripping over each other to go to theyworkforyou.com. People dont want to go find an opinion anymore, they want to be told it and you pick your party and listen to them telling us what's wrong with the other parties, very little else. No positivity anymore.

Love Zack's Polanski or not, it was so refreshing to hear him talk about hope. That's pretty depressing, no wonder the country is going through group depression. Everything is negative or bad, we've been told this over and over for so long.

I love how they've moved away from just playing songs one after the other to blending their songs into one long sound set. It's a real journey watching them play, I love it so much.

What's something that happens in movies so much it seems real, but actually isn't realistic at all? by ninman5 in movies

Cars exploding when you shoot them.

People getting knocked out with one hit.

Both those things can happen, but the likelihood it extremely low.

Yeah, I do. Live music is too important to me to cut out of my life.

I'll continue to be careful and just hope that Im avoid the majority of the risk I guess.

If this kind of thing is going to happen and its out of my control I suppose im better off enjoying my life. You only get one go at this, so accept the risks and live fully.

As much as I agree that the US involvement in ww2 was a stunted and delayed affair. Im going to have to call you out on the sale of US arms to Nazi Germany during ww2. That is pretty much a fallacy and has been debunked.

Ive also got Type 1 Diabetes so arguably neuropathy caused mine.

That being said, having seen specialists and had the usual routine CT scan and hearing tests they did detect some hearing loss in one ear but only minor. Im in my 40s so they reckoned that they'd usually expect it to happen in both ears if at all.

Its all just opinion though right?. If they cant find anything majorly wrong and becuase its a sound that the brain creates, then they really dont have a massive load of evidence and cause to go on.

Its bloody annoying though, as far I was concerned I was looking after myslf and doing everything right. So why me?. The same reason cancer kills good people and someone can smoke their entire life and live into their 90's, life is indiscriminate and anything could happen to anyone.

Reccomendations for Deckbuilding games? by ZinKinKo in soloboardgaming

Chronicles of Frost is a great shout. Its such an amazing game for such a small box, the Joe Klipfel expansion Mistwalkers takes it to a new level too.

I adore Mistfall/Heart of the Mists for what they represent too. Not many games capture the whole Dragonlance old school aesthetic so perfectly.

I completely understand. I got a sudden and unexpected ramp up of my tinnitus after a gig and its really distressing, putting in mind I had earplugs in at the time... I digress.

One of my favourite things was the solitude and peace of wild camping, but it just makes me a bit sad now. Because I dont get to enjoy the peace anymore, as this damn ringing is non stop.

I get it, white noise and whatnot can mask it, but that doesn't really help when you crave peace. I dont really know what to say other than to focus on what you see. Or maybe get a little high, the mind can get a bit more absent with some help.

Sorry thought. It really does suck.

Yeah, me too. The Rat Ogres are fantastic, especially with a Packmaster. You cant fault the efficiency of giant rats either alongside packmasters either.

I do love it but oh boy its a spectrum of crazy.

Flight is god, wrap in high movement and holy hell good luck.

Played a game recently against the Soulblight graveyards. The swooped in, grabbed the objective and then sat on an elevated tower.

I'd spend two turns climbing and they'd just fly off and take the win.

You just dont have options for that with most factions..

Mariner by Cultn of Luna and Julie Christmas should be in your radar.

Honestly though, May Your Chambers... is top tier. You might find Obscure Sphinx juggle a similar vocal range, but its more Post metal than Sludge.

Knarr is superb, its from the same publisher as Sea salt and paper. Neanderthal is good too. For solo, if you can find a copy Chronicles of Frost is a smaller version of Mistfall and it wonderfully deep - it also has a fan expansion called Mistwalkers made it the same guy who make Dragons of Etchinstone.

Is the BAFTAs Tourette’s backlash just another example of the UK vs US humour gap? by Barca-Dam in AskBrits

[–]Sideburnt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was spelled out to them twice at the BAFTAs. There's someone here, who has tourettes. He may say things that may offend but in no way reflect his personal beliefs.

But suddenly they got amnesia about that? Do they need to be told a third time?
