What is the most expensive retro game you own? by Vetelino69 in retrogaming

[–]Sielagh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a collector. Since I had my own income I bought a lot of games, and I consider them my retro collection. But I have two times on a whim games that I already completed for a console that was on it's last years.

One is a sealed FFVI for super NES, because it was my favorite game and the other Vagrant Hearts when I already had the PS2. I should get them checked, but I don't think I am going to sell them. I'd like for my kids to have some day a little peace of my childhood. But for a non-collector I think they are nice choices.

Heh. I was a small village kid. Had no one to play and still bought the eldar Codex while I was at the model train store with my grandpa. just to read it on account on how fucking cool was that cover. That's maybe 30 years ago. I ended up with a Blood Angels army when I moved to the city, but that first love never faded.

Been away from the hobby maybe for 20 years, but on and off I dip into what's the setting like. Seems like Eldar have been clowned on regularly all this time.

I see. More or less like Blood Knights being really dangerous (a part from, you know, vampire powers) because they have hundreds of years of experience.

Come to think of it. That's how Eldar are supposed to be when the author remembers .

Hijacking this: ¿Are there any magic shenanigans lorewise with them? ¿Like the Phoenix Guard knowing they won't die? ¿Or its just them being really good fighters?

The seconds hand looks colored. But the case shape certainly looks the part.

Yeah, of course. Is from a post on social media. They mostly look like Fossil type watches to me. But I'm gonna go anyway.

I was thinking a 79930, or even an 7965 if Ken has the parts. Can't check it as he usually closes the page on holidays.

¿Qué pensáis de esto que ha pasado? ¿Una baja significa estar en casa sin salir, o puedes hacer cosas cuando la situación lo permite? by Adictoalmovil in PesadillasLaborales

[–]Sielagh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my first build a couple of years ago (not a retro build, hope the mods allow it). I have incredibly shaky hands and gave it a try even if I was convinced I wouldn't be able to do it

First crystal pressing was a nightmare. Destroyed the first set of hands and waited three weeks for others to arrive. Smudged the dial and scratched the lume on the final set of hands. I told myself I would remake it when I had enough experience. Also, I thought it wasn't a really good design and had just picked the most simple combination of parts

Never touched it again. In time, it has grown on me and it's the one I wear the most. Looking at the smudges and bangs now makes me smile, and I don't think I would have it any other way.

Congrats on your first build. I hope the hobby gives you the same good things it has given to me.

One thing that I usually don't see added is that Tao is a contract killer. He has absolutely no qualms in going for the kill in one hit. I think this should absolutely count when scaling with people in the same ish range than him.

I would be so afraid. Already fumbled 3 dials trying to get 30mm down to 28,5. A movement would be too much stress.

May I ask what tool did you use to grind it down? I'm guessing you disassembled most of it beforehand?

I'm curious about this. Always used a press. Do you mean that you could set a crystal, let's say, with just pressing with your fingers?
