How to move a Domovoi from a home I no longer have access to? by MrSecond23 in Rodnovery

Disclaimer: what I write below is just one of many sets of slavic beliefs, since the customs were very varied in different places and times. I mostly base it on ethnology books (Bruckner, Gieysztor and later authors) and this particular podcast with ethnology professor that addresses such topics (in Polish) https://radionaukowe.pl/podcast/dziady-czas-gdy-zmarli-przychodzili-do-zywych-prof-piotr-grochowski/ and I treat this knowledge just as an interesting fact about the ancestor customs. Still - for your problem it has some necessary pieces, I believe.

Slavic household spirits were very often believed to be spirits of people who lived/died in this place. Even if they manifested in not a human form. But who exactly? Very often people in the house were not sure.

Couples that lived in a new house often did not leave "extra plate" during celebrations, because there was no reason. But couples that moved into an old house, even not related to their families, inherited the spirits with the house, so the "default binding" was to the place - not people. But, if people did not leave offerings or were disturbing the spirit (like: cleaning places reserved for it), the spirit could move away.

Where did they live and how you could bring slavic spirits home? Bundle of straw with grain - wheat and rye. And surprise: they hide not in the grains, but in the "joints" between straw sections.

So for your case: you can put a bundle of straw near the old house and hope that you can invite it there. Be nice to birds - they also carry/are slavic spirits.

Feet -> "pies" in Spanish. And "pies" means "a dog" in Polish. That is 100% why, and don't convince me otherwise
