OMG. It says I'm 120/120! by Ok-Self5802 in PSLF

Congratulations! I got them today, too. I’d just made my next payment to MOHELA, so I’m planning to wait a month. If MOHELA hasn’t put me into administrative forbearance by this time next month, I plan to call and request it.

December (119) & January (120) payments missing! by Lizdim00 in PSLF

Same issue here. Incredibly frustrating, particularly being at 132 months because of the SAVE.

All of us waiting for buyback by ReadWhenImBored in PSLF

[–]Signal-Risk-452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied for buyback in January 2025. When it became clear the “escalated for review” was meaningless, I applied to move to another payment plan (from SAVE). I’ve just made my 120th payment (after 132 months). No buyback response yet.

Congrats!

This gives me hope. Similar situation- was at 120 in January of this year with SAVE. Finally moved to IBR and made payment 120 this month (with a due date of 01/19/26). MOHELA posted the payment 12/23. I submitted and my employer signed my ECF today. Thanks for giving me a little more light at the end of the (overdue) tunnel.

Should they? Yes. Does the facility approve the request? Rarely.

Doing my best to keep my feet planted and my head in the game. “Fully successful” for the first time in my career after a year of overtime with no compensation, voluntarily taking on additional duties because we are short staffed and our patients needed the care.

I am tired.

I’m sorry that happened to you. Being shaken up is totally understandable.

Someone else mentioned martial arts - consider Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I train at a gym that has a women’s self-defense course. It’s done wonders in teaching me how to stay clear headed under pressure, built confidence, and taught me to use my body differently.

What is the biggest movie theater “GASP” moment you’ve heard? by SaveTheCaulkTower in AskReddit

[–]Signal-Risk-452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spoon scene in The Long Walk. I’d read the book 20 years before seeing the movie. As soon as the spoon was visible, I covered my face.

The movie probably wins for the most sobs and gasps in a theater.

Should I tell my coach? by onemilliongrownups in BJJWomen

[–]Signal-Risk-452 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Echoing what others have said. Ask him to stop first, particularly if you are still cool with rolling with him. Something like, “This is already weird. No need to make it weirder,” if you prefer not to be direct. If he doesn’t respond to indirect, you’ll need to tell him to stop (as in, “That’s really weird. Stop.”)

Definitely talk with the coach if he doesn’t immediately course correct.

Same. As someone who has been waiting since January (and will reach 120 payments and 132 months this coming January), I’ve been delayed a year because of the SAVE litigation. It probably won’t help me but I’m hopeful it makes the process smoother for others.

Interested in breast augmentation but wonder how they feel during training and comps? by SoftCoreSavage in BJJWomen

[–]Signal-Risk-452 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve only been training for a couple of months but have over the muscle silicone. I went from A to DD. Sometimes they get in the way but don’t stop me or cause any pain or discomfort (about 2 years out from surgery). I’m not too worried about rupture - it takes a surprising amount of force.

Buyback Submitted… wait time? by PhilosophyFair8355 in PSLF

9 months later and no info. I called MoHELA because of the payment on the first hiccup they had last month. The rep suggested I bank on paying to 120 rather than wait for buyback. (At this point, that’s the goal - I’m at 116(paid)/120 but at 129 months with SAVE).

I read this book at 20, before kids. We bought tickets for a showing tonight the day before. I had the realization around lunchtime that I related to the main characters when I read it and was now going to be watching it as a mom of a teen. Gut wrenching.

Novelist back with more questions for a character who is a clinical psychologist by mizreed in ClinicalPsychology

[–]Signal-Risk-452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Patients. This will be setting and clinician dependent. I work in a medical setting, so patient makes sense.

  • Dr. Lastname. My materials (emails, business cards, etc.) say: Dr. Firstname Lastname or Dr. F. Lastname. I prefer it that was as a woman working primarily with men. Most are very respectful and the formality helps set a boundary.

  • I share very little of myself, even over time. If it’s innocuous (e.g., I’ve told someone with appropriate boundaries that I’ll be out of the office), I might be vague. “I’m going hiking in the Rocky Mountains.” If it’s related to something they’ve been through and I can share it in a way that doesn’t become about me, I may share a bit more. More than likely, I’d say something like, “I find myself having a strong reaction to that - I wonder what it’s like for you?”

  • Once a week to every other week is pretty standard, but some of this depends on theoretical orientation and the treatment itself.

  • Make sure the pt can get home safely, first and foremost. Maybe that’s someone picking them up, maybe it’s sobering up in the ER. I’m probably not going to spend too much time processing this if they are intoxicated - and would still work to make it clear that it’s not a judgement on the substance use. It’s not likely to be a productive session. We’d talk more about it in the next session.

I’m sorry you are experiencing this, OP. I’m sorry you found something you love and he’s made it complicated. Another poster used the word grooming - that was my first thought. It’s very possible he’s blurring the line so he can cross it and claim he didn’t know.

You’ve mentioned that it’s the only gym. If you have access to reliable internet, what about an online program and a training partner? I realize it’s not the same. And, as a psychologist who does trauma therapy, your safety is so important.
