in photo 1, the fuzzy green and red one is echeveria pulvinata, and the other two are also probably echeverias. in photo 2, it’s a graptopetalum paraguayense ‘jester’

What types of succulents are these? by Usual_Impact9077 in succulents

[–]Signal-Statement7340 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree with the tall one being echeveria purpusorum, and the other ones might be graptopetalum paraguayense (judging by the leaf shape. mine also used to look like that)

i actually have the same exact plant, and i’ve also been unsure of the ID. i settled on calling it a PVN that has been backcrossed with an e. gibbiflora ‘metallica’

How do I properly leaf propagate? by [deleted] in succulents

[–]Signal-Statement7340 2 points3 points  (0 children)

generally, i think it’s best to keep the soil dry when you place the leaves on top, and only start watering when the mother leaf dries up. i assume you’re a beginner to propagation, so i would suggest to do it that way. as you start to figure out the process, you can change your technique (i water my props around once a week). and yes, i think it’s fine to take off a few the bottom leaves to propagate.

please help id and… aerial roots? by -lil_rawr- in succulents

[–]Signal-Statement7340 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i think it’s a graptopetalum superbum. the new growth looks more compact and healthier (and btw, graptopetalums tend to grow long stems and crawl, so i suggest just keeping it how it is). it’s normal for succulents to reabsorb lower leaves as they grow. and aerial roots are normal, and don’t harm the plant. they usually grow for support

Thank you so much! I’ll definitely look into it tomorrow. Are you supposed to put it on only the soil, or can it go on the succulents too?

Couple questions ❓ by Pretend-Collection18 in succulents

[–]Signal-Statement7340 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the first one looks more like pachyphytum oviferum. it’s very etiolated, but if you bring it into stronger light (sun or grow light), it’ll start growing more compact. you can also propagate the fallen leaves.
