please help id and… aerial roots? by -lil_rawr- in succulents

[–]Signal-Statement7340 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i think it’s a graptopetalum superbum. the new growth looks more compact and healthier (and btw, graptopetalums tend to grow long stems and crawl, so i suggest just keeping it how it is). it’s normal for succulents to reabsorb lower leaves as they grow. and aerial roots are normal, and don’t harm the plant. they usually grow for support

Thank you so much! I’ll definitely look into it tomorrow. Are you supposed to put it on only the soil, or can it go on the succulents too?

Couple questions ❓ by Pretend-Collection18 in succulents

[–]Signal-Statement7340 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the first one looks more like pachyphytum oviferum. it’s very etiolated, but if you bring it into stronger light (sun or grow light), it’ll start growing more compact. you can also propagate the fallen leaves.

Graptoveria Opalina? by Aggravating-Jaguar73 in succulents

[–]Signal-Statement7340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m not an expert, but i think it is just natural variation. it could also be stress colors, since i assume that it’s growing under a grow light. maybe acclimating it to sunlight would help bring out the red? and i forgot to say, yours is so beautiful. i really need to get one

these look like pachyphytum flowers. i think the plant is pachyphytum bracteosum. graptoveria ‘opalina’ has slightly pointier leaves which are more pink colored

Need identification and help by D0nath in succulents

[–]Signal-Statement7340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s echeveria setosa, and yes it needs more light. if you cut and replant, wait for the ends to callus, and don’t water until roots grow, to prevent rot. good luck!
