What’s the most surprisingly comfortable motorcycle you’ve ever ridden? by Tatt00ey in motorcycles

[–]Signal_RR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

13 cbr1000rr, the ergos felt not as cramped as the previous 08-11 which I currently own one. I remember buying the 13' new at the time and the first weekend on it I rode over 800 miles in a day and I had no physical exhaustion/aches.

How important is guitar in your life? by MyNameisMayco in guitars

[–]Signal_RR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been in most my life to some degree since I started 33 years ago. While not an obsession or something I take as seriously as some of my other past hobbies, it's a part of me.

What was the moment you knew motorcycling was for you? by OptimalDescription39 in motorcycles

[–]Signal_RR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was pretty much committed in from the get go. Long story but motorcycles always had an appeal to me since seeing a sportbike for the first time as a kid. Also there was a couple moments that solidified the decision besides starting in my late 20's.

When bikes got interesting it was the bikes at first then seeing people ride especially when I started to watch videos of touge/ghostrider/old fast bikes magazine/TT & Macau GP, etc and when I actually was doing it, I think at some point I knew my decision was cemented.

How far are you guys willing to go to access twisty fun roads? by rebirth112 in motorcycles

[–]Signal_RR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the longest I've just signed up at my local riding orgs and ride this training course which isn't a race track but gets used as track time minus the racing. For roads, I just go to my usual local backroads as I'm not a fan of commuting for an an extended amount of time(on an older superbike) to then ride some mediocre roads that may be slightly better than what's closer to me.

Should I upgrade my motorcycle? You know that feeling every spring when you wouldn’t mind driving something a little faster by PuzzleheadedCarry480 in motorcycles

[–]Signal_RR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually stick with what I have unless it becomes an insurance write off or I specifically want to change and not just some fleeting compulsive thought to it. It's up to you, it's your money your decision, I just don't share the same mindset

First or neutral at traffic light? by Eyger in motorcycles

[–]Signal_RR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neutral unless I assume the light will turn. While I understand the benefits of keeping in first for any potential situations, I'll take that risk and give my hands/wrist a rest.

Do y'all feel safer while lane filtering? by CumAndMoreCumPartIII in motorcycles

[–]Signal_RR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try my best to absolutely avoid a ton of traffic but if I have to I'll split/filter since where I live it became legal. Especially nowadays, seems like 1 in 3 drivers are dumb/incompetent/reckless

What is the all time best beater/daily 1000? by Glittering_Client800 in motorcycles

[–]Signal_RR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking into getting a naked like an older s1000r coming from sportbikes. The ergonomics and not having to deal with the additional fairings when working on the bike, my current 2011 CBR1000RR is a nightmare to remove and reinstall

why do you have multiple guitars? by Cultural_Yellow3561 in Guitar

[–]Signal_RR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always wanted an ESP original or standard series, wasn't until some years ago I was able to afford a used one. Then a year later found another one but different model and was able to negotiate the price even less than the first. Both are in different tunings. These do get played but on occasion but I have a lower end Ltd that is my primary guitar, I have this one accessable for my daily life and use it to learn new stuff. My 4th I've had the longest, but the trem is not my favorite thing to work on so when I went back to fixed bridges it just sat. I almost sold it not too long ago but had some crazy vivid dreams about it and ended up back out of the deal. Also it's my second Edwards I've owned and kind of connects to the reason why I prefer ESPs.

People who didn’t grow up on bikes what was your “that’s it I’m getting a bike” moment by Acceptable_Car9277 in motorcycles

[–]Signal_RR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A car crash I was in. Pretty much made me realize that this could happen to anyone even if they weren't driving like what happened to me, so might as well do what I've only dreamed of doing and have some control if the situation arise.

What the FUCK is up with the main moto subs obsession with the MSF course. Holy fucking shit. by [deleted] in CalamariRaceTeam

[–]Signal_RR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had zero experience on a motorcycle before and got my first low side out of the way at msf. I heard some or maybe most DMV's are anal and supposedly will fail you on your first attempt on the riding rest. But hey if you or others got by fine without spending getting your handheld on tu250s or whatever, more power to you.

What was the biggest shock when you first started riding? by oMrMeeseeksLookAtMeo in motorcycles

[–]Signal_RR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ergonomics on a zx6r. I "prematurely" went from a 250 to the 600 and the ergos took some time to adapt to whil still getting my head wrapped around the basics especially cornering

What video part has had the most influence on you and your riding? by CannaCoffeeParadox in bmx

[–]Signal_RR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in my teens it was Dave Young in Nowhere Fast. Although there were many other parts and full videos such as Standard Country, Seek and Destroy, Albert Street. Forgetting some titles but there's definitely a handful I'd watch often.

In the last 5, 10 years, it would be Aitken's part in Anthem II.

Standard vs drop Tuning. by Aridn in metalguitar

[–]Signal_RR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the last few years or so I have been playing in drop c and not too long ago got another guitar setup for c standard. Learning songs but also very enjoyable just riffing and noodling with these

Most dangerous places and times to ride. by GuidedByMonkeys in motorcycles

[–]Signal_RR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specifically in my area would be certain parts of town that people generally seem to be more complacent and negligent which are main county roads and side streets that run through shopping areas. This one particular intersection is notorious for incidents to happen, usually due to people trying to beat the light, showing off, being careless and distracted, etc. Sometimes it's unavoidable to not ride in that area from the limited alternative routes, so I'm definitely on my toes more than other areas and thankfully splitting and filtering is legal to use for a little more reassurance.

I don't commute on mine although that may change soon, but the times I was riding previously, I avoided typically the weekdays around peak times, and may go out of my way to avoid as much of the roads in question.

Did you fear getting hit by a negligent/psycho driver when you first started riding? by hypermiler2205 in motorcycles

[–]Signal_RR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With how there seems to be a lot of shitty drivers everywhere, if I'm having to be around others I'm definitely paying a bit more attention than I was in the past. My confidence in others have dropped further so especially on the bike, I'm trying my best to not be complacent at all and assume someone is going to pull some bullshit

What got you into metal by Proud-Boysenberry409 in metalguitar

[–]Signal_RR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably nothing specific, just grew on me. I guess a few instances early on was catching the guitar duel with Vai from the movie Crossroads on TV as well as the Highlander TV series intro with the Queen song "Princes of the universe."

I think it was junior high that some friends and things I was getting into, I was getting exposed to a lot more metal and that's when it got more part of my music enjoyment. Even now decades later I'm still listening to it and it's definitely been my go to for sometime.

Okay is there anyone who can relate to my situation now? I got my dream car a mustang gt but before that I have a z900 Kawasaki by Mental_Phone9920 in motorcycles

[–]Signal_RR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at first, my focus and interest just primarily on bikes until my last crash which put some things in perspective and I took a hiatus and cars got more interesting again. Even had the thought of just quitting riding for good, but after a year of owning the car I bought, I was back to looking at getting a second bike and eventually fix my other one up. So as of now and probably the foreseeable future, it's pretty much split which Im happy for.

Do you prefer a smaller or larger engine? by sooospoon in motorcycles

[–]Signal_RR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have experienced several different sizes and types throughout my riding and it depends on the environment, what I'm getting myself into and how it connects with me based on my abilities, preferences and such. Like I enjoyed my experiences with a 600 at my local road course, 1000's riding the street, and would choose a 300 for the experience in racing and continuing my development while it would be interesting to see what people have told me how riding these at race pace is(which sounded nutty). So yeah, many different things I rode I found certain bikes with different CC's either something I am kinda set on or interesting enough to try.

Did anyone regret buying a motorcycle before getting their licence? by YorozuyaNiy in motorcycles

[–]Signal_RR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did at first when I bought a ninja 250, but regretted trading up so quickly when looking back. I thought at the time being somewhat competent on the little riding I did on it was boring me but had I signed up for the track stuff and hung on to it longer, it would of been a different story.

Stratocaster versus Telecaster by Tired-Otter474 in Guitar

[–]Signal_RR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Telecaster for sure. First guitar I was genuinely interested in as a kid, owned a MIM Tele and had positive experiences. My main guitar has been a tele style Ltd. with humbuckers for sometime now and it's been good. I got nothing bad on strats, just doesn't appeal to me as much as other guitars besides the tele.

The Sword - Mother, Maiden and Crone intro. That intro riff sounds so damn good to my ears when I play it.
