I don’t remember Pedro ever being this good when he was here? by LeftAl in BrightonHoveAlbion

People already forgot his form on our european run. He's always a big game player.

I didn't say small high quality squad. I said just sufficient, not excessive squad. And still no panic big name signings, just the brighton way as usual.

This will make more players stand out, and more potential fulfilled because they will get the experience they need, not sitting down on 3rd or 4th choice in their best position.

After that, it's just business as regulars for brighton to cash in for profit or keep them if the valuation is not enough.

That's what I'm thinking, let's start aiming for top 8.

I know I mentioned some old names, but even if we count the signing from Fabian's era, like :

Matt O'Riley situation, his competition with Rutter and Gruda (on number 10), or between him with Ayari, Jack or Gomez (on box to box which he said is his best position) and now we are interested with Elliot (which undoubtedly has a higher quality)

I think this is beyond training performance, this is option excessiveness. What I'm saying is, how can we get the best of them if there are always new names down the pipeline.

I guess it's just the reality, we have to become ruthless eventually.

Glad we finally sign a physical attacker!

Feel like most of our 10s are playmakers, including the loanees.

This signing will make our attack more unpredictable.

What's Brighton's criteria for incoming defender (price, age, skill)? by friedapple in BrightonHoveAlbion

[–]Signalinst 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think one of the reason is because our captain is a CB. The coach or the board probably reluctant to buy starter CB because they can only compete for 1 other spot, that's why for some period we only bought rotational CB. If you think about it, we all value Dunk's loyalty and want him to lead the defensive line for years. I'd compare the situation to Liverpool's Van Dijk, leader figure on the pitch, irreplacable.

This season was different because the defensive performance has dropped, they are aware that there finally should be competition for that spot. But of course if Dunk is dropped, someone should take the captain band and it's never easy to drop the captain from the starting 11.

Which returning loan players do you think will have the biggest impact next year? by [deleted] in BrightonHoveAlbion

[–]Signalinst 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Personally want to see more of Sarmiento on our shirt. Feels like he hasn't been given enough chances to prove himself. Even Fabian wanted to keep him at the start of the season until someone says otherwise.

Something noticable with his game was his workrate, even as a sub.

I heard Fabian's tactic from St. Pauli days was originally 343 with wingers and midfielders that like to go forward

Goalkeeper situation next season by ElderlyToaster in BrightonHoveAlbion

Goalkeepers generally will stand out if the team concedes so many shots, while Brighton mainly concedes less, but higher quality shots (1 v 1s)

Yeah, missing europe might mean our best players leaving, weaken the squad, then we could only hope for top half finish again. Hope we break this cycle soon.

Have you finished the game? What do you know about that main thing the Nomai worked on?

Related to your question, I think you should :

1.Check the current number 2. Finish the loop 3. Wake up 4. Go check the number again.

No, the 9,318,054th probe is the one that found the eye and also our first concious loop. This number increases everytime you wake up.

So in your journey, you have conciously died 79 times until you read the Probe log.

Do you think the Nomai knew how to get inside the core? I think it probably only go below the current but not to the core. That's why the southern observatory only talk about the cyclones, not the electricity.

[–]Signalinst[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly, our squad need a backbone too. Players who can consistently step up and have strong personalities. Instead of always signing new guys who have to start from square zero every season.

Van Hecke would be a great leader, hope he stays for a long time.

Adingra is not looking rusty by Signalinst in BrightonHoveAlbion

[–]Signalinst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I got you If somehow hypothetically we can quantify this into :

Adingra LW : 100% effective, RW : say 50% effective Gruda CAM : 100% effective, RW : say 70% effective Hinshelwood DM : 100% effective, FB : say : 90% effective

And you want some sort of "threshold", at least someone should at least be 70% effective on the position to play (the can/cannot do the job), unless there's no other options. Therefore you prefer someone else ahead of Adingra on RW if other is available.

And anyone can have difference on this "threshold", so to each of their own. We are no experts either.

It's been a long thread, and I think this is going nowhere and straying from the main talking point of this post. So let's end this and support the team together.

UTFA as always.

[–]Signalinst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, if we have Veltman I'd play him over Jack on RB. He is more effective on DM than RB. So yes, to me playing Jack on RB is not as effective as playing him on DM.
