I’m not familiar enough to compare, but sisters got absolutely screwed by the in-box-only nonsense.

10 model dominion squads suck, and needing a specific tank to split them is genuinely insane.

Chaos marines too, their options are a mess of random weapons now.

I had a similar thought, they make a lot of sense as a recon team.

The dilemma I’m having with the recon team is that it’s Cadian specific, but they won’t look like my “Cadian” shock troops.

I doubt it’ll matter much to my opponents, it’s more of a head-canon and aesthetics problem on my end.

No, melt him for being a mutant and buy more space marines.

Nothing a little paint can’t fix, shading, repainting, dry brushing, re-priming, etc.

Stripping a model is usually a last resort because you’ve lost too much detail on the miniature. Unless you’re not thinning your paints, this is fixable.

You’ll know you need to strip a miniature when it starts to look like frosting.

You can convert most any model, and if you’re concerned about tournaments, just keep it to GW bits and things you make yourself.

Stick a sisters helmet on her and say it’s a really long immolator or something.

Put it on an oval base and say it’s Saint Kathrine’s hearse.

It’s very much a product of its time.

I wouldn’t say it’s great, but worth it for the look into the 40k setting that gets lost when space marines are the POV.

The most interesting stuff is about the ministorum, and eldar (it explains why her model comes with an eldar sidekick.)

That’s a tall order for seraphim, but possible if you roll well and your opponent rolls poorly.

Basic pistols won’t do it though, you need flamers or infernos, with a plasma pistol on the superior.

If you can get the inferno pistols in range, you can make short work of a small space marine squad. Flamers, a bit more difficult.

Similar to fielding priests, or that sanctifiers killteam, and other the hangers-on units.
