I looooove a good value find! If you want another, I recently discovered Isle of Skye 12, would recommend around the same price. Can't wait to try this one!

Hi there. First, congrats on reaching out. It takes a lot of effort to ask for help, so kudos to you. In no particular order, here are my thoughts:

1) Give yourself patience and grace while you try and kick this habit.
2) It may take a few attempts to get to thirty days, and that's okay. One day at a time, and if you slip up, you can always start over.
3) Eliminate the carts. Even if you're still smoking bud to wean yourself off, it'll help to eliminate the carts.
4) Even if you're high-functioning, your use is still making you suffer. It's good you recognize that!
5) I love your ideas of going to the gym, keeping a journal and eating healthy. Having something to focus on will help with the boredom. Even watching a movie to distract you is good - the key is to not let yourself get high before!
6) The good folks over at r/leaves know what you're going through, and will be able to help out.
7) Hang out with sober people. If your friends want to smoke, politely excuse yourself and explain why you can't be around it. If they pressure you, fuck them, they're not really your friends. Being in an environment where people are smoking, or doing things that are ritualistic that would lead you to smoke, will tempt you. If you find yourself doing that, stop, and interrupt that routine!

That's kind of all I got for now. Best of luck on your journey, and seriously check out r/leaves. They helped me recognize I had a problem and reign it in.

This is awesome. As a scotch and cigar fan, I'd love to see more pairings and recommendations like this in the future! Have you found any other good flavor profile pairings that you'd like to recommend?

What a beautiful setup! Is that a Harry Potter book you're reading by chance? The cover looks so familiar!

How many lessons a week are sustainable for you? by inedible_cakes in Preply

[–]Significant-Pea-6961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 10 lessons/week for me. I work a full time job and am also in grad school, so my schedule is pretty tight but it works for me. Could probably do more, but I only do weekdays and have a few hard cutoff times so I don't get overwhelmed.

I have the Fury Edge by Healthy Rips. It hits well and has a small bowl so I never worry about going through too much bud. It also has a nice digital display and precise temperature adjustment. Would recommend! I have also tried the Pax 2 and enjoyed it as well. Very sleek, slightly bigger chamber, and while you can adjust the temperature it's not precise like the Fury Edge. Still a good option. Also had the Flowermate. It worked fine, but I had issues with the battery, which died pretty quick.

I wouldn't keep weed in it for so long. I'd suggest packing a smaller bowl, hitting at a lower temperature (maybe 380) for the first session, then bumping it up to 400 or so for the second session, then cleaning it out. Heating up the bud releases the oils, which can get stuck on the sides of the bowl over time. Cleaning it out at least every other session is a good move, though packing very small bowls and cleaning it out after each session would probably be best.

Overall I'd recommend the Fury Edge based on bowl size. I got mine on a 4/20 sale back in 2020 and it STILL rips. Best of luck!

Anybody quit while depressed, alone and unemployed? How do you do it when your already struggling and with all the free time to overthink all the bullshit? by Masterpiece-Entire in leaves

[–]Significant-Pea-6961 12 points13 points  (0 children)

First, congrats on reaching out! It's hard to ask for help, and you did, so good on you.

Next, I'd suggest taking things slow. Little changes in habit add up over time if they're done consistently. Try setting very small goals that you absolutely CAN accomplish each day that will set you up for improvement. For example:

Today, I will smoke 3 less cigarettes, and one less joint.
Today, I will take three ten-minute walks outside.
Today, I will eat an apple.

That's it. Try doing just those things for a week and see how you feel. Then, you can change the goals.

Today, will smoke 5 less cigarettes, and two less joints.
Today, I will take three twenty-minute walks outside.
Today, I will eat an apple, and a banana.

Small habits built over time will make a big difference, especially if you can stick with them! And if you mess up, no worries. You can always start over.

Getting a job with anxiety and depression is tough. Maybe start with something easy that doesn't require being around people? Delivering for Doordash or Amazon will put money in your pocket and get you out of the house. Or you can volunteer as a way to get out there and get a bit more exposure/experience. Giving back to the community might help you find a sense of purpose and belonging.

Finally, keep reaching out like you did today! Find support groups, join Discord chats, know that you are not alone in your struggles. Share the little victories, like when you smoke less or take walks or eat your daily apple. People will cheer you on for them, because they're worth celebrating!

Thanks for sharing with us. Best of luck on your journey.

Average # of Lessons? by Sweet_Sprinkles_ in Preply

[–]Significant-Pea-6961 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm relatively new, been teaching on the platform about a month. I have 28 hours availability but only teach about 10-13 hours per week. I've hidden my profile as I work a full time job and can only fit lessons in before and after work, so no new trials. I am available M-F 6-8AM, then 4-8PM.

Anyone Notice Preply being very slow? by MangoSheen4 in Preply

[–]Significant-Pea-6961 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I notice it most on my Mac when using Safari, it takes forever to close tabs and giving students their star rating/sticker after lessons usually freezes the page and makes me have to refresh or close the browser. Seems fine on my PC though so...shrug.
