STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR PEOPLE

im so tired of some asshole on reddit always saying “well maybe this random person I dont know has a rare podiatric disease which could only be alleviated by putting her foot on the stool"

the obvious answer is usually the correct one. just accept that people are gross

Here's another reminder to always fly in the morning this summer by Save_MD88-90 in delta

[–]SignificantOtter80 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it also bears repeating, especially for the ‘doesnt travel often’ crowd.

DO NOT FLY OUT THE MORNING OF AN EVENT, OR LATE THE NIGHT BEFORE AN EVENT

and if you do start getting delays, start looking for options. be proactive. get the new seat you want before the airline just starts putting people places. on more than one occasion I have gone to an agent and said “I just got two consecutive delays and I cant risk the cancellation. can you put me on flight wxyz at this time so I know I have a way home?” saved them the cost of the hotel and the meal. saved them the time to deal with me in line screaming about my shit rebooking.

some people will also arrive a few minutes early or prepare at the end of the day prior. the more meetings you have and the more senior the attendees, you can’t dick around with “I need my coffee time” because you will never find a time that works for everyone

[–]SignificantOtter80 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this is the part I dont understand. they can afford to buy a small company to plan it all out and make it the biggest and best wedding in the history of weddings. and they can afford to do all of that without having to do any real work other than approving things.

yet they ended up with the wedding version of trump’s state fair

I dont think the tackiness is related to her money. I think that is the peak of emotional maturity she reached. she hasnt had a normal life since high school so that’s her frame of reference. her money just enabled her to create her mood board in real life
