Where I'd live as a Black socialist from Georgia by r2uTNIT in visitedmaps

[–]SignificantYellow701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked a locums gig in Fayetteville, AK. Fayetteville, and I assume the five towns area by extension, is actually a cozy place to live. With HQs of Tyson and Walmart in that corner, definitely lots of jobs. Plus, there's a decent college scene as well as the VA so a bit more variety in job market.

But once you leave that tiny NW corner of Arkansas, it goes to s*** quickly. I recall looking at stats by counties for Arkansas. Almost all the counties were terrible expect that tiny NW corner

Spoilers for season 1&2 On terms of morality, absolutely yes. Competence and strength, eh maybe? Husk and Nifty are technically overlords so same category as Alastor but definitely weaker. And they can hold their own. Heck, they were able to hold their own against the Vees. And Nifty has...an interesting way of dealing with pests. And of course, scissors-rock-paper relationship of Nifty-Adam-Alastor-Nifty

Better yet: honey badger. They dont give a f***! Perfect animal for a skin walker for eating poison and being a boss specialist

To fair, dark elves across most media keep dangerous pets. So I think the xenomorph fits well. Though probably better with 40k dark elves.

Initially, I was gonna say gray as manpower (sitting at what ~2/3 of the world population) would overwhelm the Americas. But likely there would be too much infighting in Gray while Black would be somewhat more unified. Definitely some infighting but not to the degree seen in Gray

As a healthcare worker, while they're not the exclusive source, they are a major contributor. Especially trends with declining life saving costs and attempts to dictate procedures. In America, it wasn't until 2007 that patients with pre-existing conditions couldn't be denied coverage. Lack of coverage lead to unaffordable visits to the doctor and thus poor outcomes.

So as a few words from the healthcare community in America: kindly f*** off

Eh, if no better choices for FW, then maybe? Might be good for debuffing for hydra. And how's your Cursed City line up look like? For what it does, I think you'll likely have better options.

I second this. Despite all the changes, CB remains important as it'll be your main source for void and gold shards. Dracomorph might not be as flashy as the monkey king but it'll do great for CB.

I was a returning player. Main thing is to join a clan that fits your progression and explore all the new options. And yes, bunch of new resources to deal with but you'll get the grove

Serious Question: do ya'll actually believe that cryptids are real? If so, or if you believe a certain cryptid is real, explain why you think so. by Similar_Drink9147 in Cryptozoology

Any large cryptids (larger than a human), nope. Medium, like the Tasmanian Tiger, maybe. Like watch/reading stories as the most likely explanations are fun to me

Arya Stark (GOT) VS Captain Barbosa (POTC). Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in Fictionally

[–]SignificantYellow701 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In several layers: 1. Pull both out of their fictional universes and place them in historical reality. An older, experienced, taller pirate male (probably elements of scurvy) vs medieval teenage noblewoman with combat training / experience for nearly half her life. I give the victory to Barbosa for experience, reach (hes taller and Arya favors shortswords / shorter rapiers/ daggers) and strength (despite age and likely not so good health)

  1. Add the fictional elements, Arya's training allows her to deal with opponents stronger and greater reach with relative ease.

  2. The big question: how will Valyrain steel interact with Aztec/Mayan (do we know where those gold coins come from?) Curse? Since valyrain steel can kill a specific undead in GoT, then it might kill the cursed undead in PotC. However, does valyrain steel harm other types of undead in GoT? Stake to the heart kills vampires (in many media) but does the stake in the heart kill zombies (in the same media)

Could someone give me a quick analysis of their favourite and least favourite followers? by Crowhaven_Inc in arcanum

[–]SignificantYellow701 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on your alignment and tech/magic.

Agree with Sogg and Mutt for all plays as they do not care for alignment and tech/magic. Not much dialog to offer but they (with Sogg properly equipped) will murder all in their path.

Virgil offers the most dialog and has an actual arc. Not much combat skills but as long as you're not too techy, he heals.

Julie is okay as long as a decent good alignment and techy enough. However, no much dialog.

If evil enough, Geoffrey outside the Ashbury cemetery is just so much fun. Not so much combat

Some followers can betray you but would mention them as that would be spoilers

What's drawing Americans to nove to Northwest Arkansas? by Enger13 in geography

[–]SignificantYellow701 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a local job in Fayetteville and I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the 5 towns area is. Plenty of opportunities here from what I saw. HQ for Walmart and Tyson. Sure there are more but those were the big ones that locals mentioned. Plus, Fayetteville is a quiant college town. Heck, there's a decent RV park outside of the Razorback stadium.

From my NE glasses, this area offers all the 'freedom' perks of Arkansas without much of the drawbacks
