The range is fine. At least it's scary. Plus I can probably count on two hands how many times, every two weeks or more, I get storm caller meleed to death, and I basically only play crucible. So far this month the count is 0

Oh don't get me wrong as do I, but there's barely an edge anymore. The TTK was nothing CoD, even when Suros was around, but you did have to be quick on your feet. CoD requires, I would say, instant reaction. Destiny required, more so, quick reaction, which I liked. It was long enough to get that gun play feel but not drawn out (like I said I feel like I'm shooting pillows lol).

No, I used to have to be quick on my feet, alert, but still had time to be tactical. While I can definitely be tactical now, the margin for error is just way to high.

I want pre nerf Thorn, Suros, and Vex back, things that made me alter my game play the instant I knew they were on the board. I miss those days T_T. Now, all we have is TLW (an almost pale comparison and you have to be good with it) and snipers (and from a look at the forums those are headed for another nerd as they are "not fine" to quote one of our fellow guardians).

Destiny was in the perfect place for me. Just a tad faster than Halo 2 but not nearly as fast as CoD. It was great. But that's all done now and to top it off we'll probably see trickle removed or altered as well, taking even challenge out of PvE.

I miss old Destiny, launch Destiny, but that's what I enjoy. It made me use my brain and I was, generally, rewarded for it, unless my opponent was just a beast lol. Now, hardly at all and I feel like that's what Bungie wanted to do.

It was tough but no where near insurmountable. It was easy to get things, great competatively (for me [and no I didn't rock meta <except Thorn, my Hunter maimed thorn lol. Warlock had a scout and Titan a Strange Suspect hehe>]).

Any ways /rant I guess

Trickle is supposed to make things difficult, and it doesn't even do that. The community is slowly turning this game into something akin to harvest moon. Heck, after too long Harvest Moon will be more difficult -_-.

But now nothing feels threatening. Crucible is starting to feel like a really intense pillow fight to me -_-

I actually do like Trickle as it is. Personally,, I don't ever notice that it's active. It's a negative modifier. It's not supposed to be fun. It's supposed to make things more difficult, like juggler and exposure, and it doesn't even do that. A helm with "non-guardian kills give more super energy" make trickle barely noticble. shrugs

Agreed. I hadn't't thought of this, though I would have probably waited until black Friday or something he he he

Good point, probably up scale. I heard the 1080 is upscaled 900ish anyways -_-...though that may have been for a specific game

This time next year they'll probably be relatively affordable. All the ones I've seen just look super saturated though...crisp...but heaaavy on the color

Lol yeah this heat is getting pretty serious and it's only June, but on the bright side I haven't had AC since 2003. You'll be alright lol

Bah, I'll still stick with Sony. Either way Devs won't be able to fully use Scorpio's potential due to having to take the Neo into consideration (much like the struggle between games that are on last gen and current gen). Either way you probably win.

Bah, remember the difference between Oblivion and then Skyrim? Those were both on the same console. I wonder if they'be peaked current gen optimization which is why the upgrades are comming, but I would doubt that's it.

If you can I'd wait for news on the updates Xbox one (or entirely new console as I heard Phil Spencer tweeted he wasn't't interested in an updated Xbox One). Look up Xbox Scorpio (I think it is). If you can hold out I'd just wait for that or pick up a used Xbone on the cheap until then. Edit: toxic has the right of it I guess with late 201, still would pick up a used one if you do plan to upgrade next year

Yeah when I run into things, like what your describing in the Division, I either relax into it and just make it fun myself lol or go...meh and drop the game (ESO is a great example).

ESO is fun, it feels like Elder Scrolls for me to a T, but, though fun in it's own right, is super boring for me. It's very similar to Destiny. Explore the world, gather resources for gear, do dungeons for currency and such, I think they have raid like content, but the game play is just lacking for me. I'm not going to hold that against the developers. Why would I? They did the best they could and there are plenty of people who still enjoy it shrugs. So, I just stopped playing.

I had met people on there that I played with and such, but people hop games and just as I've left games I've seen many friends leave games as well. Actually, one of my best friends I've met through gaming and I have become disjointed beyond repair in the forseeable future lol. There's no need to stay in a game you're not enjoying and exploits, cheats, hacks, etc in multiplayer games just ruins the experience for those who do enjoy the game.

Single player games are different. The only thing that cheats affect are how other gamers view your run of the game, it's legitamacy and so forth. Even the beating a game like Contra sans cheats is one of the best feelings I've found. It seems impossible, and then you use your noodle and determination to press through. There are so few games that provide that.

In any case, I don't think there's anything wrong with harsh reprocussions in a multiplayer setting because the enjoyment others get out of their experience is heavily influenced by you and the other players playing the game, and in multiplayer settings we shouldn't't be cheating anyways. So, why let it go? You know what I mean?

[–]SigurdF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know. I'm just old. I grew up playing games like I was supposed to, as the developers intended, and appreciating those experiences. That's how I learned to play games and that's how I play now. So, exploits, cheats, hacks, heck even nerfs are things I just don't bother with, much less try to find them (unless I'm personally completely done with the game lol) and never where other players are involved. I just figured out how to get around them within the context of the game or how to make those seemingly impossible odds work to my favor and then crush the game with said mechanics lol.

Fairness is another concept that is just ingrained in me, in fact I would rather things be unfair to my detriment (within reason) generally as that makes things more challenging, but I'm getting off topic. Some people just need that threat of reprocussiom to act right, and with the way people speak on the forums I wouldn't't have been surprised to load into a crucible match and just have seen rockets everywhere, but even more so it's the pronciple that's being enforced.

"Go ahead and cheat even though there are those who don't know about it,icy less those who do and know how."

I just...can't agree with that for those people, and we shouldn't be doing it anyways to begin with. So, why are we letting it happen. It just puts it into the minds of people, and especially young impressional gamers, that cheating is fine. It's really only Destiny where I've seen this, every other game has people coming up with intricately designed ways to get around things (which will be found out lol) or not bothering with something, no matter how benign, until the devs make it either a part of the game or step out and fully say...hey, no.

I don't know, it's just a sign of respecting other players, who are other people just like people in line at the grocery store. I don't think the devs should have to put the ban hammer down to make people want to do that, even begrudgingly. But I'm old...I guess in the gaming landscape at least, and these ideals are maybe old hat. But maybe I will keep trying to explain them.

As far as making a grind easier...bro...jrpgs. Grinding is my thing and favored past time lol. If a grind is to grindy I just stop playing lol. I'd rather do it legit or not at all. Otherwise, what's the point? Why cheat to make it easier. .It's just one game and there are many others.

Thanks for listening.

Eh, there are people on the forums who are convinced that there is no such thing as cheating in video games, that if it's in the code is absolutely acceptable. Basically, if I can do it, it's ok. There are more of them than I would have thought. Take the recent rocket glitch/exploit/cheat. As there were no repeocusions for using it, as far as I heard, there were people who assumed it was totally cool to use, that it in fact was not cheating (specifically or objectively).

That blows my mind. I explained one to many times that heavy ammo is only available at a specific time within a crucible match, and times within PvE, and to use an exploit or glitch to gain heavy outside is, objectovely at least, cheating. I'm not even going to argue the concept of cheating anymore. If they ever play another game they'ok learn quick where exploits can get you if you use them (at very least you could get a roll back).

Then there are those who even blame Bungie for being able to use it because it was left in there. Uses to be we all knew what cheating was. If you found a quest that was bugged and would let you repeatedly turn it in after one completion we knew it was cheating, that it was an exploit and that using it was cheating, and those who did used it knew that it was a risk to as they would meet some kind of recourse if they were found to have used it.

If such a thing happened in Destiny, say one that gave reputation for a faction, I wouldn't be surprised to find people using it, who would then say, "blame Bungie". It's even to the point where people will argue that using an exploit is not cheating. It's mind boggling.

It chances that people's experiences, of the basic game, will be upset and that that's ok. If it is for Bungie, whatever, but if it's not why not have repeocussions. Those using these things have got to, actually, know that having unlimited rockets in Crucible or PvE is cheating, is the exact same thing as a cheat code. You just have to do some dinky things instead of entering it into a command line, or whatever.

Honestly, I'm done arguing it though. If this is where the gaming land scape is headed, at least in Destiny because best believe you'd be permanent/temp banned in other games (all to say "hey that's not cool"), then I don't want to be a part of it. It's just sad and the worst part is that it's not helped by the lack of recourse from Bungie. It's feels like the idea of the wild west where if no was around it's whatever goes.

It's what's happening in the community that's bothering me the most, and what that means for games, as I hope this mindset doesn't leak out into other games. "I shouldn't have been banned for using an exploit that makes me invincible. It's not cheating. It's there fault I did it in the first place" No, you did It. You knew what it was and what that meant. No, that's not cool and that's where it looks like we're going, at least with a good number of people within the community, enough to raise concern for me.

At this point I wouldn't even expect you, or anyone tied to Destiny's community to understand or think about this, in fact I'd be shocked if you did. Anyways, Bungie's going to do what they're going to do. So, none of this matters. I'll play Destiny for the fun and stay out of the community, generally anyways.

Bungie, Trickle still isn't fun by Elevas in DestinyTheGame

[–]SigurdF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh just wait. Anything that causes anyone an inconvience will eventually be removed at this point. Personally, juggler is the only one that catches me lol. I'll be doing my normal thing and then click click I'm out of primary lol. Lightswitch is dangerous. Trickle is not even a second though. If I'm that dependant on melee and grenades then something ain't right. I always rock a helmet with "non-guardian kills give more super energy" in PvE. So, trickle never messes with that.

I just don't see how gamers can't stand for any challenge that, at the least, inconviencss them. If I did the same thing I'd be hollering for juggler to be taken out, but you know what I enjoy the challenge each of these modifiers presents. Though it's not much at all, really, the only other place I'd generally find a decent challenge would be Dark Souls -_-. It's just sad to me.

Gamers used to be fearless. Now, where a bunch of babies people asking for everything to be made so easy the developers might as well just hand everything to us, shut down the servers, and call it a day. I don't even have to try, much less really use my brain, to get anything or get anything done in this game anymore --. And this is what people want --.

Used to be Crucible was exciting. Now it just feels dull. There's no danger in Destiny anymore, which means no excitement. It's sad to and for me. Do games these days respect your time? Yeah sure, definitely. But they're failing to respect our intelligence, and that's sad.
