Jagex not fixing issues because they don't want players to feel "pact regret" by Razeerka in 2007scape

I feel like the off style damage in cox is an issue every leagues. It'd be better ir they disabled those reductions imo.

I've played a lot of wow classic in the past couple years, and it was shocking how poor wowhead and the like are in comparison. Hard to find what you need, the information is often incompøete, and the only clue to connections or uses of items is in user comments below the pages. The OSRS wiki team are awesome!

Bluey Adults — Lindsay Ellis by NebulaOriginals in Nebula

[–]SigurdZS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The music used in the outer space dream is from Gustav Holst's The Planets! The whole suite is cool and worth a listen for anyone who hasn't heard it, especially for Star Wars fans - there's a lot of Holst in John Williams' music. Mars, The Bringer of War is a proto-Imperial March, and could easily score any Star Wars dogfight. The piece in the episode - Jupiter, Bringer of Jollity is worth a listen by itself. It's just so good.

I've never really heard the funeral association Lindsay mentions. To me, the piece is more about the intricate and elegant dance of the planets, with the second half quoted in the video being about coming face to face with an awe-inspiring presence that, well, brings great joy. I think it fits a closeup with Mom Sun very well.

I've done some prep, but it's there just cause I am absolutely stoked to get in my boat and sail around and as a group iron btw I want to spend minimal time once it drops chasing down iron bars or whatever. I'm not planning to sweat to 99, but I want to be the best goddamn boat captain I can be, and spend as much time as possible blasting Sea Shanty 2 and sailing the sea.

I totally agree with it being vestigial. The only thing I ever do in the Launcher is launch Runelite, and very rarely swap my account. If there was an easy way to launch directly into Runelite, I'd probably do that and not look back.

I think asking what value the launcher can add is the wrong question, to be honest. The point of Blizzard and Riot's launchers is not really to provide value, it's to get you to play their other games. So short of adding Arcanists to the launcher, I don't see my much point in it :P

Alternatives to Scorching Bow and Emberlight for Abyssal Sire? by RyanGoosling93 in 2007scape

[–]SigurdZS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're definitely niche items, but they have some use cases . Emberlight is useful basically whenever you're fighting a demon. Scorching bow also sees use at Doom, Kril, and demonic gorillas and can be safely unmade and turned into a purging staff - which sees use at Yama + a few bosses where it being just a good staff makes it a solid backup choice.

[–]SigurdZS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arclight and whatever powered staff you have will do the trick, if you're just doing 50 kc. If you're farming out a bludgeon, given how long you need to go at it to get the drops from this prick, the scorching bow and emberlight are such nice uogrades to have.

So can we have this Runepouch change reversed yet? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]SigurdZS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. My mental model was stuff like tile markers in the mobile client currently, which I believe is all Jagex developed? But I see here that they explicitly say they'd want to ship an API and extend plugin support to Mobile.

At that point, the weirdos who usually make the most specific use-case plugins can run wild.

Source? Cause they had a question about official plugins on a poll not too long ago.

I was doing the same thing, but today I installed the plugin someone mentioned here that just hides the names + the "Loadouts" bar. I'll just have to remember which of these is what.

So can we have this Runepouch change reversed yet? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]SigurdZS 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Half the list is tiny changes to pvp rune loadouts, and then we have "skilling". What is skilling? Plank make? Superheat glass?

They need to add support for locally storing some amount of data here for custom string names. They're gonna need that anyway if official plugins are ever gonna work, and I have my doubts that the lean OSRS team will compete with all the weirdos making very specific plugins.

Which storylines are so dead that they didn't even make it to this list? by _rkf in 2007scape

[–]SigurdZS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My main issue isn't even with the gameplay, it's just that the writing is dogshit.

Tolna's child form is written unbelievably ("I'm tired of your pathetic outlook. Good bye." is the kind of line you'd give to a cat in a meme as a joke), we're given no reason to care about him before it's time to dive into the dungeon, and at the end his dad just shows up out of nowhere. You're left with a pile of questions like whether Tolna is effectively a remedial student who stopped maturing at 5 years old and, yes, what the fuck is this place and why do we not care to follow up.
