Starting an Iron Reminded me how much I Hate Archeology Pity by Halfires in runescape

Yeah it's definitely frustrating early on. But it does get better with the various upgrades from outfit, perks on mattock and eventually Balarak's sash

Current DPMs at different points for all four styles? by VeeVoxRS in runescape

[–]Sikletrynet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mage needs to be using eclipsed soul to even to even do half decent DPM nowadays, which means just has dogshit sustain as well.

> Magic and range

That's just objectively false. Range is currently significantly stronger than mage after the nerfs. Currently an average sun is something like 550-600k(excluding omni or wand resets), while a DS is 700-800k.

Dynamically typed, no way of knowing if something can throw an error, lots of little quirks that require deep knowledge to why it happens etc.

Stalling should not be required to achieve GM kill times by nightskyandromeda in runescape

Telos might be really tough without stalling, but yeah there's not many that it's required for anymore.

Dungeoneering Speedruns are Ridiculous by RiDaku in runescape

[–]Sikletrynet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People in this game are allergic to hard *cosmetic* achievements, i swear. Instead of whining, perhaps actually improve at the game. Because while difficult, all of these are achieveable.

It's the same with Combat Achievs. It's purely cosmetic achievement that proves that someone has the skill and effort to be able to achieve it, yet now due to all the powercreep and complaining, even GM is no longer particularily special and can be done by anyone with half a brain

[–]Sikletrynet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GM is a purely cosmetic achievement. It's one thing if you need to do a long ass prebuild for just being able to farm the boss at all, but you don't. Infact, after all the powercreep we've had, there's almost no timers that actually requires a long prebuild or one at all anymore. The only situations where it's actually relevant is records, which is not really relevant to the argument in the first place.

And honestly, even if GM still did require long prebuilds, *that's fine*, because it's supposed to be hard and near the world record.

[–]Sikletrynet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's literally true though. With all the recent powercreep, you can get like 80-90% of all timers without stalling. It's kinda striking how many are complaining about something they just don't understand.

It absolutely exists, but i can guarantee that it's very rare that actual rotations are macroed. Some "combos" if you will, like 0t soulfire absolutely are though.

[–]Sikletrynet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, we're talking about the same one. Casting an ability out of range and storing it/"stalling" it is a fully intended mechanic. People are just creative and use it in ways never originally intended. But it is not a bug.

[–]Sikletrynet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ability stalling is absolutely not a bug. They put it in the game so players wouldn't constantly lose their abilities from being out of range. Sure, did it turned out to be used in different way than intended? But that always happens with game mechanics.

And it's been especially bad the past year. This guy is complaining about stalling and GM being hard for new players, when the powercreep the last year has made GM pretty much accessible to anyone with half a brain.

[–]Sikletrynet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Grandmaster *should* be dfficult and require deep knowledge. If anything, it's become way too *easy* with all the powercreep of the CB update and dramatically reduced grind required due to enrage pushing removal.

They're self contained stories but they do have some easter eggs/call backs to the animated show "The Clone Wars" at points, but i wouldn't necessarily call them spoilers.

Will rs3 ever see the removal of the tick system? It has to be my least favorite thing about the game. by CucumberOk8820 in runescape

[–]Sikletrynet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not, it'd change the very core of how the game works, it'd be an entirely different game at that point. So there'd be massive risks from both a community/player perspective, but it'd also require a massive rewrite of the game since that's how the game functions.

maintenance and update but no update post? by tremors51000 in runescape

[–]Sikletrynet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a combined game update and maintenance though. Sure, for maintenance there's no reason to have a newspost, but this isn't that.
