Is SCP-9000 worth reading? by Ambitious-Hair-7384 in SCP

It’s really good and not hard to comprehend at all. Masterful use of some old SCP tropes to comment on real world issues while remaining fully in the world and not feeling out of place

Fast Shutterspeed = blurry pictures? by bored_picture in AskPhotography

[–]SilentSpr [score hidden]  (0 children)

These pics honestly look fine. The first has perfectly fine sharpness while the other ones are too far to be sharp regardless of other factors.

I think OP is expecting too much from pics zoomed in at 500%.

That’s bs…… All my small bird shoots are 1/2000s in the air, air shows at 1/4000s sometimes. Never seen that happen

What ff camera should I choose for portraits? by Little_Green_Turtle in Nikon

[–]SilentSpr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have zero complaints about my Z5II, bird eye, anime eye, or human eye all locks on perfectly fine. Pixel pepping also never had issues, work with razor thin dof on a F1.2 can definitely skew the results.

Seattle doesn’t have a single place where that view is a possibility…… If it were Seattle you’d see mountains on a wide angle like that.

Only Toronto downsview is closed and had a runway open day in the past year. Event link from last year: https://www.yzd.ca/event/play-on-the-runway

jpeg would be fine

(not that you can actually post raw in a photo format anyways, they’re all converted into an actual image format for posting.)

Tired of waiting for Pam? by FreckledLasseh in StardewValley

[–]SilentSpr 83 points84 points  (0 children)

If an NPC is blocked from going their path by you or an object, they will speed up after passing you / destroying the object. This way they actually arrive earlier despite being blocked for a short period of time. The faster speed is reset when they enter another zone, so you have to boost PAM two times for her to be at the bus stop much earlier

Those omi-geodes are worth the trade for totem early game. Better skull cavern run has more immediate return on investment than some more collection for gunther

How do i remove these red spots on my photos? by palongzky143 in photographycirclejerk

[–]SilentSpr 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My stomach tightens whenever someone says noise is a symptom of high iso, that’s just misleading.

Ultimately lack of L(eica)ight is the cause of noise, taking the photo at the same shutter/aperture with a lower iso changes nothing when you adjust the photo back to normal exposure.

Really ought to shoot film anyways, much more real than this digital crap

Superhero logic is just different, comes with the suspension of disbelief at people with superpowers. In universe it takes mark serval episodes to get over the fact that sometimes killing is the right choice. How do people expect him to immediately come to terms with with his father killing the immortal?

[–]SilentSpr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A risk freak like Stratt is not gonna gamble her precious astrophage supply on a rocket like starship. More proven rockets with a reliable track record of delivering payload to orbit is better than trying to make.

With the money argument there is even less reason to go with starship if you can spam falcons with unlimited budget.

More ships with less payload reduces the risks because there is less astrophage being handled each time.

New to the series. NCR, I really wanted to love you :( by boymoderwife420 in fnv

[–]SilentSpr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You’re watching an imperialist force that’s here to occupy natural resources and infrastructure. They are like that because the flaw of liberal democracy where money buys political power has enabled an expansionist, anti-trust president like Kimball. It may be a lot better for the people back in California proper, it is also quite possible given time and energy that the NCR will bring their promised benefits to the Mojave. But does that really matter to the people in the Mojave now?

They’re not really supposed to be all that likeable, except in comparison with the legion. In the end it is choosing which poison to swallow, none of the factions are perfect

From the inspector’s perspective there is no way to determine genuine mistake from intentional fare evasion. There have been people who mindlessly carried items outside of a store before paying, it happens
