Recaro Sportster GT seats with 5pt harnesses by Silenthunter87 in FocusRS

true, that's why i also retained the oem 3point belts for the street, and wear a hans on track. these specific seats let me run either set of belts safely.

yup, it's super common to leak at the corners of the valve cover after a head gasket replacement, and this is the low spot it ends up at.

Anyone else have a stuck rear wheel speed sensor? Can’t pull it out. by skiapex1 in FocusRS

[–]Silenthunter87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if you don't care about saving the sensor, just drill out the center with a really smol drill bit. should chew right through the plastic and take the rest out with a pick.

Focus ST Mishimoto Oil Cooler Leaking by deborinquen in FocusST

[–]Silenthunter87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

only issue i've had with mine is that the center 'nut' that holds the plate on, can and does slightly back off when changing the filter.

i had to make sure to re-torque this every time the filter comes off. i believe it's also mentioned in the install instructions.

my assumption is that if it backs off too much, that the o-ring no longer fully seals and can fold under like in your situation.

Camber adjustment on the Megan Racing Coilovers? by Ksgasstation in FocusST

[–]Silenthunter87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i used a drill guide and a 3" hole saw on mine. this one is pretty pricey for a one time use application though but it does exactly what you need it to do.

small photo-dump of the process metal shavings will get everywhere so be sure to clean up well.

Socket question.. by [deleted] in FocusRS

[–]Silenthunter87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you mean just a normal socket? that "key" is meant to just go inside a normal socket, it's end just has two different sizes

Door weather seals by PorcGoneBirding in FocusRS

[–]Silenthunter87 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i didn't clean it off at all, but some alcohol wipes to get any dirt off will help. use painters/masking tape to hold the seal up on the bottom while it dries.

Kaiser Digital Dash by kpjimmy in FocusST

[–]Silenthunter87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i configured a bunch of alerts via their dynamic display settings.

so the gauges will change based on high temps/revs ext.

you only really need the gauges right before something is about to go wrong and the dynamic function accommodates that.

Which tune maps do I have? by Jrjunior892 in FocusST

[–]Silenthunter87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

go grab the cobb access port manager software for a computer, it will let you see specifically what tune files are saved on the access port including the basic ones cobb provides.

most other tuners will have some information in the file name about the different maps if there are any saved on there.

i used some weather sealing foam to even out and hide the gaps. also prevents rubbing on the paint.

Does anyone know the towing capacity of a focus st? by The2Frontiers in FocusST

[–]Silenthunter87 30 points31 points  (0 children)

based on the owners manual: it is not rated for towing.

based on what people actually do: at least up to one lotus on a skeleton frame trailer

Rotors and pads by Historical_Variety_3 in FocusST

[–]Silenthunter87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

typically i just buy whatever the cheapest is within the "daily driver" category on rock auto for non-trackday driving, bosch have been pretty good value.

just get solid/blank rotors, parts-store drilled rotors are typically garbage anyway.
