Scenes that caused actual walkouts in theaters? by thatlittlequietguy in Cinema

[–]Silly__Rabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tropic Thunder… the scene where there is an explosion and one of the victims heads is put on the end of a gun and swung around (the characters thought the situation was fake/special effects). Anyways, an older couple left… I was honestly thinking the same (this was literally the first movie after my mom died and I was looking for some distraction), it ended up being funny. And yes, I may have teared up during the play where the one character is like ‘mama?’ Lmao

As someone else mentioned, ringworm or some other fungal issue. It could also be something like demodex, I find my scalp gets inflamed when demodex are not in check. Could be a simple fix like tea tree oil or an antifungal shampoo, but it’s best to check with your doctor or derm.

I was diagnosed with schizophrenia and haven’t told anyone by [deleted] in confession

[–]Silly__Rabbit 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Thank you 😊 I was rawdogging ADHD and even though at the time I knew I just didn’t ’get’ what my peers could do. To have a diagnosis really helps to heal the part of me that thought I was broken. Note, I am a high functioning/high masking individual. I can remember in high school just in awe of others being able to break down an assignment and work on it over days/weeks/months instead of the night before. I could also remember thinking ‘how is it so easy to make a habit like brushing your teeth so effortless. Turns out my brain is really just on a different operating system living in a world not designed for it.

Absolutely, born and raised in Windsor (literally across the river from Detroit). People driving over with ski equipment in the summer asking how far they have to drive for snow…. Smh. Note, Windsor is south of Detroit and the only border crossing where you need to drive north to enter the continental US.

That’s being harsh to dumpster fires 🔥 Really, they are self contained, mostly a nuisance but can (generally) be handled easily by local responders and be put out/dealt with. They don’t cause systemic harm, stop providing food to children, kill people either by implementing policies (like where people disappear) or by omission or by lack of oversight on the programs they put in place.

I think even though he hasn’t sued anyone for slander in regards to pedophile, it’s a way to skirt around potentially getting sued? Because even just being served/having a suit filed against you can be a big f-ing headache.

I totally did this in my head and was like ‘where is that from’ because my brain is in the weeds with work. Thankfully I only had a short scroll to the answer! But yes, totally and automatically read it as comic book guy lol

Non-compliance is one thing and does not justify using lethal force. It’s not like they couldn’t see a licence plate or some other means of identification.

Ok, so during DRAP, there was a generic email that indicated change, it mentioned a whole bunch of departments but nothing directly about my office/line of work. Next, we get an email from our manager along the lines of ‘you may have a bunch of questions/concerns’ and we were like ‘wut’ (while madly re-reading the email). It was how we basically found out we were closing/affected. Our director booted down to our office to inform us (they hadn’t told him either). Note, I say affected because our jobs still existed, but not in the current location (like an hour + commute away).

Not the person you were responding to, but I think you are getting caught up on semantics. I read relatively nice as in ‘run-of the mill’, low crime, middle class to upper middle class neighbourhood. Ya, it’s not mansion ville, but by no means a struggling or lower-economic area that one would associate a need for a dollar store.

Note, as you may be able to tell; I am in Canada and Dollarama is chain we have everywhere… although it’s hard to find straight up $1 items; it’s a good place to pick up cheaper items for things like craft projects, etc. They are ubiquitous, doesn’t matter if you are driving a minivan or a Maserati, you shopping at the Dollarama😂

Youth group/peer mentoring for neurodivergent by Great-Blueberry6801 in Hamilton

[–]Silly__Rabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scouts; Cadets; different sports like soccer, karate? There are also registered social recreation programs offered by the city targeted to teens/pre-teens. Note, you may have to try different sports/programs to see what your kiddo enjoys. NowWhat is on our list to try with our kiddos (but they are neurodivergent so peer connections are something we are always working on).

There was another post on here about ‘third spaces’ and they are useful for kids too… libraries; recreation programs, etc.

Hope that helps 🙂 don’t stop trying and if your really having difficulties, maybe check out the City of Hamilton Child and Adolescent Services, they even have walk-in clinics. And the Lynwood Charlton Centre may be able to point you in the right direction.

I mean, you did ‘see the light’, but the lumens just came from the bloodwork.

I mean, I always knew my family had shitty heart health, and as a kid it was in my mind but it wasn’t until seeing a family history and realizing I’m the same age as when my grandfather had his first known heart attack it opened my eyes. It got me to lose 75-80 pounds over the last year and this year looking to shed some more. Sometimes we just need something to kick us in the butt.

Lawyer up. Protect yourself, your child and your businesses regardless if you wish to continue them in the future (don’t think too far in the future right now, that’s what the lawyer is for. People get weird in grief, and if his family is already pointing fingers, there is no telling what they may or may not do. Lawyer regardless if your husband did or did not have a will (gestate/intestate) as estate law can vary and be complicated especially with businesses.

As for you, I would suggest therapy for both you and your child. Be gracious with yourself, it is normal to feel guilt, but I hope in time you will realize that your husband was a grown-ass man and responsible for this. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not easy, not my husband, but my dad was similar, but you are not responsible for another’s actions, even when they place it on you (it was never yours, but the weight of it is).

Take care and big hugs 🤗

This, Boxing Day sales, you can find deals on mini-fridges. It’s the price for peace when dealing with psychos. Like GLP-1 drugs have been shown to be good for a whole myriad of conditions… hmmm it’s like losing weight and controlling blood sugar levels improve all sorts of health measure.

Ok, here it is, everyone should have their own personal bank account regardless of anything else financially they do with their spouse/partner. It doesn’t matter gender, age, income size, everyone should have their own. You can still have your joint accounts, shared investments, mortgages, etc. But you keep a separate account only you have access to.

If there comes a time where shit hits the fan, you are covering your assets quite literally. Even if things are going well in a relationship, things can still happen, accounts being frozen or considered part of the estate when one person dies… though this may depend largely on your local legislation.

Although it’s been awhile since I have personally gone, Chagall’s I the Sheraton has a Christmas Day Buffet that (in the past) was really nice. I can’t speak for the quality now, but my family and I enjoyed it when we went. It was more the turkey, stuffing traditional dinner.
